I had a reading with Magda at Holy Rose and left feeling extremely uncomfortable. The session quickly turned negative, and I was told I had a curse that needed to be removed. I was then pressured to pay $200 for a "curse removal." As a single mom barely making it, this felt insensitive and exploitative. Instead of feeling supported or spiritually guided, I felt targeted and pressured to spend money out of fear. I believe spiritual services should empower people, not scare them into paying for expensive add-ons. This experience did not feel ethical or supportive, and I would not recommend to anyone. The coolest crystal shop I've ever been to! I heard about it back in 2020 and was disappointed to find out you had to be 18 to enter, so the first thing I did when I turned 18 was drive up and go! Because of COVID only a few people were allowed to be in the store at a time, so there was a bit of a wait, but it wasn't a big inconvenience. The workers were SO sweet and they had the coolest stuff ever. I think the only issue I had was actually finding the place but besides that it was amazing! Will definitely be returning. read more

My sister and I came in just to look because the inside looks so cool. They're super strict on COVID rules just because of how tiny a shop it is. A lady sprayed our hands with alcohol and told us if we touched any crystals we need to let them know so they can sanitize it. (Which is amazing because crystals are touched so much and it's gross) I bought some chime candles and two books. Everyone was super cool and nice! As I walked through the door, I was greeted with a friendly welcome and a smile. They were happy I came in and feel free to ask any questions. I was looking for a a special shape in Lapis. I did walk around and take in all the different items on display. This is a very complete store. They do have most everything you would be looking for. If you don't see it , just ask. If I could give zero stars to this store I would. I drove an hour to specifically go to this store. Once I actually found the location of the store, I was stopped within minutes of entering. I was finishing up a long distance phone call and I was told I couldn't talk on my phone. I had never heard of such a thing before. There wasn't a sign outside of the store saying no phone use while in the store. Instead of hanging up on the call I decided to finish my call outside. First of all, before you enter the shop, be mindful of the rules. If you leave a bad review after the owners tell you to leave because you are in violation of said rules, I diagnose you as whiny baby. There is a reason why this certain store has them, since it's an occult shop that performs readings, has (very!) delicate objects, and has an in-house black cat that roams around the store. No children under 18: wouldn't want to pay hundreds of dollars when your child knocks over a very expensive amethyst cathedral? Your toddler has a loud temper tantrum and starts being disruptive? The kid runs amok and cries because they were bothering the black cat and scratches them? Well, the owners don't want to deal with any of that either and it has happened too much to the point that the owners don't want to have to deal with that. Just don't bring them. No phones: The store is meant to be a quiet and peaceful location from the hustle and bustle of Raleigh, almost like a quiet library. Nobody wants to hear your phone or your conversations. Just take them outside, simple as that. No pictures: invasion of privacy as you could be taking pictures of people in the background. In reality, this rule is to protect YOU. Following said rules will actually give you a nice experience with the store itself and maybe a pet or two with the store cat (if he lets you). I've never encountered a staff so rude in my entire life. I spent 20 minutes waiting for parking in their tiny cobble stone street, where I struggled to parallel park bc of no space. Then got turned away at the door. Claiming that I might break something, and that "some customers don't have money." I'm from Winston, out of town visiting, drove 30 minutes across Raleigh, never been here, dressed well, and also have money? I'm truly disgusted with this establishment. He said, "I'm sooo sorry" to me. With the most stinging bite I couldn't believe what I heard. Especially considering I had walked in the door only moments before. Don't buy anything from here as I'm sure it's been charged with awful energy and hateful vibes. Fantastic selection, but the staff was so rude that we left our purchases on the counter. Our family came from Virginia to visit this shop. I was looking forward to it. My daughter and I entered while my husband and 16-year-old son parked the car. When my husband and son entered behind me and my daughter, my son was told no one under 18 was allowed. Fine. My husband took our son to sit on the bench in front of the store. As we came up to pay, the young man at the counter began to get very irate. Why? Because my son and husband were sitting on the bench in front of the shop. My daughter pointed out that they were just waiting, at the which point the young man announced her "threatening". One associate was nice enough, but I was berated by another worker who lied to my face saying that he saw me "touch a stone" and that I would need to re-sanitize my hands (for COVID19 protocol). I've frequented Holy Rose multiple times for stones and any of my other spiritual needs but today I went in with some co-workers and the guy automatically profiled us and after laughing at nothing that pertained to the store we were told to get out and threaten to call the police on us. I'm sorry to this individual who maybe didn't like our energy and to profile us people who were there to disrespect the store but I will not be going to holy Rose and will change my spiritual store needs to dancing moon. Definitely the place to go for all your spiritual needs! The store is honestly a blessing! They have everything that you need and want, they have a very wide variety of gemstones and herbs as well as oils and inks! The owner wasn't in when I went, but the cashier that was on shift was wonderful, she was a huge help!! The rules are posted for several reasons. It's pretty clear to me that children shouldn't be allowed into the store because they clearly won't listen to all of the signs(there are plenty and not everything can be touched/opened) so all the people who wrote one star reviews for that reason alone need to get it together. First of all, I drive from Greensboro NC to this metaphysical store because it's one of the best I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. Crystals are reasonably priced for high quality stones and you can be sure the crystals are actually real & what they say they are unlike other metaphysical stores in the area. The quality of supplies is also top tier, from incense to herbs. Other reviews saying the shop has bad vibes are 100% incorrect. All employees are kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I also personally think the no cell phone rule is a really wonderful idea, considering the purpose of the space! Someone using the altar or someone with anxiety isn't going to want to hear your personal phone calls. All over wonderful store, I love coming here! read more

