I'm not solid on giving 4 stars(maybe 3.75 stars) ONLY because the front man at this place does lack friendly customer service quality. The only thing this place has for 'good quality' is their food. Front house staff is cold, creepy but knows how to hack ribs and put em in ur container. I would order again but would hope I pick up on a day that dude is not working. We all need jobs and food. If this guys bern pulling it off this long being the way he is more power to him. Just don't let quality of your food decline cuz that's all this place has got! Ordered here for dinner. We tried two other places on 46 in this area so wanted to continue on with the experimenting. Food was just ok. We ordered boneless ribs (good - meaty, not overly fatty or overly sauced), Wonton Soup (fine, hard to mess this up), General Tso's Chicken (heavily battered, not much chicken, sauce was ok) Veggie fried rice (aka, no vegetables save a few broccoli, peas, and carrots) and lo mein (Acceptable. Neither amazing nor offensive). We ordered on a Friday evening. Food was ready when we picked up. It looked clean inside, the staff looked busy cooking which is always encouraging. I'm sure some of their other dishes are fantastic, but our go to dishes were just ok. In the Kevnil/Succasunna area out of Bally Dar, China King, and Yummy Taste - Yummy Taste gets our #1 for best chinese food. Toss up between China King and Bally Dar. read more

Had our dinner delivered. We ordered the usual Veg lo mein, hot and sour soup veg. It was good! The veg lo mein was very tasty. It was a little better than the usual Chinese food. Ordered spicy and less oily, and it was very well done; just right! The delivery was quick! I think it was done within 25-30 minutes. I'm very happy with the food and delivery as well. Have been a customer for 15+ years, the food has slowing been going down hill with quality and portions. Recently we actually used one of the coupons they offer regularly. Well we got three different phone calls accusing us of using the coupon without notifying them. Told them over the phone we were using it but apparently they didn't hear that. Well you would think after being a customer so long that a $3 coupon would not be that big a deal, well it was. We are now gone, never going back and actually have found several better places. Moral to the story...be nice to your long time customers!! read more

I love this place. My husband and I have been searching for a cheap chinese delivery place by us, and it took a year and a half, but we finally found it. Bally Dar is both extremely reasonably priced and healthy (well as healthy as cheap chinese can be). My favorite dish is the kung pao chicken, and my husband's is beef and eggplant with garlic sauce. Normally the beef and eggplant in garlic sauce is just that, beef and eggplant in standard gloppy garlic sauce. Bally Dar adds a twist by adding some nice chinese veg to the dish, which is a welcomed change. My favorite appetizers from them are their wonton soup and their hot and sour soup, both very good, and also their fried dumplings are very good. I have a hard time finding good, reliable wonton soup because many times it tastes to me like just watered down chicken bullion with wontons, but this soup is both clear broth and not too salty. Definitely good soup delivery when stuck sick at home. One dish that I steer clear of is their general tsos chicken. It was extremely tasty but for some reason it nuked my stomach when I ordered it during lunchtime one weekend. That was the only time I had it, and I will never have it again. It didn't taste spoiled, but it did have chopped up hot peppers incorporated in the dish, which is genuine szechuan style, but not my preference. I admit it, I don't love szechuan style food, I am much more of a Cantonese style food fan. Although the delivery times vary widely, stretching to over an hour as you approach closing time, they are courteous and extremely apologetic if they are over an hour. I have never had a mistake on my order and we order dinner late from this restaurant at least once a week. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with their service, and highly recommend them as a great cheap chinese delivery option. read more

Second time, second set of problems, I give up. First time we ordered delivery they sent the wrong soda (Which of course I paid for) and at delivery they said they'd correct the problem. They never did. Second time we ordered we specified flat noodles, and asked if the Diet Coke 2 Liter would be corrected, instead I was charged for a 20oz and got noodles with onions/scallions in them. Not what I ordered and not corrected. It's not the money, it's the fact that they can't even get a simple delivery straight. Will never order from again. read more

As Yelp says...."as good as it gets" for take out! I ordered from this place three times in the last few weeks because I have a family member in a nearby hospital. Not only were they very nice and helpful on the phone, but the food came quickly....and it was great! I was especially fond of the dumplings (I had multiple types, steamed) and we also enjoyed the lo mein and various meat dishes. Sometimes food tastes good but sits on your stomach...not the case here! It was fresh, plentiful, and I think very well priced. read more

Food is good but the service is shitty. Always an attitude when I call in for delivery, they gotta work on that.

We order from here several times a month, and are usually quite pleased with the food. Delivery is quick and courteous. Some items are better than others though, so it's good if you know what to order for maximum enjoyment. For example the won ton soup recently had won tons that weren't cooked quite enough, and didn't go down too easily. On the other hand the chicken with sweet and sour sauce never disappoints and is delicious. Be careful of General chicken, it's hit or miss, with the latest order being tough and chewy dark meat. Chicken with broccoli is superb, and we really enjoy the hot and sour soup. They have some really nice lunch specials for seven fifty which are a cut above the normal fare on offer. Four Seasons is wonderful and a good value on the lunch menu. With so many Chinese places to frequent, we keep going back to Bally Dar almost exclusively. read more

Love Bally dar. They deliver to landing which is fabulous and their Chinese is the best in the area, not to mention extremely affordable. I tried out a bunch of other places nearby that didn't deliver and weren't as good. My normal order is pork fried dumplings, cheese wontons, boneless spare ribs, chicken and broccoli and the occasional veggie lo mein. Have not been disappointed yet. My only gripe is sometimes food takes over an hour, which I contribute to the far drive but is is always piping hot. read more

this is the only place you should order chinese food from in the area. fresh food, fast delivery.. i have tried a lot of the stuff in the chef's speciality section. i always enjoy their food and it seems like it is made with a lot better quality product than typical chinese food spots. highly recommend! BTW if you order a soda and they bring you the wrong soda, deal with it. don't leave the place a 1 star review for a simple mistake. read more

Terrible customer service! Asked for a simple substitution of a can of soda instead of an egg roll and was given a hard time because I asked for this on two meals when they were only willing to do one substitution. Ended up cancelling the entire order and will no longer order from this restaurant. What happened to customer service? Congrats on losing a loyal customer! read more
