    Schnitzel with sauerkraut

Our first time at J Betski's was wonderful! We sat outside and had very quick service - as soon as we ordered something via the QR code it wasn't long before it arrived at our table. The flank steak and Schnitzel were delicious. My husband enjoyed the German beer selection. Will definitely be back soon!

My son and I had the chance to try this restaurant recently. The layout is open, featuring a bar near the dining area, which can get a bit loud. We tried the pierogies with sweet potato filling, which were prepared well and had good flavor. My son had the pork with cranberry broccoli, and the pork was very tasty, with a nice portion. I had the crispy ginger Asian chicken with a potato stick and coleslaw. The chicken was moist and tender, with a good crunch, and the coleslaw was tangy with a touch of sweetness; the potato stick was my favorite part, and I could have used more. The service was good, but note that you'll need to use your phone to order with a QR code. When that didn't work for us, a waiter took our order. This was my first time here, and I'll have to come back for a second try in the future.

It has been way too long since we have visited J Betski's. It moved to a new location. Very cozy and laid back with an outside dining option. The food is just as we remembered - outstanding and delicious. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was great and recommended several items when we were stuck deciding. I had the ginger fried chicken with ginger slaw and potato crisp. It was so good. My wife had the sausage plate with sweet and sour red cabbage. We paired our meal with the pisgah brown ale, a perfect accompaniment. We finished with the chocolate hazelnut torte. Glad we shared it (dinner was filling). It was a great dinner. We will be back very soon.

My cousin made reservations here last night and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. It was a cute atmosphere, not too flashy. The QR code menu with poor cell service was kind of annoying, but we fumbled thru! Sadly I don't recall our main servers name, but I must commend the exceptionally efficient, quick service from the team of folks that delivered drinks and all of our food items to the table. I would also like to suggest making a change to the signage for your restrooms. As I waited to use the ladies room, staff encouraged me to use the men's room as each restroom was single use, so why not take down the traditional gender signs? Changing gears, on to the most important part of the review in my opinion; the food!!!' I had the opportunity to sample a number of appetizers! The pumpkin pirogies were out of this world amazing!! The croquettes and the pretzel pieces were pretty darn good too! I ordered the burger with a pirogi on it and wow, it was one of the best burgers that I've had in a long time!! The potato "wedges" that were served with the burger were really good too! I appreciate the insight provided by the one employee when we asked how they made those potato wedges things. I was also very impressed with the quality of food for the price. The meal was a zing and of course we had to sample some dessert too! The apple walnut strudel was delicious as well! Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience! I am looking forward to making a future visit and plan to sign y'all's praises to my friend that moved her from Germany a few years ago! Thank you!

Spiced gingerbread cake with a maple caramel, bitter chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Texturally great but wayyy too much spice.

Overall good with a few quirks. They operate solely off a QR menu with toast app ordering. You can order what you need when you want it, which because it was around 5PM on Saturday was very efficient, but the app allows for no customizations, substitutions or special instruction. IE sauce on the side, no caramelized onions, etc. The wait staff was pretty attentive and friendly enough but it was odd not having an actual server. We had the pretzel for an appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. The sauce it came with tasted really good but was a bit thin. The Jagerschnitzel was perfectly cooked and came out quickly but was warm, not hot. The sauce and accompaniments were all good. We decided upon the gingerbread cake for dessert. Plating looked good, and the sauces were a nice addition. The texture was slightly sticky and good but it had way too much spice. I like a strong spice flavor but this was extreme, like slightly burning sensation on your tongue extreme. No exaggeration. It's hard to get German food in this area and while I'd like a little more variety of German items, we'd come back again.

The best pierogis I have ever had!! The food is always delicious, fast service, friendly staff. We've been here twice now and each time we wanted more pierogis and said we need to be back soon!

Ventured out in snowy Raleigh to the comforting German restaurant, J Betski's. Everyone that works here is incredibly nice and welcoming. Food was ordered with a bar code on your phone, and the service was incredibly fast. We started with the mushroom pierogies, which were incredible! The dough was chewy and crisp on the outside, and the filling was rich, cheesy, and umami. We also shared the cabbage and cauliflower salad which had delicious pickled cauliflower and onions, and the toasted pine nuts on top added a nice nutty flavor and crunch. My husband had the venison goulash meatballs - the goulash was very flavorful with warming spices and a hint of spiciness, and the meatball was very tender. I had the chicken stew, which was very rich, buttery, and herbaceous. The only issue we had with our entrees is that they weren't hot, which would have elevated the great flavor they had. We ended our meal with their soft pretzel and braised cabbage wedge. We missed the big salt crystals on the soft pretzel, but the side of mustard it came with was superb. The cabbage wedge was deliciously braised in beef stock and balsamic - very flavorful and tender. Overall this was a hearty, warm meal, perfect for a snowy night. The service was delightful and fast. The only issue was the entrees being room temperature, but all the food was very flavorful and well-priced. We will be back! 7/10 s *Mushroom & Three Cheese Pierogis: Polish dumplings filled w/ mushrooms, gruyere, parmesan, & mozzarella *Cabbage and Cauliflower Salad: coriander-turmeric-rice wine vinegar marinated cauliflower & cabbage w/ red bell pepper, toasted pine nuts, saba *Venison Goulash Meatballs: venison ' pork meatballs in goulash sauce over spaetzle *Chicken Stew: braised chicken in cognac gravy, root vegetables, mushrooms, spaetzle *Cabbage Wedge: balsamic glazed & charred *Hot Beer Pretzel: housemade sourdough & pilsner soft pretzel w/ spicy sweet mustard

