Im sorry but the sushi here is terrible. It was so bad I barely ate. I felt bad for the kids because it was our daughter's birthday and we didn't say anything but later my husband and I were just shocked it stays in business. As for the karaage, it was a decently sized portion, and comes with a wedge of lemon and some tartar/mayo-like sauce. This particular location in U Village is VERY convenient. If you are waiting for a table, you can always go shop for yoga pants at Lululemon nearby or grab a quick drink at Ba Bar. So what's keeping me from giving this a place 5 stars? The prices are steep. I feel my Resy credit through my Amex Platinum credit card is the saving grace that keeps me coming back. Also, their happy hour hours are Mon-Fri 3pm-5pm, which ends way too early. We ordered the Setto for 2-4. It filled us up and had food left. Depending on how hungry you are, I'd recommend 3 for this set. The nigiri and sashimi were highlights, both so fresh and clean. The salmon was buttery and we didn't need soy sauce to enjoy it. I loved the veg role "green machine" the sauce they use was amazing. What brought me here was the fact that I had a local hotel room, and I had a serious craving for sushi, and what better place to satiate that craving than visit their pleasant newest location. Upon entry I asked to sit at their sushi bar, as the time I arrived they were not too filled with customers. Ty, who served as my server was gracious enough to lead me through their most popular items from their menu. The menu at Bamboo Sushi is separated into categories including Starters, Tempura, Crispy Rice, Signature Sashimi, Oysters, Nigiri, Sashimi, Signature Rolls, Chef's Specials, The Classics, Curated Experiences, Not Sushi, Dessert, and their Beverage menu. They also a seasonal special menu that had a number of intriguing items. I always like to sample the Nigiri whenever I order Japanese cuisine, and at Bamboo Sushi, I ordered their two piece Amberjack which was lightly topped with Yuzu and Black Truffle Salt. With an emphasis in Kanpachi, the Nigiri at Bamboo Sushi represented a taste wonderfully harmonious between marbled and a traditionally fishy taste, and was the perfect bite to start my lunchtime meal. Since I was so famished, I ordered two rolls from the Signature Rolls section of their menu, including their Full Circle, which was a combination of spicy albacore, tempura fried green onion, seared tuna, watercress and topped with crispy onions and citrus ginger dressing; and I ordered The Unicorn, which was a combination of spicy crab, shrimp tempura, albacore, avocado, and served on a bed of jalapeño dressing and gochugaru oil and topped with micro cilantro. Of the two Signature Rolls, The Unicorn was the better of the two thanks to the abundance of jalapeño dressing and gochugaru oil which also helped to provide an nice spicy kick and extra flavor. My total bill was $57.38 which for two rolls and two pieces of Nigiri was on the pricier side, but with the quality sushi being offered at Bamboo Sushi, it is well worth the higher price point. I cannot wait to come back and try more of their uniquely crafted rolls from their Friday the 13th to their Garden of Eden, as at Bamboo Sushi they are thinking of both their loyal clientele and the future of the planet by crafting forward-thinking sushi creations, and for this reason, they have a new fan in me! read more

4 stars for food/value, 5 stars for service I went here for Monday dinner and got seated immediately without needing to make a reservation. While I intended to dine in, something last minute came up and the waitress was willing to accommodate me to make the entire order takeout. I got the Green Machine and Spicy Albacore rolls. Food came out decently fast and packaged nicely, and any requests were fulfilled quickly. The Green Machine I opted to not add anything to savor the true flavors of the roll (though most people would add salmon if they want to enhance the roll). It was really delicious with the tempura fried green bean and the cilantro sweet chili aioli, which were the dominant flavors, but the avocado and green onion flavors were present too. The spicy albacore was decent - has a bit stronger fishy flavor than expected, but still pretty fresh. The rolls were okay priced. Granted, I got the less expensive rolls that delivered, $15 for the vegetarian Green Machine is okay but the other seafood based rolls are $20 before tax and tip for presumably similar portions can be quite steep, since I'd need about 2 rolls to be adequately full. Service is excellent - while waiting for the order, I was served water and the waitress asked if I wanted something else to drink but I was good. When I went to pay, they were able to accommodate using 2 cards as I wanted to use respective cards for the monthly Resy credit, even though I was a solo diner, so I really appreciated that! read more

