1/2 Buffalo chicken wrap and potato salad. Potato salad was great
    Wes P.

Stumbled upon this spot looking for a bite in downtown Raleigh. Cute small spot. Great for a quick bite to eat. You can't go wrong with any sandwich. I really loved the buffalo chicken wrap. Def have to recommend the potato salad as a side!

I ordered online and walked over to pick it up. It was ready and waiting on the shelf with my name on it. A large caesar salad with chicken, hold the croutons. The romaine lettuce was perfect. No wilted leaves, no cores mixed in. The chicken was cooked properly and an appropriate amount was added for the upcharge I paid. There was enough dressing and there was enough shredded parrmesan. It's easy to screw up a salad. Carroll's got it completely right and I'll be getting lunch from them again. [Review 12955 overall, 271 of 2020.]

CK's has the best grab and go lunch in downtown Raleigh! I got the tuna salad snack pack with three homemade salads plus cheese slices, but there were also salads, sandwiches, and kolaches! I'll be back soon.

Ordered ahead for lunch and picked up easily. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend. It looks like a small place so I think takeout is best.

It's always great when you get a business that's able to intertwine a great social cause along with great food and Carroll's Kitchen does just that. Serving as both a take-out sandwich shop and also an organization to help women gain business and professional skills. Ever since their launch several years back, the food has been consistently delicious and fresh! From their signature kolaches to pressed sandwiches and pastries, they haven't missed a beat as they moved from Chef Liz to their current chef, Ryan. I had a chance to preview their Winter menu and thumbs up to the meatloaf sandwich which is thick and hearty paired with BBQ sauce and provolone. The Squash Nosh quiche is fantastic, amped up with bacon bits embedded in a soft egg base. Service is solid at Carroll's Kitchen and it's great opportunity for the employees here to work on their customer service skills given the downtown Raleigh crowd. So hooray for Carroll's Kitchen and their staff that make it a delicious and wonderful lunch spot!

Such a great spot downtown for lunch! Great location, great food, great cause. I love their quiches, sandwiches, salads, kolaches and dessert. They always have vegetarian and pescatarian options but don't usually offer vegan options. They offer comfort food with lots of flavor. I ordered a few dishes for Christmas too and it was so convenient and delicious. I love that they support women coming from difficult circumstances to help with employment and education opportunities! You can order online or walk up for quick service. There's no area to dine in but they are some parks nearby to enjoy a bite.

Stopped & got the Turkey Brie! Most delicious sandwich for breakfast!

Stopped in and got the turkey bacon on brie the most delicious sandwich for breakfast would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

Just updating to say I'm SO excited they added a vegan sandwich option - Nina's vegan supreme. (They don't serve it everyday so call and ask). But it's a delicious BLT with avocado and the "B" is smokey and BBQ-y. Got 1/2 vegan supreme and 1/2 tomato basil soup (also vegan) This is one of my favorite places in DTR. I take all my friends here and show it off. The food is delicious and the service is always extremely fast and friendly. I usually get the 2 kolaches and a cup of soup special. I also love that Carroll's Kitchen is giving back to the community, providing employment to those in need, and teaching useful skills. I will continue to go back frequently.

Firecracker Shrimp Wrap with Truffle-Parmesan Fries: My friend had this and she let me try a shrimp and some fries. The shrimp was cooked well and I enjoyed the spice of the sauce. I enjoyed the fries too (really well seasoned), but I liked the Moon Dusted Potatoes that came with my dish more. We both ordered a $5 mimosa to drink, which is a great deal. You also get a complimentary biscuit with jam to start and it is filling. For my meal, I ordered the Flying Biscuit breakfast, which comes with two eggs cooked your way, your choice of bacon or sausage, and their creamy dreamy grits. I went with scrambled eggs and sausage. The sausage was a bit overcooked but the grits were really good. Overall, it was a decent experience, but because of the wait times and inconsistency, this location wouldn't be my first choice.

The toasted sourdough was a nice touch for sopping up bites. The fried okra was a standout--lightly battered, bright green inside, and not soggy (a minor miracle) The chicken tenders had a peppery cornmeal breading that stayed crunchy and paired well with the dipping sauce. But the most nostalgic part was the warm biscuit split open with peach jelly--sweet, sunny, and the perfect finish! As a foodie from the Bay Area who's been spending more time in the Southeast for work, I've been on…read morea bit of a personal mission to understand and appreciate Southern cuisine. It's been an interesting journey--because while I absolutely respect the tradition, my palate has definitely evolved over the years toward lighter, more elevated, visually beautiful food. That said, sometimes you just have to lean in and experience the classics. Tupelo Honey had been on my list for a while, so during a recent work trip to Raleigh-Durham, I decided to check it off. The location is in a very nice, upscale area--one of those shopping districts where, if you see a Whole Foods nearby, you know the neighborhood is going to be polished, safe, and easy to navigate. Parking was simple in a lot across the street, and since I had a reservation, I was seated quickly on the patio, which was lovely and comfortable. For starters, I ordered the "biscuits for a cause," which is a nice touch knowing the proceeds support employee relief and development funds. They were warm and classic Southern biscuits--exactly what you'd expect. For my entrée, I went with the honey-dusted fried chicken (dark meat), a true Southern staple. It was well prepared, flavorful, and satisfying, especially if you're in the mood for something hearty and traditional. I also tried a cocktail called "The Debutante," which was pleasant and refreshing, and finished the meal with the butter pecan cheesecake for dessert. Overall, the meal was good--solid, reliable Southern comfort food--but if I'm being completely honest, it wasn't particularly memorable for me. I was traveling for work and dining on a per diem, so it checked the box for a dependable dinner in a convenient location. As a larger regional chain, it feels a bit like a rite of passage when you're spending time in the Southeast--something you try once to understand the landscape. Bottom line: Tupelo Honey delivers classic Southern comfort food in a polished, accessible setting. Service was smooth, the patio was pleasant, and everything was executed well. For me personally, it was a good experience--but not one I'd necessarily go out of my way to repeat. Still, as I continue eating my way through the Carolinas and beyond, I'm glad I gave it a try.

The place was crowded but there was no wait. I got seated immediately at a table near a column in the middle of the restaurant and Christy came over and asked if I wanted anything to drink. She brought me iced water and gave me time to look at the menu. I wanted to try so many things and I was too optimistic about ordering 3 things and finishing them myself. Good thing I only ordered 2 things! An order of fried catfish with home fries and one egg. And a biscuit with sausage gravy. The fried catfish was salted and well fried. It tasted delicious for my first bite! The home fries were basically cut potatoes, but they weren't very fried or flavored. I wished I ordered the side of apple sauce instead. The biscuit and sausage was good, but a bit too much for one person after eating a separate order already. Definitely bring more people so you can try more things. Also, I wished I had asked for sausage gravy on the side so I can try the biscuit on its own first as well. Furthermore, I would have more time to eat the catfish so I wasn't worried about the biscuit getting soggy. Christy came to check up on me every now and then. The place was buzzing with people and decorations so I didn't feel so alone. When it was time to pay, Christy brought me the check for me to pay at the cash register. Both Christy and the cashier were so friendly! The restaurant does have a women's and a mens restroom if needed.
