I came here for the CIAA Fan Fest last weekend and had a balllllll. I feel as if I've been here for other events but have not made a review til recently. No idea but I enjoyed myself here. The establishment is clean, organized and easy to access. For CIAA in particular I car-pooled and was dropped off but there are surrounding parking garages available. I mean... it's a convention center. It was large, kind of bland, and the signage was confusing my first conference day. I can't blame the space planning on the convention center, but the wildly popular panels were in tiny rooms and had to turn people away. The ones with less than 50 people were in huge rooms. It happened so often! Beside the usual set up of convention centers, I want to talk about the food since that's really the only thing to discuss beside sprawling, undecorated rooms. There were, by my count, two concession stands. Both were wildly understocked and understaffed! The top floor had a meat lover's paradise: meatball subs, beef hot dogs, meat lasagna (I think), etc. Here's the kicker, though: almost no one was at this one. The other was in the entryway, which caused massive congestion. The lines were insanely long, even at 3 pm when I ate (on West Coast time). They offered something called a "Spanish bowl" and that was their only offering. You could get either chicken or tofu, and by the time I was there, they were out of tofu and most of the toppings. Being a vegetarian, I spent $34 on rice, beans, shredded iceberg lettuce, a bag of chips, and a water. It took about 25 minutes to get. I also need to argue, on a philosophical level, that there was nothing Spanish (or really Mexican) at all about this bowl. Being from California, I think they were overselling it. They should call it "Tex Mex Bowl." Either way, it wasn't very good. But, like I said, it's a convention center, so I didn't really expect better. In that sense, it met my expectations. read more

This convention center is massive and had enough room this weekend for not just a Pokemon event, Gaming event but also a BTS merchandise pickup that had hundreds because of the concert. Centered in the middle of downtown with ample places to enter, def a popular spot for big conventions. read more

They hold the biggest nursery convention in the US here in Jan. Every year. This year the weather was great and people were out in force. Record attendance this year!! The facility itself is good but the surrounding area is waning. There were two hotels hooked to the convention center one of them is closed. the Marriot around the corner is old and falling apart. It just looks rough and I had no hot water during my stay. There are other hotels around the area but the ones that are attached allowed you to not to have to go outside. The Hilton is still open but it fills up really fast. Some of the places to eat around the convention center have closed and in general it is just going down hill all around here. The convention center itself is nice. Well planned out, well put together, and spacious. They have food to eat in the convention, they have lots of place to get drinks or snacks, the bathrooms are kind of small but there are a few of them. And this show is filled with attendees and booths! Through no fault of the convention center it is getting less desirable to attended this show. The area is deteriorating and getting less and less safe. If it keeps heading this way this show could fall apart! read more

This convention center is ginormous! I do like that there are multiple hotels nearby the convention center. However, way finding is amiss at this convention center especially when locating the entrance of your convention on the first day. At least I knew where to go, but I could have been easily lost if I wasn't told by the organizers specifically where to go on the first day. There's lots of panhandlers and solicitors outside, so you have to ignore them when walking around the perimeter of the convention center. I found myself checking out the eateries close to the convention center and not eating the overpriced food inside the convention center. The conference spaces were just okay. I could hear the noises from the adjacent spaces so sound insulation wasn't quite a priority during construction. This conference center is pretty dated, although ample in indoor and outdoor spaces. read more

Great location and venue. The Baltimore Convention Center is very easy to locate and navigate throughout. The onsite caterers are pretty good. It would be nice if they had more food vendors for non catered events. A wider variety. Most of the employees are kind and helpful. I've visited for conferences, car shows, college fairs, health fairs, etc. The premises are always clean as well as the bathrooms. I look forward to attending more events at this venue in the future. read more

Came here for Baltimore Comic Con - the venue itself is incredibly large, and well-kept. It's within walking distance to the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor (excellent mid-tier hotel) and right next to the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor. There is an atm inside on the 2nd floor, but it charges a fee. I found a free atm (for discover) at the 7/11 on the corner W Lombard and South Paca, but that's right where the area starts to get a bit sketchy so be alert. There is also a Jimmy John's right next door if you're looking for a quick/inexpensive bite while at the center. For the convention itself: Bottom floor housed several signings, food court, and artist alley/merch. Second floor housed sign-ins. If you hadn't bought auto/photos before the con online, you can buy cash only at the actual signing/photo. It's actually cheaper this way because you're not charged online booking fees. The check-in process on the 2nd floor was a bit chaotic and unorganized; staff didn't seem aware of where to go/how things worked in general. This was a rather small con. You probably don't need to get to panels more than 30 min in advance, and that's just to get a good seat. To get in you can just walk right in as it starts. read more

Not my favorite convention center to visit. You have to go up and down so many stairs/escalators to get around and it seems like, inevitably, your conference is always on the opposite side of the venue from where you enter. The vendor showroom floor is uncomfortable to walk and stand on for multiple days. Staff seem to be mostly friendly, which might be one redeeming quality. read more

