Page 158 Books opened in 2015 on White Street. Then they expanded to their current location and have The Listening Room. They share space with The Lemon Tree in part of the second room to the store. The store is in the Renaissance Plaza Center near the Renaissance Centre and bowling alley. Since there is a sidewalk, you can walk from one place to the other easily. There is generally plenty of free parking in the parking lot unless an event is happening. When you enter, there is a ramp inside the store to take you smoothly down into the main book displays. The children's section is in the front section. Other genres are clearly labeled throughout the store. Don't miss the second half of the store in the other room. The bookstore is locally owned and has a large, knowledgeable staff, so you will always find someone friendly and willing to help you navigate the shelves. Personally, I love that the store features banned books, as I always want to read what they don't want me to read! I like the staff picks too and reading their thoughts on a book. I appreciate that local authors are highlighted here. On my last visit, I was thrilled to score a signed copy of a local author's book that is only sold at Page 158 Books. I also got another book not normally in my genre for a more fun read. Page 158 Books has book clubs, author signings, and other events. Back when they were on White Street, they had coloring nights and brought the community together and introduced me to the store. It is a great local bookstore! read more

What a great book store!!! I love the post it notes on the books describing what they're about. The staff were super friendly and so helpful! They were great with giving recommendations to two teenagers who were t sure what they're wanted. They didn't rush them and answered all their questions. They were also honest when I asked about a book they didn't have in stock. She said they could order it but she couldn't guarantee that it would be in when I needed it but. I didn't end up ordering the book bc it's being given as a gift. But our group (me, 2 teens and a preteen) left with 5 books, a pin and a patch. I also got a reward off my next purchase! Definitely will be back read more

We stopped in after getting lunch at lemon tree. I love how they had signed copies of books available. The ladies in the shop were very friendly and talked to my kids and were trying to buy a ton of books. They helped me convince them to only get one. Three books cost me almost $50 so definitely pricey but who doesn't love a brand new book? read more

Having a local bookstore in town is such a wonderful part of living in Wake Forest! The staff is so friendly and helpful. If you want a book and it's not in stock, it can be ordered easily. They have a rewards program that quite nice. Everything about this place is just so lovely. Buy your books here! read more

They had a book in stock my wife was looking for. No other big box book stores had it

This is one of my favorite places to visit in Wake Forest. We used to live right around the corner and I could walk to the store but now I drop by any time I'm in town. I've read several of the staff recommendations and they never disappoint. Every interaction I've had with the people working there has been great! The selection is pretty nice for the size shop they have and I am always able to find something new to add to my shelves. I always want to support local businesses and they honestly make it so easy to recommend anyone stop by. They have something for everyone! read more

I recently moved to this area and was so happy to have found this hidden gem! I have been to many bookstores but none have been as delightful as this one! The staff were incredibly kind, and were there to offer assistance if needed. They had a "Romantasy" section which I thought was genius! Definitely will be returning time and time again. Love love love! read more

Well stocked independent bookseller located with a quaint restaurant. The staff has read many of the books and they have short reviews on their favorite books. Prices were reasonable and the selection was more than I expected for such a small town store. Btw, the food looked appealing but I had already eaten. I hope to go back and enjoy the food while scanning the books. read more

cozy little store with a great collection of books. i found the horror section to be a little small but still found some great items there. the pricing is reasonable and the staff were very welcoming and seemed to have a real passion for the place. they host a lot of events, I've never been to one but it seems like a great spot for the community read more

We absolutely LOVE this bookstore. We have been going to them for such a long time, back when they were in a small space next to what is now the Wake Forest Coffee Company's space. Sue and Dave are welcoming bookshop owner. Always willing to strike up a conversation or give a book recommendation. They have such a wonderful, helpful staff. Great book clubs and a rotation of great choices. Truly an invaluable place to have in our little, comfy downtown Wake Forest. read more

Super friendly staff, books are organized, and there's a lot of space so you don't feel too jammed! Value is unbeatable

Was visiting from out of town. Wanted to find a book shop I could sit at and read. After a while of sitting and reading in what looked to me as a comfortable reading nook, the owner came and told me they were closing (which was about an hour and a half earlier than advertised for the day) and I was told people were not able to hang out there. I have never been asked to not "hang out" at a bookstore. While the shop seemed nice and is in a great location, I didn't appreciate the interaction. read more

