Beef Hoagie with sides of beets and apple sauce.

First time trying Lithuanian food and it was delicious! I highly recommend eating at Baltic Bites food truck! I tried the Beef Sausage hoagie with sides of beets and apple sauce and it was very filling and tasty. Typically food trucks aren't the healthiest option to eat at but Baltic Bites is an exception to that rule. I was very surprised to be able to order a nutritious meal from a food truck. The owners of the truck are also very friendly and provide great hospitality in helping you decide what to order. I followed their social media and will make a point to seek them out again whenever they are in my area because that is how delicious and unique their food is.

A food truck with soul! Definitely refreshing to find a good truck that offers European food. Portions size huge and food was delicious! We will definitely come back!

Delicious food from very nice people. We had the cabbage wrap with beet salad and potato salad and chicken dumplings with garlic bread. Everything was delicious and I loved the white sauce on the dumplings and wrap.

A Lithuanian food truck. Not sure I've seen this specific food type from a truck before, but why not? I think this truck will only get better. They've only just begun operating. It's a limited menu for this inaugural run. The pasties, available in chicken, mushroom or cheese, were okay. The shell was light and flaky, the mushroom filling with its large mushroom slices was a good balance. These have to be eaten warm, though. If they cool, the shell gets soggy and that combined with the consistency of the filling, makes for a too-soft meal. You probably won't be hungry after you eat a couple of them though, especially with the salad sides. The cabbage salad -- not unlike coleslaw, but didn't have the tanginess of a vinegar base or the creaminess of a mayo base. It really is a salad of cabbage with bits of carrots and black pepper and a slight hint of seasoning. It was good. So, too, was the rice salad with the cucumbers and corn in a slightly creamy base. Neither of the two salads had bold flavors, but that's not unusual. The dessert: not really a fan of these. Pastry pieces sprinkled with powdered sugar. They weren't bad, just not my thing. BalticBites is teetering on the edge between three and four stars. As they get more experience, I look forward to seeing what other items might show up on the menu. It's different and that's a welcome change.

The first day I moved to Raleigh from Austin, TX, I came to Camden Westood to sign my lease and came across this awesome Lithuanian food truck. The owners were so nice and welcoming when I told them I was new to town and had never tried Lithuanian food before. The man told me their business was all the hard work and dreams of his wife wanting to spread their culture so I told them to just order me up their best dish which they recommended the cabbage roll combo. LET ME TELL YOU... I had never tasted anything like it. This roll of cabbage was packed with flavor and strangely paired with the side of apple sauce of all things it enhanced the flavor?! I'm drooling just thinking about it. As I was leaving, the woman gave me some Lithuanian dessert cake to welcome me to town and just about melted my heart. Since COVID, my apartment hasn't had foodtrucks but I will be making my way there soon!

Comfort food perfect for a cold winter night. Our neighborhood has invited this truck a few times and we have been excited to try it. They gave us so much food. It really is a great value, enough food for a few meals. I ordered three dishes: The beef sausage- it came with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, garlic sticks, and the sausage. My husband loved the sausage. It was like a Polish Keilbasa. Salmon-the sides I selected were beets and saurerkraut with the salmon on a bed of rice. The salmon was succulent with fresh dill and light dressing on top. There was the most delightful mushroom gravy on top of the rice. It was creamy without being overly heavy. The mushrooms tasted fresh like perhaps from a garden. Definately, enjoyed the beets. Will ask for a double beet order next time. Also, I loved the texture of the rye garlic sticks. Next time, I would not order the saurerkraut because it was not served warm. This may be the way Lithuanians prepare it. Chicken pastry-These are homemade everyday by owner. The pastry crust is amazing. I wonder if this comes with other fillings. Note-the chicken was perfectly fine, nice and juicy. The owners were very friendly, nice and helpful. They are a husband and wife team and work well together. The wife is the one who was preparing the foods and the husband was handling the customer service. Also, the service was quick. Hope this food truck comes back soon. What I loved most is the wife is an excellent cook. Everything was homemade with amazing freshness. I

YALL, if you cross paths with this good truck, you absolutely must try! They were serving at bond brothers one night, I tried their chicken kabobs, garlic bread, dumplings with a mushroom sauce, basmati rice and a dessert. PHENOMENAL! I even went back and ordered chicken kabobs to go since I didn't know how long until we met again lol Not only was the food incredibly tasty, the couple who run the truck are just good people. They have a passion and a talent, and it shows! BTW be sure to try their sauces! DO NOT MISS THIS OUT ON THIS FOOD TRUCK!!!

Chicken dumplings, potato salad, sauerkraut, garlic bread, and the chicken pastry. Yuuuuuuuuum!!!

So glad I happened across Baltic Bites during a quick stop into Ponysaurus for a quick beverage on my ride home. Excellent and genuinely friendly service kicks off the experience but when the food comes, oh man, what an experience. This is comfort food made with thought, care, and apparently love because it just fills you with joy. Now I think there is something on the menu for everyone, which is great because some of the things I had that are more specific to that region of the world were just amazing to me and my family, but like any international based cuisine, may not appeal to those that that are super picky about flavor profiles. So yeah, if you only like hotdogs and Mac and cheese, tell them and they will steer you right on your order. Can't wait to track them down again this weekend!