I came to the Baltimore convention center for a career convention. It was my first time here and my first impression is that this place is huge. With the massive square footage; it makes it difficult to navigate without proper signage. I did notice that it is bright, open and clean though. There is no parking garage at the actual building but there are many parking garages nearby that you can park for hourly rates. I didn't purchase food so I cannot comment on that but this location in the downtown area and a few blocks away from the Inner Harbor and restaurants. read more

Another positive year at the Baltimore Comic-Con convention! I love coming here this will be my 5th Year coming and again I brought my family. It is a great convention for ages and I enjoy coming to see artists, Stars and creative people vending here. This is a great place to come in costume especially since Halloween is coming up. We all dressed as a family and we had a great time taking pictures of other families doing the same. It was my birthday weekend, so it felt like everyone was coming out for me! The staff and communities that come here are super friendly you can always make a new friend when you come here and find someone who is interested in the same things that you are. Let your geek flag fly high! It is spacious and multi-level about four levels altogether with lots of spots for relaxing. Whenever I felt that I needed a break from the chaos downstairs, I would just go upstairs to the different areas to eat or just sit down and charge my phone. They have specific areas where you can recharge your things. Escalators, elevators, stairs there are so many ways to get around the convention center. Restrooms are created for families, all genders and separated by gender, so you have a safe rest area for your privacy. Also, if you are staying at the Hilton you are connected to the convention center, so it's very accessible from there. read more

Came here for a conference recently... Been here a few times over the years for conferences and the conference center is decent. Parking is horrible, as there's not convenient and close parking attached, unless you use the over-priced hotels nearby, which gouge you at $50/day if there's an exciting event going on. Overall, not quite sure why people have conferences in this city... this past weekend I saw a person that appeared to be strung out on drugs walking down the middle of the street in front of this convention center with their pants down and their bare bottom totally exposed. I also saw a few groups of motorcycles blocking traffic and having their convoy through the city of over 200 motorcycles, all while not stopping for any red lights. I hardly saw any police, though I did see a few unarmed security guards in little electric carts. I say all that about the area around the convention center to say it didn't make any of us attending this recent conference feel very safe, secure, comfortable, nor valued by the city. read more

This facility is at the Inner Harbor location downtown Baltimore. The size becomes an issue to navigate without large signs that would point out where you would head to for meetings or the exhibits hall. The good news is that most staff is very friendly, and the facility restrooms are clean and kept well-maintained during the conference. The chairs or potential meeting/networking is limited, mainly held to the second floor. The air conditioning is a major plus, especially when the humidity and temperatures are high outside. read more

What a fun time here for the Governor's Ball!!! My favorite part? The skywalk that connected my hotel to the event of course! The main room where the Governor had his first dance with his wife as well as where the amazing music played, Made this a really comfortable amazing event to attend. My first event in a crowd of that magnitude and it was comfortable! The indoor temps were great, the spaciousness of it, the beautiful blue. The entire center was really nice, plenty of seating to rest between visiting the different halls - especially when you're in high heels! haha! read more

Been here a bunch of times now for science conventions. Not a bad facility and pretty close to many hotels within walking distance. Pretty close to the harbor and downtown area so it offers an opportunity to check out different places to eat and assorted nightlife venues. Some good spots to chow down on crabcakes near by! The building itself is well maintained, clean, has good AC, and even though a bit on the older side serves it's purpose. A few spots to grab a bite and Starbucks on-site. The overall layout is long and a bit winding with upper and lower convention space areas, but that's pretty norm with these facilities. Overall, the staff here seemed pleasant enough. The Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor hotel is pretty much connected to it which makes it super convenient if you stay here. Plus, Camden Yards is across the street and about a 5 minute walk. read more

Overall a decent convention center with all things considered. I would say the main issues are parking, internet connectivity, and just how much they need to repaint or clean things - showing its age. I have been here multiple times over the years, each time making it more obvious how deteriorated the place is - and that they need to take better care of it. Walls have wear - markings from old signage, dirty in corners, and really a lack of overall maintenance. In recent years - it has really shown its age. With being here for conventions - parking can be a nightmare especially if you have a cargo van (expect parking to run $40 at an outdoor lot) and car parking depending on what is going on in the area with sports to be $10-30. Nice location - can rub elbows with rougher crowds but overall, just ok. read more

I attended the AAHOACON '22 at the Convention Center centrally located on the famed Charm'tastic Mile in the heart of downtown, and it was a spectacular conference. The host and attendees really enjoyed their stay here in Charm City (Est.1975). The vendors were very informative. There was a lot of great energy during the 4-day conference. The Block Party and Friday Night Gala were amazing. Looking forward to AAHOACON '23 in Los Angeles. read more

