This place is very good! The food was delicious, they have a wide range of drinks, and the atmosphere is awesome. There's inside and outside seating, with some of the inside seating facing Downtown Disney. The only reason I didn't rate it 5/5 is due to the service! Although they're all super nice, every time I've gone it has taken a LONG time to get their attention if we needed anything. My last time it took around 10 minutes to get the check. My wife and I were invited to join two other couples for dinner at this restaurant. My first impression was that this place looked like a fun place to dine. You check in on the first floor and either take the elevator or the stairs to the second floor, which is where the dining area and bar are located. The restaurant is very nice and large. Employees were extremely friendly and welcoming, and they even offer a gift shop selling t-shirts, hoodies, caps, etc., bearing the restaurant's name and logo. Once seated, we had a great view of a portion of downtown Disney down below. The seats were very comfortable, and the tables were fully stocked with condiments and other items. The menu offered so many delicious-sounding options. I decided on a Cobb salad plus an order of fries, and a beer, while my wife has a personal-sized cauliflower-based pizza. We stopped by on a Saturday evening and were able to get on the waitlist and sat within 15 minutes or so (they don't take reservations so you check in at the host stand on the first floor and head up to the first floor when it's time to be sat). Ballast Point is adjacent to Black Tap in the Downtown Disney District. I've often confused the two as the entrances are in close proximity and are easily confused for each other. Ballast point is actually located upstairs and has a very nice vibe and in addition to a view of the down town Disney area. Surprisingly good food. You cannot go wrong as there are many options to choose from. Disney Magic Key holders also have the option to view a secret menu. Nice choices and one that I won't spoil here. After a full Disney day, this was the perfect quick stop. We walked up to the bar upstairs, grabbed a self-seat, and just exhaled. We shared the fish and chips and a blood orange seltzer. The seltzer was so good -- crisp, refreshing, exactly what you want after walking 20k steps. The fish and chips were solid and flavorful. My only thing is I wish the portions were a little bigger like most traditional fish and chips spots. Still good nonetheless and hit the spot. Rich, flavorful, and satisfying. -Miso cauliflower: Winner! Served in a little skillet, drenched in creamy, spicy miso sauce. I could have this every single day. -Garlic fries (chips upcharge): Loved the taste, but $6 to swap chips for fries felt pricey, especially given the portion. The biggest drawback: the inflated prices ($140-ish for 2 beers and food) were hard to swallow. But thanks to our attentive, friendly server and great beer lineup, I'd still come back again. After getting some steps in walking around Downtown Disney, we decided to stop by for a quick drink. I went with my usual 8oz kombucha draft, and the seasonal Golden Mango flavor did not disappoint. It was incredibly refreshing. Light, crisp, and perfectly balanced. I really appreciate that it's gluten free with a natural fizz that isn't overpowering or flat. The cold pressed lime gives it that clean, bright finish, and the mango flavor tastes natural, not artificial or overly sweet. Honestly, it was so refreshing I immediately wanted another. Ballast Point in Downtown Disney is such a great spot. The location alone is a win -- you go up the elevator or stairs and walk into this big, open space with tons of seating options. There's a large bar you can sit at, regular tables you can be seated at, plus an outdoor patio bar that's first come, first served, along with more tables outside. We chose to sit at the outside bar, and it was perfect. The weather was nice, it was shaded, and not too hot at all -- exactly what you want on a warm day. The bartender was super nice and friendly and really helpful. They walked us through the different beers, explained them, and even gave us little tastes so we could find the right one. I ended up going with the Top Secret IPA, which was excellent. For food, I had the poke bowl and it was great -- fresh and really flavorful. My mom ordered the hamburger and said it was also great. They have a great variety of Ballast Point signature beers along with other local brews on tap, so beer lovers will probably be happy. The poke is all pre-mixed, so there's really no customization if you don't like certain ingredients (I would've skipped the onions). The lobster roll was the biggest letdown -- especially for the cost. It came across more like a cold lobster-tuna salad drowning in mayo than an actual fresh lobster roll. Honestly, the toasted bread was the best part. Service was friendly and perfectly fine, but nothing especially memorable. I