I come here when I'm craving some che since it's right down the street from where I live, and Bambu usually hits the spot. They have a variety of che to choose from and you can add whatever you want to their prefixed ches. I usually just get something consisting of pandan jelly or red beans. I love their pandan jelly because it's the perfect amount of chewy. For a while, my usual was their special that consisted of coconut juice, fresh coconut slices, longan, basil seeds, and pandan jelly. That is a good option if you're looking for something on the lighter side. I've also tried some of their milk teas. I've had the regular milk tea and their jasmine milk tea. Both are actually really good! Now if only they started serving some of the traditional che's...that would be awesome! read more

Discriminatory af!!!! So I'm standing in line and it's my turn ...I hand the lady my ten dollar bill (it's cash only), she immediately puts it up to the light and then marks it and holds it up again..in my head I'm like really!??? Got my change and the next lady goes up and pays...her money, like the ladies before me, goes straight to the register....mine was a 10$, lady after me was a 5$ and ladies before me was a $20. I straight up called her on it she just smirked and said it's ok and kind of brushed it off. I don't stand for that garbage behavior from any one or any business....I asked for my refund and she started apologizing...I'm Mexican as hell and the other ppl were asian ...if my money is no good here I guess my people are not welcome here...no problem I went to coffee lovers across the street, never had a problem there. BEST THING EVERRRRR! I usually do not have a sweet tooth but I love the freshness and balance of sweet that this place brings into che. It is a bit pricey but worth it for the amount you get and is like the idea of gourmet cupcakes. I rather get this than any cupcakes! Im not going to lie the drinks are good, really good, until i found out its secret ingredients...half and half...But then you know who wants to be healthy while eating dessert right? The popular drinks are the #1 and their che is big with lots of jellys and fruits. This place is pretty unique since I rarely see any places that just specialize in Vietnamese desserts. It's not a milk tea or boba shop for sure but you can get boba if you want. The che is here freshly made and tastes like it was just made. I usually come here for #1 and #6 which are pretty refreshing. If you order to go with a large order you get a bag of shaved ice which is nice to put in the drinks when you get home. It hasn't been very crowded the few times I've come here and the cashier is pretty nice and patient if you're taking your time ordering. If you do order to go be sure to put the ice in fast since if you let it sit too long it kind of clumps together and becomes this huge ball of shaved ice that isn't very shaved anymore. I come from LA and San Diego so I have eaten Che Hien Khanh in Garden Grove and they have the best che I have ever eaten. I have heard so much about Bambu from all my San Jose friends so I had to try it out. I got lost getting here because the GPS kept saying it's in the plaza where red lobster is at, not the plaza behind. I order Suong Sa Hat Luu and they make it too sweet. It's ok, not worth the hype. Then i went to the Bambu on Hostetter Rd and boy is there a difference! The one on Hostetter makes it not too sweet nor too bland, it is worth 4 stars meanwhile this place is only 2 stars. read more

I've never really had Vietnamese dessert (Che) before but a lot of my friends have. So on a random weekend that we had all decided to go to Boiling Crab, we dropped by Bambu Snacks and Coffee. The place is pretty small and there's not a lot of seating (it'll probably fit 2 small groups of 2-4 inside and maybe one big group of 5-6 outside). It was sorta difficult to find this place if you didn't know where it was but it is in a shopping plaza so we just kept driving around until we saw it. There's usually a short line (I've gone twice, both times there was a line and even after we ordered and sat around, there was always a continuous short line). Good thing though, the line goes by pretty fast and you get your orders pretty quickly too. The ladies who work there are pretty nice although they don't have the best English (but really, all you need to say is the number next to what you want to order on the menu anyways so it doesn't matter). Everything is translated into English on the menu so it was really easy to order what you wanted. I ordered #10 which was Red Tapioca, Grass Jelly and Pandan Jelly (all of the deserts come in a cup with coconut milk and shaved ice). I'm a simple type of gal and don't like to order things with too much stuff so the dessert I ordered was one of the simpler ones. There's a lot of other options on the menu and everything pretty much costs just the same as if you had ordered a tapioca drink from Quickly's or Tapioca Express. I got my order, mixed in the shaved ice and BAM! I was in love. lol. But like I said, i've never had Vietnamese dessert before so falling in love with this place was easy since there was nothing else to compare it to. The pandan jelly was sooo good! I've never had pandan jelly anywhere else (only pandan waffles) but it was really good. Mix that in with grass jelly and tapioca and it was just amazing. I could have easily ordered another one since my friends and I were already done within 30 minutes but we all stopped ourselves since we had been stuffed from dinner. but seriously. everytime I go down to San Jose now, i HAVE to make a trip to Bambu. If I don't, I'm just not satisfied. It's just such a shame they don't have a branch in the East Bay. Driving to the South Bay is always such a hassle read more

I like che ba mau and thap cam here. Everything tastes just right. Service is kind of slow and I have to wait for 10-15 minutes sometimes.

I freaking love che! I always get the #6 (if your not a hardcore che person I would recomend this) its basically Lychee logan, red tapioca, jackfruit, palm seed, pandan jelly, and jello with coconut milk...its veryyy yummy! But I recently made a switched to the red bean w pandan jelly but now im hooked on #1!!! Everything is good here so its hard to decide sometimes...I have also tried there orange dream smoothie and its quite yummy!!! Watch out the young girl cashier short witha long hair . She will steals your money. Its happened 2 TIMES to my sister & 1 time with me. You will notice her because when you talk to her she doesn't make any contact with you or response make you wonder if she heard what you say. When my sister went home complainted about her overcharged and how rude her customer service, i made myself a trip to over there at 830pm on 08/10. I ordered 2 large #3 & 2 regular size #1. She charged me total 24.50. When i asked her how much for a large size, she didn't look at me , & respond with an uneasy voice. I asked her for a recipient, she didn't respond so i thought she didn't heard me so i repeat again. When she tried to print out the recipient she mumbled that she overcharged me $3 and throw the money on the table. . This is unacceptable for a customer service, Bambu need to train their worker how to treat to customers. My sister already left that location and go to the one in Story road, even though we live 5 minutes from the one in Aborn. Im now leaving them too & will go to other location. read more

I don't get why these place are so darn popular, the che isn't really all that good. They put simple syrup into the che instead of cooking the sugar directly into the goodies. It get sort of bland. Service is typical of any Vietnamese place...BAD I probably won't come back unless I really have a terrible craving. read more

I like: Bo dam - Avocado, dark brick, combo jelly, pearl Chè thap cam (combination) - Red bean, white bean, green/mung bean, taro, pandan jelly, pearl, combo jelly Chè 3 màu - Red bean, white bean, green/mung bean, taro, pandan jelly I normally add durian to my bo dam. I'm not sure if it's my imagination, but I like do dam at this location better. I think it has coffee flavored jelly. Edited my review a bit. Yelp didn't support Vietnamese characters. :( read more