*This review is for the mass covid vaccination site being run out of the Baltimore Convention Center* After pre-registering for mass vax locations all across MD, the UMMS site at the Baltimore Convention Center was the first to notify me that there were open appointments available. Scheduling via their one-time use link was easy and they provided very detailed instructions on what to expect upon arrival, how to sign up for the patient portal, etc. Note: there is NO free parking at this site, so you must get dropped off or park in one of the garages nearby. BCC is huge, so it's important to know where to go: the only entrance is on Charles Street, heading towards the Kona Grill. I was confused at first, but as I was walking towards the right direction, I saw plenty of signs with arrows affirming the way. Yes, there will be lines, but it will move quickly. I was in-and-out in ~45 mins, which includes the 15 minute wait time post-shot. Tons of workers/volunteers were on-site, helping move things along (sending hearts and appreciation their way). read more

I came here for a scientific conference. The convention center is huge and old. It was definitely confusing at first where each type of rooms are. The ballrooms are on the fourth floor and you have to be at the correct half of the center. They are being inclusive by changing some of the bathrooms to be gender neutral. Stopped in to the convention center while in town for business. I have to say, I'm impressed by its size. It also is pretty awesome that it is connected to other local buildings such as the Hilton. The multiple levels are probably a good selling point, but do leave you wandering around trying to find what you are looking for. And outside the size, there isn't much to talk about. The place was kept clean, but the staff didn't bother to clear the snow and ice off the sidewalk until late in the afternoon. Having been to convention centers in Philly and NYC, I feel Baltimore's can certainly hang with that crowd. However, it does nothing to define itself or in any matter stand out. The Convention center is a pretty cool spot. I was recently there for the Baltimore City High School fair. I decided to take my students and my daughter. The Convention center is located in a convenient spot of Baltimore, close to all of the highways. it is very big, clean and I never have any complaints whenI come here. It's kind of hard to leave a review about this place because we were here for a special event...The Voice tryouts and the actual building was only for contestants (my wife). The kids and I were rudely told that we couldn't even stay inside. Communication with the public was terrible. This place is huge. The building looks outdated and old, but the people are nice. The exhibit halls are giant. I would use parking panda or some other application to find inexpensive parking if you are attending an event for the day. Inner Harbor is close by. Bottom Line: A large and dated convention center near hotels and restaurants and right next to the Light Rail station. The Baltimore Convention Center is very large and it can host multiple events at the same time. There are multiple levels and it spans several blocks with pedestrian sky bridges going over the streets. The convention center also attaches to the Hilton via a pedestrian sky bridge. Conveniently there is a Starbucks inside and the LightRail station is right outside. The convention center decor is dated but I don't expect many go here for the ambiance. There are many hotels and restaurants within walking distance and the beautiful Oriole Park at Camden Yards is right next door. read more

While the space is large, it is dirty and outdated. There was no wifi connectivity the week I was here. I had concerns with security allowing people to enter who were not part of the conference. Also, security was not properly monitoring crowds. See a photo of the excessive crowding that was occurring in hallways which was a safety issue. Food served here was mediocre. My first time at the Baltimore Convention Center - for the 2012 HITEC convention. Overall, a fairly nice and well maintained convention center. The AC worked well, which can be a problem at some older convention centers. Inside the main hall we were in - there were lots of food options for eating lunch. There is also a Starbucks at the top of the escalators. One of the longest lines I've ever seen for a Starbucks! The one thing they need to spend some time on is improving the Mens Restrooms. They were looking a little rough and many of the paper towel holders were hanging open and could not be secured. read more

There is always something going on here. Comicon, My little pony festival, Tractor convention (yes I am serious)....That part is cool. I love the diversity. I just think it could be more inviting outside. Lots of security, but a few booths outside to draw people INSIDE would be cool! that way....people just walking by would KNOW what the convention was about....(unless it is obvious because a 6 foot man is dressed in a bright pink horse tail, purple horse ears and a backpack that screams my little pony). I love the fact it is so close to the Inner Harbor....and again....love the diversity! read more

I have been to over 25-different convention centers for the annual NRPA conference and the Baltimore convention center location needs a lot of work and updates. Many of the session rooms were too hots with an aging HVAC system that does not cool. The building shows a lot of wear and tear on both the old and new sides. The bathrooms are old and dirty. I think we all know what a convention center does, so we don't need to go into explicit detail explaining the place. What you do need to know (for out of towners) is this: For those unfamiliar with this area, it's right next to the Oriole's stadium and the Harbor as well. It's not the newest convention center and bathrooms are sparse, but the place does the job in terms of maintaining. Cell reception is spotty. Ventilation is adequate. Parking is readily available nearby but a pain, as you can expect in any city. I've found the parking garages that are a couple blocks (walking distance) away cheaper and more open in terms of parking spaces. read more

This convention center is huge. I've been to a concert here that only occupied one room, and I've been to Otakon that occupies the entire venue. It's so big that I'm constantly lost wandering it. Other than that, it does serve it's purpose well. It's conveniently located near the light rail for commuters, and near the inner harbor for all of the food options. I wish the basement esque rooms had better reception. I work as a dealer for Otakon and when trying to make credit card transactions, I frequently have to walk away from my booth and head towards the opposite wall near the bathrooms to get the signal to work. read more