do wish the staff had steered me toward stronger menu items or at least given a heads-up about the lobster roll. During a Downtown Disney District date, we chose to eat at Ballast Point. We were seated at their upstairs bar area, which was nicely decorated for this Halloween. There were lots of pumpkins hanging down over the bar and there was even a large pumpkin skeleton that was hovering over some of the tables. Ordering was via a QR code and we chose to get a few sharable plates and a salad. We got the Chicken Pot Pie Empanadas ($20), Aji Lime Verde Wings ($19) and House Salad ($15). It was actually the Chicken Pot Pie Empanadas on the menu that convinced us to try this place. We definitely had high expectations for this. This plate came with two empanadas filled with chipotle chicken pot pie over a roasted pepper mash and garnished with herb slaw and green chili oil. It was plated beautifully. However tastewise, we were slightly disappointed that the empanadas were a bit over fried. It seemed like they may have left these in the fryer a little too long because the crust a bit hard. I was expecting a nice, crisp exterior. Despite the disappointing hard crust, the filling of the empanada was tasty. I actually didn't even need the herb slaw garnish. (I would even go as far as saying to skip the herb slaw which I found slightly bitter in taste). The Ahi Lime Wings came with eight wings. Similar to the Chicken Pot Pie Wings, these also seemed over fried. Despite being a bit over fried, I still found the wings to be enjoyable. The wings were flavorful with a good spice kick due to its aji lima verde sauce. I also enjoyed the queso fresco and fried maiz. (I do have to note the fried maiz reminded me of corn nuts snacks haha). Surprisingly the best meal for our visit was the House Salad. This salad consisted of spring mix, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers all tossed in a white balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was fresh and tasty! It made for a good pairing with the fried food. Overall I felt like the food here had potential. The flavors were good but it was just a shame that both the empanada and wings were over fried. read more

Everything on the Skullcuterie board was delicious, though the only downside was that it didn't come with nearly enough bread. Visted Downtown Disney and found a Ballast Point here. I have been to San Diego and Long Beach Ballast point but first time here. Was greeted by the front desk and which I requested a party of 4. Waited 10 mins to get seated. Our table was located on the 2nd floor, overseeing downtown Disney foot traffic. It was a nice place to chill and relax. Ordered Empanadas and drinks. Ordered Drinks after Drinks as well some additional appetizers. Our total stay was close to 4 hours. Our waiter was very professional and courteous. He kept checking up on us to make sure we were okay and if we need anything to make our stay comfortable. Overall experience, we all had a good time. Good food and good service. Ambiance was warm. If you are visiting Disneyland or near field, you won't be disappointed. Aside the difference from the other Ballast Point visited, this place does not have a QR code you can order and pay your bill too. BEWARE: This restaurant fraudulently added additional gratuity on my final bill, long after I had already paid in full. We were at Ballast Point to celebrate two birthdays and were aware that there would be an automatic 20% gratuity, as we had a party of 10. The original bill of $296.31 reflected this gratuity--so I clearly indicated on both receipts that I would not be paying any additional gratuity. Lo and behold, once the final charge posted, I saw an additional $50 charge on my card--which amounted to a final posted payment of $346.31. This is frankly unethical at best and illegal at worst. I would strongly recommend anyone who has eaten here to double check their credit card billing statements, and for anyone who is considering a restaurant in Downtown Disney to look elsewhere. The brewery is located on the second floor, which offers a massive space and a fantastic view of Downtown Disney. My review for specifically the outside patio seating. We decided to come here while waiting for a Trader Sam's. But he doesn't trust the most was the seasonal bone marrow Skullcuterie. When this came out, it did look pretty amazing. Everything on it is pretty tasty, but the bone marrow could've used more seasoning. The big one is it doesn't come with anywhere near enough pieces of bread, we ended up asking for about four times more, if you get this, ask for more bread when you order it, maybe triple the amount. It is quite expensive for what it is, but it's plenty of food if you're just looking for a snack. Service here was great for us, but we were sitting at the bar. All the beers we tried were great and we opted for the flight style small pours. Patio is pretty awesome, great view over overlooking downtown Disney.
