The environment was great, good crowd, friendly atmosphere it's difficult to get a drink due to a crowing hanging around the bar. But don't be shy push into the crowd and order the drink. 10/10 love the place the DJ I think DJ Ephins was awesome!!

Parking in downtown Aurora is always a hassle, but we came in for First Friday and decided to give this spot a try. It took a while to get seated since many tables weren't cleared or cleaned yet. I ordered the chicken pot pie, which came in a bread bowl--a nice twist I actually enjoyed! However, the potatoes tasted grainy and unwashed, and I noticed the filling portion was smaller than it used to be before they started serving it in the bread bowl. Still, the meal was hearty and filling. My 3-year-old had the butter noodles and loved them, and her French fry portion was impressively large! My friend ordered a burger medium, but it came out overcooked with no pink in the middle and hard edges. Overall, it was a mixed experience. Overall they have become less of a restaurant and more of a wedding venue, so coming in is less welcoming than it used to be.

We went on a Friday night and sat in the bar are so we could hear the band. The noise level was good, we could actually have conversations and still enjoy the band. The tables are spread out somewhat, so that helped, too. They had some good beers on tap. I usually get Guinness at an Irish pub, but they also had Zombie Dust on tap, so I had to get that. My husband had the fish and chips, which he really liked and I had the Rueben. It was delicious, without being overly greasy, like I've had at some places. We finished with the bag of donuts and the bread pudding to share for the table. There were about 8 of us and that was plenty. Looking forward to our next visit.

When I lived closer to the area, I came here semi often with friends or family. It's located in downtown Aurora, close to the Paramount theater. Parking is very easy, there is a huge parking lot that you can go to after hours. Make sure you read the signs. It was behind a bank, I would walk across the street, turn left and you're there. They had live music, good food, and the restaurant was spacious. I had the corn beef bites that are worth trying once. Burgers were decent. Service was always good. On St Patrick's Day, they make decent quality corned beef and cabbage. There's a location in Downers Grove that is easier for me to get to. I'll have to check out that location.

Ballydoyle is the best Irish pub in Aurora. It actually is the only one I can think of, so there's not a lot of competition for sure. You can get hammered on Irish beer and cocktails, or be brave and try some of the food too. Just be warned most of the food is expensive. There's also not a lot good for vegetarians. At first we just came to drink and watch a game. It wasn't busy even though it was a weekend so that was kind of strange. The drink that got our attention was the Whiskey Shake Up. It's $10 for a decent amount. This is made with Jameson, lemonade, and raw sugar. It tasted a lot like a lemonade shake up you get at a festival. The difference is this one gets you fucked up. As for the food the only good thing we saw were the Housemade Irish Chips. It's about $8 for a lot. These are potato chips tossed in Irish Dust Seasoning, which is salt and sugar. Fun place to hang out and watch a game. It has better drinks than food honestly. There's not a whole lot for vegetarians.

Local pub with good Irish food! It is tricky to find parking, but there is free parking along the next street. I've been here a couple times and really enjoyed the Irish chips it's not too thick like a kettle chip and the seasoning is great! I also would recommend the baked potato soup, it's hearty and comforting on a cold winter day.

I tried just one bite ... EWWW!

The wait staff service was outstanding and Adam, the bartender was excellent. Appeitzers were delicious - spinach artichoke dip and meatballs with marinara. I appreciated they allowed a special meal for the MOB who is a vegetarian. The sugar donuts at the end of the meal were a hit! :) Alyssa, the party coordinator for the venue was super accomodating and super easy to work with. It does take a few days for response time - BUT, I always got a response. And she was always willing to give us everything we asked for! The venue even let us in earlier than requested to set up our decor. We would definitely recommend this venue for a bridal/baby shower or birthday party - any special event that is smaller in numbers. The venue has been advertising a new addition to the space next to building but it seems the construction has haulted. It is a shame because it is a bit of an eyesore - BUT, if they complete this addition, it will be beautiful. Hope they are able to complete it. The Gray's Mills has history with it's town so I hope locals will continue to support it. When we come back to visit our son and my new daughter-in-law, we will definitely be back for a visit - especially if the weather is nice!! They have a great outdoor patio along the Fox River just outside the restaurant on the bottom floor. Thank you Gray's Mill Estate!!

The garlic cheese curds were the highlight of the meal, we enjoyed them so much that we ended up ordering a second round. The wings were decent, but the menu described them as smoked, and I honestly couldn't detect any smoky flavor or aroma. My biggest complaint was the service. The waiter took our food and drink orders at the same time, but the drinks arrived much later than expected. In fact, we had already finished our appetizers by the time the beer was served. Since we visited around 2-3 PM and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, the delay was disappointing. Overall, the food was enjoyable, especially the garlic cheese curds. If I return, I'll probably order my drinks first and place my food order afterward to avoid the wait.

So we moved to another table and it also wobbled. I propped a folded napkin to steady the table. Our server was friendly and respectful, but slow. We ordered a Fried Brussel Sprouts for an appetizer. They were nice and crispy, but lacked seasoning -- salt, for example -- none! My wife ordered the strip steak. It was loaded with gristle; she had no choice but to leave partly chewed beef on her plate; gross, but necessary. I ordered the fish tacos. There was so much salad on these tacos, it rendered the fish non-existent; literally, I couldn't taste, or even find the fish. We finished with a slice of Creme Brûlée Cheesecake that was amazing!! Delicious! While Two Brother's beer is generally exceptional, and the atmosphere at the Roundhouse is quite interesting, their food sucks. They need a new chef!!

I've been having some hearing issues lately, and the restaurant was extremely loud. We politely asked our waitress if we could move to the other room so I could hear better. She simply said, "No, it's closed," and then walked away before we could say anything else. We ended up sitting directly underneath the TV, wedged between three very loud tables. We noticed there was an empty area on the other side of the bar, so after waiting until the waitress was finished talking with other customers, my husband politely asked if we could move over there because it was quieter and would make it easier for me to hear. She completely ignored him. He asked again. She looked directly at him and said, "I don't have time for this," and walked away. At that point, we simply got up and left. I own a local business in Yorkville, right down the street from Burnt Barrel, and I would never allow one of my employees to treat a customer this way. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable--we were simply trying to find a quieter place to sit because I was having difficulty hearing. People have bad days, and I understand that. But there is never a reason to dismiss and speak to customers that way, especially when they are being polite. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning. It's a shame because we genuinely liked this place and had always enjoyed coming
