RareTea is a one of my favorite tea/boba shops and it's my first time visiting this location since I live on the opposite side of town! Anyways we were greeted upon entry. I had my heart set on coffee and saw their specialty menu and the Coconut Vietnamese Coffee stood out. We placed 2 orders didn't wait long and our order was ready! It was sooooo delicious!!!! The Vietnamese coffee was strong and it really complimented the coconut milk, which was silky. I drank half and was a bit jittery and I did feel it was a bit sweet so next time I would definitely order it 75% sweet. But overall the drink was pretty good and service was great! Date of visit: Saturday, April 4th, 2026, around 7:00 PM. Management needs to address the severe lack of service, poor communication, and misleading ordering practices during this shift. The problem here isn't with their drinks--their products are actually good. I've ordered the banana matcha before and enjoyed it, and the Mango Coconut + Noodle drink is my mom's absolute go-to order. However, I will definitely not be returning here if this specific evening crew is working because of how poorly my order was handled: * NO GREETING: When I walked into the store, all the workers (two girls and one guy) were just talking amongst themselves in the back. There was no "hi" or "hello" from anyone. * RUDE ORDER TAKING: One of the girls approached the register and just asked, "What can I get for you?" Her vibes were completely off, making it clear she didn't want to be there. When I asked if the Mango Coconut + Noodle drink came with mango jelly or if they had mango toppings, she wouldn't even offer a recommendation. She just pointed to the counter menu and said, "No, these are all the toppings we have," even though they had two mango options right there. After I paid, she didn't confirm the transaction and just asked me again like a robot, "What can I get you?" * UNACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTION & MISLEADING CHARGES: The guy handed me a Mango Smootea instead of what I ordered. When I pointed to the menu, he claimed, "Oh, we don't have the noodles anymore, I'm not sure why they still have it up on the menu." However, looking at my digital receipt (attached), the girl at the register never even attempted to ring up the noodle drink I asked for. While a Mango Coconut Smootea is a valid substitute, the issue here is that she nonchalantly charged me $7.50 for it WITHOUT saying a single word to me about being out of stock or ASKING if that alternative was okay, forcing me to pay $8.50 for an item I didn't want. * ZERO SOLUTIONS OFFERED: The staff completely lacked communication. The guy making the drink should have told me they were out of the item before making a random substitute. Instead of just saying sorry, they should have provided an actual alternative, offered to remake the drink into something I wanted, or offered a refund. I walked away with an incorrect drink that was pushed through the register without my consent because nobody on this shift wanted to communicate. I hope management addresses this behavior with the team working that night. * A SHOUT-OUT TO BETTER STAFF: I want to emphasize that I am leaving this 1-star rating STRICTLY for the April 4th evening crew, as the rest of the staff is usually fine. On a previous visit on Friday, February 20th, 2026 around 7:50-8:00 PM, a completely different girl was working, and she was very professional and accommodating. She was willing to go out of her way to make a custom drink I was craving that wasn't even on the official menu (a banana pudding and Oreo milk tea). 4/1/26 Nest door! Might as well get dinner!! Ordered & paid for a boba drink on DoorDash. Went to pick it shortly later! Arrived! Told worker and it wasn't ready yet. Not real friendly or welcoming. Ended up seeing mochi ice creams that I didn't know they had. Ended up getting a Matcha & Vanilla Chip to share for dinner tonight. Paid for it and it was bright shortly after. First time visiting this shop, and its conveniently located across Target. The place is small but very nice and welcoming. The salesperson was attentive and prepared my Thai tea quickly, which I appreciated. I also like that they let you adjust the sugar level to your preference. I tried two teas, the guava with lychee jelly's and passion fruit jasmine tea. Both were equally delicious. Prices are fair, although I felt like the add in fee for jelly was a little high. The guava was definitely the favorite. The inside is nice and really clean, menu was easy to read and understand. I'd give the drinks five stars, service gets four. They weren't rude by any means, just kind of indifferent. Didn't feel welcome or met with any type of pleasantry. But overall I'd go back for the tea. read more