Since my children are spending some time with their grandparents my husband and I were lucky enough to be able to visit The Holy Rose. Yes, folks, only children of a certain age are allowed in this establishment and that is a brilliant move on the owner's part. Even the most well behaved children can be loud, hyper, and grabby. None of those things would be appropriate in the calm atmosphere that has been created here. And I say that as a mother! I consider my children very well behaved but know how easy it is for a child to get excited and loud. That's what they do! So I would urge you to find a kid-free moment and visit because I promise it's worth it! The shop is lovely and positively bursting with magic and vibrating with great energy. I visited several weeks ago. They've got a wide array of metaphysical products and herbs that might be hard to find elsewhere. Their handmade candles are beautiful. I bought a few 7 day candles and they are so pretty with glitter. There are rules and signage everywhere, ie Please do not touch. Also what I found odd was that they are trying to create a peaceful atmosphere with no kids or cell phones yet when I was there the clerk was playing a guitar rather loudly. It kind of ruined the ambiance. Overall I really liked the shop and I thought it was lovely and very well done decor wise. If you're a cat person like I am, the resident kitty is very friendly and lovable. I will definitely be visiting again the next time I am in Raleigh. read more

I got a "compliment" via the owners (I think?) on my previous negative review regarding being barred from entry because of my infant (non-crazy, completely contained in baby carrier). The message went something like this: "We're sorry you are personalizing the rules of the store. You're welcome to come back." MEGA passive aggressive response. Just NO. Also, no rationale at all about the rule. I really want to know. Will the voodoo hurt my fledgeling? Is there fear that my infant will summon poop demons? This is the most peaceful and beautiful shop I've ever been in. The combination of great decor (creative interior design, a beautiful shrine), a subtle but nice rose-y smell, and the friendliness of the owners just makes you instantly feel happy when you walk in the door. I'll take any excuse I can get to go there, because it's just such a pleasant place to be. The Holy Rose also has an extremely well-curated selection of items for people from a variety of spiritual paths. They've got everything from saint candles, to regular candles, to pagan items, to herbs, to books on all sorts of spiritual topics. But even if you're not into any of that, it's still worth a visit for their great selection of original artwork; the painting I bought there is probably my favorite piece of art in my entire house. I have visited this shop regularly over the past few months, and I've been quite impressed. From the customer service to the crystals and other spiritual items they sell, it's awesome! From the first time I entered the shop, I have felt comfortable asking questions and getting their advice on what would work best for me. The staff has always been friendly and respectful to me and to others when I've been in the shop. On occasion, I have heard them politely tell customers to step outside for a phone conversation, to keep the noise down, to not bring small children or pets into the shop. My goodness people, the rules are right there on the front door! I'm not sure I could keep my cool when people continue to break rules that are prominently and clearly posted, but I have never heard the staff be rude to anyone! First time costumer and I am hooked. This is truly a one stop shop... from Wicca, Herbal, Witchcraft to Spiritual and Buddhist supplies and all your ceremonial needs. Stones galore and even a decent size collection of books with a quiet little section for reading and even meditating. To top it off the Owners (only assuming from my impression, not sure) were extremely helpful and informative. They even threw in a little something extra during my purchase. We went to City market event this afternoon, we found The Holy Rose Shop very unique store and interesting. They have really cool witch craft figurines, magnetic balls / stones, decorative ornaments, herbs/spices. I'm not familiar or educated to what they're selling but surely it's very interesting. You have to go there and see it yourself. The lady owner was helpful and knowledgeable explaining what stones it represents, it gives all kinds of energy depending what you're getting. I bought a cool bracelet with skulls in it and I love it. They have all kinds of witch stuffs, and they have wands too, it just think this store store is worth a visit!!!
