The Pandan Mochi Waffle was not soft. The texture of the waffle was hard and crusty, and not chewy at all. With this, we were expecting the waffle to have a softer texture and more chewy. This place has the best fresh fruit durian smoothie!!! It was a bit sweet but the blended creamy smooth durian shake was to die for!!! Yes. I drank all of it when I usually only take a couple of sips. The whole restaurant was so busy since they were so many customers. It was pretty loud in there since the place was packed. Anyhow. Back to the durian smoothie. Glad it was real fruit and well blended. I didn't see the separation of ice and other ingredients like many other drinks. This review is only for the two drinks I tried there (at different times). 1. Hot Vietnamese coffee to go: it was okay. I remember thinking it was small for the price. 2. Bambu Special: following the positive reviews about that drink, I decided to try it. It's a refreshing drink. They place the different ingredients at the bottom of the cup, and add a giant scoop of shaved ice on top. As of 12/2024, that drink is about $10.00ish, including tax. I paid cash to avoid paying the 3% fee they charge to use a credit card. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think I'll go back for more. This was my first time having Bambu since college. My boyfriend and I tried the bamboo favorite. It had red tapioca, grass jelly, pandan jelly, and coconut milk. It was unlike anything I've had before, but in a good way. I enjoyed the grass jelly (had pudding consistency) and red tapioca (similar to boba), but the pandan jelly was a bit too chewy for me. It was like a slightly softer gummy worm. This drink had a lot going on with multiple toppings, so if I ordered it again, I'd skip the pandan jelly. Very ghetto area, but very nice interior with good customer service. Came here to treat my dad early in the morning and was surprised that it was behind all the other shops. The inside was very spacious and clean, I liked how they decorated the place. The staff attended to us quickly and always made sure to check up on us if we needed anything. I saw the sign for this place and thought I'd stop in for a coffee. It's a cute little shop! The other half of the restaurant is a pho restaurant. I haven't been to this plaza in a long time so I was surprised to find this place hidden in the back. I ordered an iced salted cream (I think) coffee. It was really pretty when I got it. All the cream sits on top. I took a sip and woah! It was strong! I should have known since it is Vietnamese espresso. Still very good once everything is mixed. Service was quick and friendly. I would have liked more chairs and tables for the "cafe" part of the establishment. There were two little ones, but it was directly in the sun, so I left. The food looked amazing as well. It's very strong and after one sip all the hair on the back of my neck stood up and I was ready to take on the world. I also tried the green dessert waffle and it was super chewy and addicting. The environment was fresh and clean. They even have a stage area in the back for possibly karaoke and performers. It's all setup with big speakers and lights ready for entertainment. This place is still operating during Covid-19 just FYI since there isn't a recent review. I didn't even know this place existed until I google mapped "boba" so I was excited to try this place. I consider myself a boba connoisseur lol so that's what I thought I was getting but then looking at the menu I noticed their signature Chè and said what the heck I'll try something new! I tried the #10 Bambū Favorite, #6 Fruit Addict (mom's drink) and C7 Salted Caramel coffee with boba (dad's drink). The first couple of sips were a little strange because the texture was something I wasn't used to but then my taste buds got comfortable and both drinks were good. As for the salted caramel coffee, my mom thought it was too sweet but my understanding is that Vietnamese coffee is more robust and sweeter. I liked it but I would definitely get a small. Overall the service was great and the place looked clean, although like another reviewer said it's not in a nice/clean area and it's hidden in the back. Location might be a little confusing, but it's inside nho cafe. If you've ever been to the pho place before it was remodeled your jaw will drop. They completely redid the place and tore down a few walls to extend the business and it looks amazing. It use to be a little family owned, hole in the wall type of place beforehand. She took awhile to take my order and my drink took about 10-15 minutes. We usually stop by Bambu in LA every time we're in town. I Couldn't wait for the renovation to complete to try some Vietnamese noodles with my family. We even brought along our relative. I ordered seafood egg noodle soup, OH MY GOSH....as soon as I bit into the imitation crab meat, a foul, sour, and rotten taste and smell exploded into my mouth. I couldn't even spit it out fast enough. I asked my brother in law to try it in case my taste buds was off. He too couldn't spit it out fast enough as soon as he took a small bite. I took out all the imitation crab meat and placed it into a small bowl, called the waiter over and told him the imitation crab meat was rotten. He took the bowl and left without saying anything. I couldn't take another bite knowing there was rotten food in my bowl. I saw the waiter again as he walked out of the kitchen towards my table with a bowl in his hand. I suppose he was going to replace the imitation crab meat, but I didn't want it anymore. I asked the waiter to change my order to Pho steak to be on the safe side. He asked again to make sure if that's what I wanted and I said yes. He goes off and comes back with my egg noodle from the previous bowl but now placed in pho soup. At this point I just literally face palm and the waiter kept looking at me knowing what they did but didn't do anything.
