This is a gorgeous bookstore! I had only been here once before, I can't believe that. I'll have to make this a regular in my routine. There are so many book options and I also found different covers here than I would at other bookstores which I was really impressed about. Usually for alternate covers, I have to order from European bookstores! I love how whimsical it is inside. The staff was nice, too. I definitely will be coming back.

Great bookstore with lots of books! You can find anything you want in here. Unique layout too. Parking lot is tricky when busy though

I was invited here for the conversation and book sighing for Nedra Glover Tawwab's book Drama Free. This was an enlightening experience, as Nedra is a licensed therapist. As an advocate of therapy and overall mental health the gems she shared were amazing. The most profound thing she said that resonated is, "we are in a Generation of being emotionally aware" this is so true and reflects the space I'm currently in. I enjoyed the topics of boundaries and changing the way we deal with inconsiderate people. I'm glad I attended this event. Overall, Quail book store is a lovely store with a huge selection of books. The seating for this event was extremely crowded. I think every type of book reader showed up. There was a diverse group of people who attended. I loved seeing this! My only suggestions is for future events like this when you ask for personal signing instructions (our names) at ticket purchase why not already have this information on the ticket we receive when we enter? That's my only suggestion. Across-the-board, great event.

Yes, yes, yes. This bookstore is a must. Full stop. Lovely inside and out it's just so nice. We went in with family and my little one and she adored it. They have a very solid kid's section. It's well laid out and just very aesthetically pleasing. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would be in here weekly if we lived closer to it!! Wish there were still bookstores like this on every block. Overall: A+ Go in. You will not regret it.

I managed to squeeze a few minutes of "free time" in while my son was attending an event near this bookstore. I asked another mom if she knew about any bookstores in the area and she recommended this one. I am an avid reader who is capable of spending literally hours browsing titles and not even realizing how much time has passed. I also value independent bookstores, so I was ecstatic to discover this one! I was like a kid in a candy store. This visit absolutely made my week! LOL. Quail Ridge has a wide variety of wonderful books. I was so intrigued by the Blind Date Book section where books are wrapped completely in brown paper with no indication of their title or author other than a quick description of the content. I wasn't brave enough to go with one of the "blind date books;" however, I ended up selecting two books about creative writing. You could tell the store's books have been carefully handpicked to offer the most variety and quality. There are also nice gifts available for purchase. For stationery lovers, there is a section containing beautiful cards and more. There are unique gifts for book lovers throughout the store too (if someone needs a gift idea for me, I adore the gold-toned, dangling book earrings near the register and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg tote bag near the poetry section. LOL) The store has whimsical touches of unique decor throughout which add to the already pleasurable shopping experience. To my surprise, even the ladies' restroom was thoughtfully decorated with walls full of autographed photographs of authors whom I assumed have at some point visited the store. There are nice little nooks decorated with eye-catching art where a book lover can sit and preview their selections. And I truly appreciated the "All Are Welcome Here" sign in various languages posted near one of the sitting areas. To add icing on the cake, the employees were very welcoming. Some wore masks but I could tell, even with their masks on, that they were smiling. I have now found a new favorite bookstore and will definitely be a frequent visitor! Hopefully I can catch one of the upcoming author events.

This was a great find during our trip to Raleigh! Quail Ridge is an independent- women owned book store with a great collection. It's bigger than I thought it would be Peggy at the desk was a pleasure to talk to

10/10 bookstore! Very much like if Barnes and Nobles was a queer friendly indie bookstore. They have an amazing children's sections as well!

They had a wide variety of books and it reminded me of Barnes & Noble. The books were pricey, but the store was adorable.

Without looking it up (he stayed on his phone throughout this) he just smiled like it was really funny to smugly say "we usually have it but we just ran out." And that was that. He didn't offer a solution just smiled and soaked in the self-pleasure of his snide answer. There was a painful pause as he waited for my reaction, wanting to relish in it, presumably, but I just said "ok then..?" And shrugged. And clearly disappointed I didn't leave right there he sighed and said "we could order one. Want to do that?" But he didn't offer any info about how much it would be, when it would be in, nothing. I had to pry that info from him. So forget it.

Sharing a space with an architectural firm, what you see when you first walk in, is what you get. There's not aisles and aisles of books, but that's what makes it easy to spend some time looking. The children and young adult section is a decent size, surprisingly, so it will give the kids something to do while you spend time looking. Mostly current authors, and a fair mix of biographical, non-fiction and informational, So & So does its job -- offering something different when time and boredom with the common stuff can make book shopping a chore. None of that is an issue here.

Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during a weekday lunch hour. This location is a very small B&N, but there is a nice selection of books nonetheless. Inside is like any other Barnes & Noble location; it's bright, clean, easy to navigate, and there are areas to sit and read. There were lots of sections that had books on sale for 1/2 off as well as non-book items for a discount. However, this store is probably the smallest I've been to which results in less options. What dropped my rating to 3 stars is my biggest pet peeve I've never seen in any new book store until my most recent visit...authors were not in alphabetical order! I was looking for Dean Koontz in particular, an author that is often compared to Stephen King. There were lots of Stephen King soft and hardcovers, however, I couldn't find a single Dean Koontz novel. Not only that, but the horror section had Stephen King both on top and bottom shelves as well as other authors that were mixed in but weren't letters "j" or "l", causing some chaos with finding authors. My husband didn't notice until I pointed it out and he too, thought that was strange. I did buy a pack of fun pens for $5.25 while I was there which was half off, not a bad deal for a novelty item! The cashier was friendly, it was a short interaction for a pack of pens so not much else was needed beyond that. I don't think my OCD will allow my mind to want to come back, though. I can't get past the books not being in alphabetical order by author's names, which is crazy for a Barnes & Noble.