Here's the tea: this place is good! This place has SO MANY options when it comes to drinks. Far more than some of the other boba spots in the Fresno area. The inside is super aesthetic and clean, however, little to no seating so I would not recommend this place for a hangout. Also, their strawberry matcha tends to separate and curdle up each time I've gotten it unfortunately. I'm not a fan of the chunky bits that form from it. I tend to get a strawberry matcha at any boba/tea shop I visit and this is the only place I've experience this from so far, I'm not sure what causes this. The young man that helped me was very helpful, friendly, and made a great suggestion. I had never been in before and honestly I'm not big into tea. A sweet refreshing drink sounded great on this hot day. I loved the Peach Spring Tea and the aloe. He let me have a sample of the aloe because I've never tried that before. They spring tea was described as a light green tea. The aloe chunks taste somewhat like lychee but a bit more firm. I love it! I was asked my sweetened level. It's comes 100% which I kept because I love sugar. Next time, I think I would go down on the sweetness. Inside, it's very calming and clean. I absolutely love this location. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The drinks are made pretty quickly so you're not standing and waiting for too long if you have a spur of the moment craving for boba. They're also on DoorDash to order for delivery or pick up. I'm always in the area so I'll pick it up and it'll alert me that my drinks are ready. They accept Apple Pay at the register which is a big plus for me since I don't like pulling my card out. Also my daughter will go there with her friends after school and she'll use her phone to pay. You can register your phone number for rewards which is awesome since we go there so often. The add ins are what gets me going there the most. You're not confined to just choosing boba only. Probably within 5 mins, maybe even sooner. I was surprised. Everything looked clean, seemed clean--the chain boba shops I've seen don't seem to care about too much about cleanliness as long as they're pushing drinks out. This Fresno location is one of two in the Fresno Clovis area. We stumbled across Rare Tea on a recent visit to Fresno. And it was amazingly soooo good. What makes the difference in particular with their teas, is that they brew their teas fresh and made to order using their specialty press machine. I have found that the rare occasion where boba places have these machines makes all the difference as most other boba places have their tea sitting in large pots and brewed in advance where they have to reheat in the case that you order a hot drink. Oolong milk tea is my benchmark to compare across the many boba places I seek out. And this one certainly is at the top of my list. Finally had the opportunity to try this tea joint. They have one in Clovis , but I'm so glad they open a shop here northwest of town. We went grand opening day and had the BOGO offer , buy one get one free. I got the mango milk and it was so good! Perfectly sweetened and half a little mango pulp on the bottom. It was delightful to drink! My husband got the uji matcha latte and just as good. Strong matcha flavor and also perfect level of sweetness. The drinks didn't taste water down. Even on their grand opening, they were on top of things. The order came out so fast, 5 mins and the drinks were out. Super impressed on operations of the store. Loved their drinks!! You can control sugar and ice. They have a variety of milk teas and fruit teas. Unfortunately, they gave removed some items that weren't popular here in the Fresno community. I understand that they need to cater to the preferences of the community but it would have been really nice to try their taro milk tea with red bean! Coming from the bay area, i have really missed popular drinks like that. The employee at the cash register really took his time to explain drinks to me and i really appreciate it. I've never been to Rare tea myself so my review won't be based on the service but more of the drinks themselves! My friend had bought me their Thai tea to try many months ago and I remember liking it! But today a friend had me try their caramel brûlée since it was his favorite so I guess I expected more from it. It felt a bit watered down so I'd request less ice next time (I think my Thai tea had light ice but since it's months ago, I don't remember) but because of that, the flavor was a bit lacking. I didn't get much of it so I didn't really enjoy my drink. I'd like to actual go there myself in the future to take a look at their menu and give them another try but for sure I'll be requesting light ice on all of the drinks.