Our server was really nice, he explained how the Qr code works and the menu and how to make payments too! He didn't assume we would know how it works, and we really appreciated how nice he was. Too bad I didn't get his name. The indoors had no space when we got there so we got a table outside but then when a party left, we asked our server and he was very accommodating and seated us inside as it was a little too warm for us outside. My mum is a vegetarian and she also really enjoyed the veg options I ordered for her! We ordered 3cheese mushroom and the potato cheese pierogi, hot beer pretzel, kale and quinoa, cheese spaetzle, baked oysters and the jägerschnitzel we were pleasantly surprised by how good everything tasted. The caramelised onions and breadcrumbs are a good addition on the pierogi and spaetzle. Got a less sweet mocktail, was very basic but not the best. Loved the Togo options too, picked up a few samples, and will definitely be back for the food (dine in and/ or to go :))

I'm a fan of J Betski's! I think it's a great spot for a casual but delicious dinner. I like that you order through the QR core, but you still get assigned a server. Each time I've been everyone has been very friendly and helpful. The pierogi's are tasty, definitely a must order here. I recently gave the pierogi burger a try and it did not disappoint . You can tell they hand make their tasty burger patties. The spaetzle is also always tasty as well. They have a solid drink menu and best options to chose your flavor profiles for mocktails. Looking forward to heading back in.

The last time that I dined at J Betski's was when it was located in Seaboard Station so I was excited to check it out again. We started off with the potato and cheese pierogis and the cabbage-kruat-mushroom pierogis. For drinks it was a glass of sparkling rose followed by the buttered bourbon old fashioned for me and a cocktail for my husband. For our entrees it was the seared diver scallops for me and the schnitzel for him. We could not pass on dessert so we ordered the orange almond bread pudding. All of the food and drinks were so good. If you are craving German/Polish food then this spot is a must visit.

What's old becomes new again and such is the case for the new J Betski's! A long-time favorite for German and Polish eats, J Betski's shut down during the pandemic and moved to a new location off Whitaker Mill Road. Given that there are so few German or Polish dining options in the area, it's great to see it back! Inside, the space is a bit more modern and less dark, while still retaining an Eastern European sensibility. Bar in the back, a bunch of 4-tops and a large covered patio up front. They only opened this past weekend but I hopped in for dinner to see how things were. The place was very busy on an early Tuesday so I'm guessing all their old customers and clients were excited. I ordered up some delicious, pan-fried potato and cheese pierogies along with a crispy and unctuous pork chop which was slow-roasted pork shoulder in a panko-crusted coating, yum! Service was solid as usual and the place is still getting up to speed so be patient! Overall I'm quite happy to see J Betski's back online and look forward to visit #2 and trying their classic caramel-bacon, chocolate torte!

I still love the fruit tart - good texture and mix of sweet and slightly tart. The macaron and elephant ear was pretty good. The macaron had good flavor and texture. Elephant ears tasted good, though I would've preferred more layers and more of a crisp. Lemon poppy danish was the standard danish. I sadly wasn't as impressed by the cream puff and eclair dough. I know they make their pastries fresh every day but on a busy Saturday at 10:30 am, the eclair dough didn't taste fresh and was not as light and airy as I hoped. Cream puff was ok. The dough was also meh. BUT the focaccia was amazing!! It was on-sale day old bread but had great flavor and was soft on the inside and slightly crispy in the outside. All in all, for what's in the area and restaurant's atmosphere, it's still worth the trip.

These were the only items in their selection that had a price, $4, so I got two togo. The lemon bars and blueberry bars looked delicious, so I got two each for after dinner. We got 50 little neck clams, and needed some bread. Their sourdough looked good, so I got a loaf. The sourdough that we bought was literally the most dense bread I have ever eaten. Even soaking it in clam broth did not help. Tried an un-soaked piece, and it was like eating tough jerky. The dogs didn't even want it. After dinner I cut one each of the pastries in quarters to share. The lemon had a very slight taste of lemon (very very slight), and although the blueberry appears to be packed with fruit, it only tasted like soggy dough. (See pic). My last shot was the macaroon. I gave one to my daughter to split with me. She barely split it. The filling was like the mixed it with marshmallows. It stretched while the cookie crushed, and also did not taste good at all. I would like to think they got a new pastry chef that is learning, but sorry, at 42 bucks for that amount of food that was all bad, I'm not going to be another guinea pig. Oh, no one wanted the other lemon or blueberry bar, so sadly I threw them out.