Solid brunch spot with great service and lots of GF options -- execution needs a tune-up (4)…read more Visited The Refectory Cafe on a busy Sunday morning. Parking was tight but doable in the lot. The space is charming inside and out; the shaded patio has a nice vibe, though foot traffic to the entrance passes by those tables. Ordering is walk-up, and food is delivered to the table. Menu is broad with clear gluten-free indicators (huge plus). Coffee was dark and delicious, and service throughout was genuinely warm, knowledgeable, and fast -- easily 5 stars for hospitality. Getting to-go boxes was effortless and we were offered refills often. Food was a mixed bag. My wife had the gluten-free smoked salmon toast with avocado. She wished the veggies and tomato were grilled; the GF bread itself was very good, but the greens/tomato ended up pushed aside. I had the smoked salmon Benedict. The salmon portion felt light, and the hollandaise leaned more toward mustard than citrus and was a bit thin. Breakfast potatoes and veggies were nicely cut and well-seasoned but undercooked; same for the bacon, which tasted more tough than crisp. (I reheated the potatoes/veg at home -- flavor was there once cooked through.) Prices felt reasonable, ingredients seemed thoughtfully sourced, and the team's earnestness shines. With a little tighter execution (fully cooked potatoes/veg, crisper bacon, brighter/thicker hollandaise, slightly more salmon, grilled tomatoes), this would be an easy 5. I'll definitely be back -- I gave it a 3.7 but rounded it up to 4 stars for the service, coffee, and GF-friendly menu options.

What a gem! This café has a warm, inviting vibe with its colorful murals (the sunflower wall…read moreoutside is stunning!) and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. We sat outside under their covered patio; it was drizzling when we arrived, but the space was still comfortable. When sitting outside you have to go inside to place your order but they bring it out to your table. My kids ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. They're a decent size for little ones, topped with fresh strawberries (tip: if your kiddos aren't into strawberries, just ask to have them on the side like I did). You can also add extras like chocolate chips or blueberries for a small up-charge; both of mine loved theirs. I ordered Huevos Rancheros Brunch, which was good. Crispy tostadas loaded with tender shredded steak, beans, lettuce, and cream, and ask for a fried egg cooked medium so the yolk spills out perfectly. It came with pico de gallo and jalapeños on the side (I skipped those, but if you like a kick, i'm sure they will add great flavor). I tried their seasonal S'mores Latte; sweet, creamy, and topped with whipped cream and drizzle. Their dessert case is worth a peek; cakes, cheesecakes, pies, even vegan-friendly options. Didn't have any but next time. The staff were all so kind and welcoming, smiles all around.

Today my husband and I visited Print Works Bistro for a weekday brunch and we loved everything…read moreabout it. It was our first time at Print Works, though I've been to their sister restaurant Green Valley Grill several times. I love the attention to detail when it came to the ambiance of this restaurant, from the lush plants adorning the outdoor patios to the comfortable but elegant chairs to the long curtain panels providing a little separation between other guests. It's truly a beautiful restaurant. I also love that they serve brunch daily! My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, and we both loved the amount of cheese and overall flavor and consistency of the grits. I went with the grilled salmon which is served with a strawberry-tarragon beurre rouge sauce, crème fraîche mashed potatoes and French green beans. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the lightness of the sauce and the creaminess of the mashed potatoes were highlights. We also split an order of the beignets, which are served with honey and a dark chocolate sauce for dipping. Divine. Our waiter was excellent, checking on us regularly but not rushing us in any way. All in all, a great meal with outstanding service, a gorgeous dining room, and affordable prices. We'll definitely return for a date night or another brunch. This would be the perfect place to gather with a group of friends or colleagues, as everyone is likely to find something on the menu they will enjoy and there are plenty of tables to accommodate larger parties. As for attire, I would consider this restaurant to be upscale but not pretentious, and I saw a wide array of attire from business suits to more casual wear I wasn't sure what to expect, and I wore blue jeans with a nicer blouse and did not feel uncomfortable or out of place, though I think I personally might dress a little sharper if going for dinner.

I recently had a team dinner at Print Works Bistro, and unfortunately the experience turned out…read morepretty disappointing. The interior and overall vibe are really nice, and the food was good -- but nothing especially memorable. What completely ruined the evening, though, was the service and how an accident was handled. A server from another table accidentally dropped an entire chocolate dessert shot glass behind me, and I got covered in chocolate -- my neck, hair, sweater, jeans, and even half of our table. Accidents happen, and I totally understand that. What shocked me was that neither the server who dropped it nor my own server reacted or even apologized. My server saw everything happen but didn't hurry to help or check on me. I sat there for more than 15 minutes with chocolate in my hair and all over my clothes. Eventually, I had to call the manager myself and ask for napkins or something to clean up. To the manager's credit, she responded quickly and was helpful. Ironically, my server only came over after the manager had already handled everything. In the end, I left the restaurant with a dirty sweater, stained jeans, and chocolate still in my hair. Instead of properly following up, they simply handed me a business card and told me to email or call about the incident. Honestly, after what happened, why should I have to chase the restaurant for a resolution? A much better approach would have been for someone to ask for my contact information and proactively reach out. Overall, it was a very strange and disappointing experience, especially for a place that presents itself as upscale. Sadly, I wouldn't come back again.
