If you have out-of-town visitors, would recommend bringing them here for souvenirs. The shop has 2 floors housing different genres; the top floor also has some seating. I think I saw they have some drinks for sale as well. It also seems like they have pretty regular events on a weekly basis (book clubs and the like), so I'm excited to go back for one of those in the future. Fast service, great ambiance. Free parking on weekends and weekdays after 7pm in nearby city of Durham garages. 10/10 would recommend!

I saw Olivia Muenter speak about her new book Little One, and the seating and organization of the whole event was handled flawlessly. I thought it was very kind of the event to offer free tickets in addition to tickets that came with a copy of the book, as I had preordered from another store. I appreciated the consideration, and it made me want to stock up on other books from them. I didn't have any issues with parking at all- I got a spot in the large lot right out front. I was also able to choose from a variety of options for quick dinner stops before my event. All in all, a great addition to North Hills!

None were in stock, but the kind staff ordered them for me (3x of one ... they were like are you sure? yeah!) and everything arrived in less than a week! Recently, they had a Sip and Trade for Valentines Day and a March Madness playoff for books! You can usually find parking on Salem, but there's also parking across from the police station. Do not fall for the "free magazine subscription" SCAM. I made a purchase and the cashier offered "3…read morefree months of your choice of magazine subscriptions" I proceeded to ask, are there any secret fees/charges? The sales associate ASSURED me NO, there is no charge or fee. After the trial is over they will mail you a card asking if you'd like to continue the subscription and only at that time would you have to make payment if you chose to continue to receive the magazines. I never received said card and never thought I agreed to be charged for a subscription I didn't really want!! I am now having to go through the trouble of canceling subscriptions AFTER they have already charged my bank which B-A-M gave them the information too. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED I was mislead and lied to.

The staff did seem to keep to themselves, if you are looking for a spot you will not be bothered and left to roam on your own this is the spot . Pauper's is an amazing local, independent bookstore that sells used and new books. They have their…read moredeeply discounted books outside, but if you come on inside you'll see a cozy space with an insane variety of books! You can easily get lost in there browsing everything. They also have comic books, records, and DVDs. The books are generally priced from $1 - $20, with used books averaging $2.99 and new books averaging $15. We have had some great finds at Pauper's and always look forward to taking a trip there!
