We were so lucky he agreed to drive well outside of his usual area to perform. His illusions were mesmerizing, and he expertly handled a room full of inquisitive and skeptical kids by getting most of them involved in his performance. He gave a great message in the end of the performance also, drawing on the themes of inclusion and acceptance from the Harry Potter stories, which the adults present also mentioned as being a highlight. We cannot say enough great things about his professionalism and performance and we would highly recommend him for any event!

Vick had a wonderful story line and great tricks that kept everyone's attention! We had some guests that are very skeptical of magic tricks, and he still blew them away! I'm so happy we had him! We ended up starting his show a little late, unfortunately, but he was incredibly patient, set-up, and mingled with a few guests while he waited! He then put on a 45-50 minute show for all of us, and included some guests, my father, and us in the show! I highly recommend him for ANY event -- weddings, birthdays (children AND adult), social events, etc. Thanks, Vick!

I had the pleasure of being drawn by Sue at our company's quarterly meeting / team building event…read moreduring my visit to the main office in the Northern Virginia / DC Area. Her portraits were good enough that we kept them to decorate our office! She was very talented, taking about 15 minutes to do really funny yet accurate paintings of our "best features". Sue painted both individuals and couples and even included highlights such as my boss and his numbers, and his wife and her shopping. She certainly captured my spiky buzzcut correctly! Side note: Either HR or accounting did the booking, but I believe you hire the artist through About Face's webpage and can see different portfolios.

I booked a party with a charicature artist for 3 hours (to the tune of $555.00 through my party…read moreplanner). During that time, only about 7-8 drawings were done and there were people in line for additional drawings. The artist did not know what the charges were for two more hours but I agreed and subsequently learned that during the drawing sessions with each party, significant time was taken for the artist to try to sell his own personal products to my party guests, and they were all shown a book to purchase. The following day the credit card was charged an additional $370.00 for TWO HOURS without any additional invoicing, and only a total of approximately 12 drawings were done during this 5 hour period. I brought it to management's attention and they told me too bad, so sad. The artist is well liked and they haven't had other complaints. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and extremely disappointing treatment of their customer. They should be embarrassed!

First of all, all the info you need happens to be on their IG and FB pages. Most importantly, they have an Open House every Thursday at accommodating hours to tour both event spaces. The event spaces are both amazing! Plenty of parking in the back and front, and shared spaces that they'll share once you book. Clean, spacious premises. Spacious kitchen, nice restrooms. The communication w Mrs. T was stellar. She's the owner and very professional and pleasant. Her contract addresses everything you can think of and it's convenient. In addition to hall rental, you're able to rent furniture items, receive décor referrals if needed, and more. Attending the Open House was truly a 1 stop shop. I highly recommend this event hall to any and everyone looking for an upscale, well reputable establishment for rental. This place surely presents a wow factor and I'm grateful to have experienced 5 Starr Events Hall.

My husband and I got married last weekend and hired Neil from Golden Productions to be our DJ. He…read morehandled A LOT throughout the day - the music for the ceremony in one ballroom, and then the music for the reception in another, as well as running the photo booth that we rented from the company (at a great price!) We met him over a year before our wedding at a party expo (see, those things really do come in handy sometimes!) and we clicked immediately. Now that the party is over, my husband and I agree that hiring Neil was absolutely the right move! One of the things that sets Golden apart from other companies is that they make the party about you. A lot of DJ's or bands are really flashy, over the top, in your face - - people end up watching them instead of watching the bride and groom. We're far from narcissists, but we also wanted to keep the focus on why we were all there. Neil excelled at this, knowing the right moments to step in, funny little things to say, and he worked the mic like the pro that he is. He was one of the few DJ's that I know who told us to request as many songs as we wanted and he knew what to pick and choose while reading the dance floor. He also has a really great set up for the introductions to the reception which include a video or audio message from the bride and groom before they walk out to their music of choice. People literally keep talking to us about how cool that was, and it added a really special memory to starting the reception. If you are looking for a DJ for your event, we would hands down recommend Golden Productions. Neil is a pro, knows the industry well (and has for a very long time) and can run a party!
