Venue, catering, event coordinators and a planning guide all included together which made every step of the process a breeze. The organization among all of the event coordinators was incredible. They all really made us feel like family from the moment we first toured until we packed up our final things at the end of the reception. One ongoing perk we will surely take advantage of is the lifetime VIB discount at the Owl Bar! Incredibly professional and an organization that really knows what they are doing. Would love to do it all over again! The 13th floor is now only open for private events but I say it's a perfect opportunity to host an amazing party!

A NIGHTMARE for What Should've Been a Joyous Occassion…read more I hosted my 30th birthday brunch at The Belvedere, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The food was served cold I, the guest of honor, received my meal last. The service staff was disorganized and unprofessional: drinks were served in glasses with visible mold, a guest was spilled on with syrup, place cards were ignored. (Which I had to MAKE MYSELF to add) After submitting a detailed formal complaint, their response was both disappointing and dismissive. They blamed the cold food and disorganized service on my late arrival -- which, while true, does not excuse the breakdown in execution. The original schedule was for starters to be served at 12:45 and entrées at 1:10. Due to my delay, starters were served at 1:20 -- only 35 minutes off -- yet entrées didn't arrive until 2:30, nearly an hour later. Even with the slight delay in the start, the kitchen had ample time to follow the adjusted timeline. Their excuse was that the food was ready at 12:45 -- but if that's the case, why was it not served until nearly two hours later, after we'd already finished starters by 1:45? Rather than take any accountability for the cold meals, lack of coordination, and overall poor service, they deflected blame and offered no refund, no accommodation, and no solutions. At first they offered to sit down with us & the team to discuss further. But once we added we wanted to bring statements from guest to eliminate the "he said, she said"at the advice of an attorney, they stopped communicating with us entirely. After we pleaded with them that we were not seeking council or legal action they still never responded. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make things right only deepened the disappointment. This was supposed to be a joyful milestone event, and instead it became a source of stress and embarrassment. I do not recommend The Belvedere for any event unless you want terrible service, communication, and professionalism. If you stayed this far the venue was beautiful. But at what cost? Not the amount of money, time & effort put into this day to just be silenced and not considered at all.

The space is gorgeous, but also somewhat of a blank slate that will lend itself to your artistic vision. As I toured other venues for a year after initially seeing The Dye House, my mind always wandered back to it... We were not the easiest clients to deal with (admittedly!) but Janin was always responsive and tried to accommodate us. I had unique ideas involving set up and tables and they were very open. We ended up working with Linda on the actual day of, who made sure everything went smoothly when we had to "flip" the room due to pouring rain. She was awesome. Initially, when it became clear that it was going to be too rainy to have our wedding outside in the courtyard, I was sad, but now looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. Having the ceremony inside in the big room was ethereal, romantic, and intimate. All of our guests commented on how gorgeous it was in there...very glowy and dreamlike. I loved it! It was super moist and so good with the buttered balls spread on it. For my main, I chose the Shrimp and Scallops Etouffe. The pieces were large and the creole sauce was excellent. After dinner, our member friend took us on a tour of the mansion. It was great seeing the different rooms. This place was huge and the architecture was really beautiful. What an amazing experience to be able to dine here and explore this space!

The Engineer's Club is located in the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Mount Vernon. It's the city's oldest private social club, but it hosts events and weddings in addition to serving its membership functions. It was an absolutely stunning venue for an opera. The staircase, the wood, the stage...! If you love architecture, you just have to see it for yourself (may in combination with that other gorgeous building just down the street - you know the one!). Definitely adding it to my list of Baltimore's most beautiful buildings. If you have a chance, don't hesitate to visit for a performance or event. I know I'll be back for another opera next season. They also offer tours, which I am adding to my must do in Baltimore list!

Such a beautiful building for hosting the Welcome Home Veterans of Foreign Wars, especially those…read morethat served in Vietnam. It was an annual ceremony given for Veterans and their families, who have served and were not recognized and given thanks for all they contributed for freedom. Especially interesting was a POW soldier who was in an enemy prison for 6 years. There were many stories shared. All branches of the armed forces were there and they were key note speakers. Also some political representatives (local). They had a fantastic buffet meal for all.

That's important for this venue, as it replaced the old Dulles Expo Center, located in Chantilly, VA, which unfortunately became an IKEA. For this tournament, we stayed at the La Quinta Inn Downtown Baltimore, which is about 15 minutes away, but I wouldn't recommend it at all unless you have a really tight budget. I'll be reviewing that travesty next, but that doesn't affect my review here. The space here was very large, and the Supernova staff made adequate use of it. It was a bit of a pain to go in first thing, but that's expected at cons/conventions, as people usually have bags on the first day. The other days went more smoothly. The staff was cordial and pretty friendly. They didn't allow outside food or drinks, which I can partially understand if they want to sell stuff there, but the options there were extremely overpriced, such as paying $5 for a can of Diet Coke. The staff was still pretty lenient and allowed some drinks, so thanks. In terms of food options, there was a Papa John's, which I did not partake in, a few other places selling salads and sandwiches, and one other place where I got most of my food. While I didn't like the AI imagery, aside from waiting and eating later, I mostly had stuff from Addy's Barbeque, a halal BBQ spot with two other locations in MD and VA. The brisket was alright, the smashburger wasn't the best, and the tenders were decent. The "Special Sauce" wasn't half bad either. Nice giant venue, and I could see why it was picked. Would go again next year.

They hold the biggest nursery convention in the US here in Jan. Every year. This year the weather…read morewas great and people were out in force. Record attendance this year!! The facility itself is good but the surrounding area is waning. There were two hotels hooked to the convention center one of them is closed. the Marriot around the corner is old and falling apart. It just looks rough and I had no hot water during my stay. There are other hotels around the area but the ones that are attached allowed you to not to have to go outside. The Hilton is still open but it fills up really fast. Some of the places to eat around the convention center have closed and in general it is just going down hill all around here. The convention center itself is nice. Well planned out, well put together, and spacious. They have food to eat in the convention, they have lots of place to get drinks or snacks, the bathrooms are kind of small but there are a few of them. And this show is filled with attendees and booths! Through no fault of the convention center it is getting less desirable to attended this show. The area is deteriorating and getting less and less safe. If it keeps heading this way this show could fall apart!