You're definitely coming here for the ambience and vibes. We went during dinner time so there was a line of people waiting for seats. There's no buzzer or texting system so you have to wait outside in the walkway which is already chaotic because there are other mall goers using the walkway to get to other places. Because of that this place would really benefit with a texting or buzzer system especially when the wait gets 20+ minutes long and people are expected to stand right in front near the already packed crowd. The receptionist though and other workers were friendly so I suppose that makes up for some part of that chaotic system. Now going on to the food. We got the Bamboo Dragon, Friday the 13th, Full Circle, and the Chicken Karaage. The prices are pretty average for a sushi roll around $20-25 but I would say it is not really worth the price. Also to note, maybe this was just a rough batch of rice but I found the rice on all the rolls to be too mushy and not fragrant at all which was sort of disappointing. The Bamboo Dragon was fun to eat but the flavor is essentially a California roll so if you love California rolls this would be right up your alley. The Friday the 13th had a slight kick from the gochugaru and also a slight smokiness perhaps from some charring of the fish on top. The Full Circle was my least favorite as the fish inside was minced like and the sushi basically had one texture - mushy. Additionally, I couldn't really taste the fish. Skip the chicken karaage. The batter was nice and thin and light but the fry was not well done, you could taste the flouriness from the batter. Additionally, the chicken itself was pretty dry and very bland. The saving point is the dill mayo sauce that it comes with, but because of the lack of moisture and flavor, the amount of sauce provided is not enough. When we first looked through the menu we saw that there was a black sesame brownie. I love black sesame and I love brownie so thought about getting that. However, after having tasted everything, we decided against the dessert assuming it would not meet the black sesame expectations because everything else was very mild in flavor, including the item they're known for, their sushi. If someone has tried this and can vouch for it being really delicious please let me know, but we could just not reason to ourself to spend the money just to (assumingly) likely be disappointed. I think presentation of everything was nice, it'd be good to come here if you're trying to impress someone or just have a nice looking meal with some good hospitality from the workers, but flavors here are lacking and their organization system to get a table if you come when it's busy is behind in todays technology and systems. read more

There is plenty of seating inside and its very modernly decorated. I got the negihama roll and spicy scallop roll, and also shared a green machine roll. I loved the negihama - it was perfectly seasoned and the freshness of the fish shone through. The spicy scallop roll was decent but quite an alarming shade of red, and overall wasn't my favorite. However, the green machine roll was the star of the show. I was never a vegetarian sushi person, but something about this roll was so good! Came here for a late lunch with friends while visiting the Sakura festival at the UW. Convenient location, indoor and outdoor seating. The hostess was horrible. No eye contact, no smile, we asked to be seated outside and after 30 minutes of waiting she briskly walked us to an indoor table. One of my friends insisted on a table outside (they were all available) and the hostess rolled her eyes. After another 30 minutes of waiting we were finally seated with no eye contact or a word spoken. The food is ok. They push their "we're the first SUSTAINABLE sushi restaurant" but what this means is mainly farm raised fish. The rolls are $20+ per roll. My 1 roll + small sunomono salad and a cup of tea were $60. After we ordered, our server came up and let us know the kitchen had made an extra Green Machine Roll on accident and asked if we wanted it, of course we said yes, and wow, it was SO good. The sauce on top was ridiculously delicious. We also ordered a side of seared salmon, and let me tell you... its melt in your mouth good! For our main meal, we went with the TOMODACHI Experience, and it did not disappoint. It was more than enough for our group of four, with such a great variety of rolls and flavors. Everything was beautifully presented and truly delicious. We also added a dozen oysters to the mix, fresh and perfect. The only tiny complaint: the watermelon mojito was refreshing and tasty, but the mint leaves kept getting stuck in the straw. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Overall, this place is a gem. I've dined here a couple of times and all of the dishes that I tried were outstanding. What stood out to me was the cuts of the fish from the sashimi. They were really precise. I also really enjoyed the marinade on the crudo. The star for me is the crispy rice spicy tuna and the avocado. It is done really well here and even with delivery the rice doesn't lose its texture. I've tried the black cod which was buttery and silky. The grilled peppers are also outstanding adding a nice balance of tartness to bring out the umami in the other dishes. This was honestly, the first time in the last decade that a server was attentive, cleared my plates in a sequential order, and the courses were spaced out with drinks.