I visited this book shop thinking it was a used book store but it ended up being new books. I thought the interior was too cute not to look around. There isn't a huge selection of books but it's definitely a place that I could see being the local "book club" shop. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I love the trinkets and almost bought some socks but they were too pricy. I looked the socks up online (okay, I know...shop local) and they were the same price. This book shop may seem overpriced but they're quite honest! read more

I ADORE Page 158. Undoubtedly one of the best independently owned book stores I've ever been to. The owner and staff are SO friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and community-oriented. They have a truly amazing kids section in the front (they do story time!) and a well-thought-out selection for grown ups. They also have a section of gently used books where you "donate what you want" and they, in turn, give that money to local nonprofits. THEY ALSO SEEVE BEER, WINE, AND COFFEE! Sure all the books on the NYT Bestseller list are gems, but the team here has reconnections for top notch authors and reads that fly under the radar. Page 158 exemplifies why keeping it local is almost always the best way to go. read more

Page 158 sets a high standard for independently run bookstores across Wake Forest; with a personalized atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and an amazing selection of books, Page 158 is a beautiful stop for any book lovers in the Downtown area. Additionally, Page 158 offers an awesome monthly book subscription plan, sending perfectly selected books to you along with a variety of other little knick-knacks. Overall, Page 158 is an amazing, local book store in a conveniently located plaza with various other local food and entertainment businesses. read more

Fun little book store relocated to strip mall with Over the Falls and the Wake Forest bowling alley. Love the squeaky floors and eclectic book selections. My daughter received a monthly book subscription her birthday and it was awesome in every way! The book were great choices and came in a box with other small gifts. They all seemed well thought out and coordinated! We would recommend to any book lovers read more

I was SO delighted to find that this book store is so close to home. I had noticed it one evening while we stopped by Over the Falls for dinner (they are in the same plaza). After dinner, we decided to stop in and I was so happy that we did. It's a lot larger than it appears from the outside. The staff is friendly and greets you when you walk in. There are books everywhere (my heaven) and they have them organized very well so that you can find what you're looking for. Also, the smell of new books consumes the store. Another thing I appreciated about the store is that they have sticky notes on some of the book covers with blurbs about the content or whether or not that book is recommended by an employee. It's great that they take the time to do this as it makes it easier for me to identify if that book is going to be something I'm interested in. Aside from their personal touches with the sticky notes, the store is very creative and spunky. Their banned books section is covered in caution tape with notes on why the books were banned. There is also information about book clubs that meet and discuss various genres, along with other events going on at the store or local venues. I thought this was neat as I often find it difficult to locate events happening in our area. I know that I will be visiting again and am excited to have found a local book store to support! read more

One of the best little books stores ever! Small town feel, personal service, great staff. We've been in a few times and are always welcomed with a smile. The books are current and displayed in a pleasing attractive way. They are knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and can special order just about anything. What a family-run, independent book store should be! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful! This store has loads of charm and lots of things other than books, such as gifts, local merchandise, cards, beer/wine, etc. They consistently have events and run a large number of book clubs. I always leave with what I went in for, along with having had the pleasure of a fun and positive experience with the people working there. *If you order a book through them, it usually gets there in a couple of days, and you don't pay for shipping, so the same as Amazon, but rather giving more money to a billionaire you are supporting a local business - and getting the book you want.* read more

Incredibly friendly staff with great customer service skills! I called regarding a new book my daughter has her eye on and they gave me the release date and offered to preorder one for us. After decades going to B&N and getting no service it's great coming in and having outstanding service! It has a great selection of books, especially for our 3 kids (who love picking out a free bookmark every time). Great job! read more

Can you say quaint and cozy and everything you look for in a local bookstore? Attended a stimulating book club meeting and am looking forward to more. This book store is in a great location- right next to the WF awesome coffee shop. The owners are a married couple who LOVE books and Love to read. And they have a great sense of humor. I enjoyed the wall with workers picks- just simple post it notes stuck to the book with a quick blurb about why the book should be read. Lovely young adult book section too. Almost bought the "Lit Happens" t-shirt. Many book clubs to join. I hated to hear that they will be moving to another location but glad they will still be in the downtown WF area. read more
