Great: People are super nice. Office is bright and clean. Helpful and happy! Neutral: Single, open, procedure room. Does not bother me...but it is...different. Bad: Remote communication. It is just terrible, overwhelming SPAM for ratongs (seems far more important than ortho results). They use a different platform daily for KEY information. Email one day. Text the next. I have text messages from close to a dozen different numbers. Multiple e-mail accounts. Was made fun of for not bringing my phone to latest appt (not asked to...). IMPORTANT info (like changes in appts. Aligners not arrived, etc. Burried in the middle of 20 'rate us' SPAM messages. Really ruins an otherwise good group of folks. read more

10/10!!! Ballard Orthodontics is the place to go. Their staff is all so friendly and professional, and their technology makes getting Invisalign or braces easy breezy. Megan worked with me the through my entire treatment and she was so helpful and kind the entire time. Everyone at BA is very determined on giving you the best smile possible, even if your treatment is "over" they will perfect any minuscule detail to make sure you have a perfect smile. They are always willing to here any questions or concerns you may have and don't make you feel bad for speaking up. And love love love their payment plan! I need to rave about this place. I went in for adult braces, from beginning of my consultation to the time I got my braces off, Ballard Orthodontics made my experience as easy and pleasant as possible. The staff are incredibly sweet and helpful- ESPECIALLY the doctors and assistants. I was blown away at how upbeat, professional, educated and gentle every single staff member was during my visits. I am someone with extremely sensitive teeth and had nothing but the most gentle and smooth adjustments all the way down to my actual removal of brackets. I would 1000000% recommend this place. After being with them for a year and half, this is my honest review: 》It's extremely difficult to get an appointment with them, I try to reschedule my initial visit 5 weeks ahead of time, receptionist can't fit me into the schedule and put me on a waitlist that does not exist. Now I am one month late with my appointment and I still didn't hear back from that "waitlist." 》If you need to be on traditional braces, go for another clinic. My brackets fell off at least 3 times during my treatment. They want to charge me extra fee because "I'm being so difficult that my brackets fell off". 》I've requested my X-ray record 4 times over, spent 50 mins on the phone with the coordinator. Still need to call the office 5 times over to get my X-ray and information. Not sure what's going on but ever since they took my down payment, my experience is going downhill. 》The new receptionist is unprofessional. And, the front staff cannot explain and detail my billing correctly. All I asked was: "what's the remaining balance on the account?" She printed off my account summary and told me to read it myself. 》But don't be a fool, if you are on traditional braces they don't give a damn about your progress. Receptionist mentioned to me many times that "I need to understand they have lots of customers from the local high schools, therefore all afternoon appointments are all booked up til July". read more

I was in Europe for 2 weeks when my lower fixed retainer broke. They were able to get me in right away. Front office is very professional. First time in the office and I was very impressed with the flow and even though they seemed busy, they were on time and spent quality time with me. My retainers feel smoother than ever. Now in my 30's I wondered whether it was worth the time and money to do it again, especially with a busy schedule. Ballard Orthodontics made it so easy! They went above and beyond to accomodate me.They temporarily removed my brackets for my bachelorette and for my wedding. Then they switched me to aligners once I was eligible. What great service! My retainer recently broke and I was looking for an orthodontist nearby that could make a new one. I searched online and Ballard Orthodontics was the closest so I e-mailed them to see if this is something they could do. To my surprise I got a same day e-mail response and availability for me to come in early next morning and have it made while I waited. The office was really nice and it feels like you are in a cool new tech startup environment versus a traditional medical style orthodontic office. I got to meet Dr. Chatur who was very friendly and her office manager, April was the one that took my impression. She was very nice and welcoming. The convenience factor is huge as there is free parking (I drove) as well being right next to major bus lines off of 15th. I even got to get some breakfast across the street while I waited to get my retainer created. I also noticed that they had Super NES which was pretty cool considering that is one of the gaming systems I grew up on. I highly recommend Ballard Orthodontics! read more

I loved my experience here! They were super professional but also listened to my needs and did their best to tend to them. We were trying to figure out the best way to correct my crowding, I was so impressed with how thorough they were and weighed the pros and cons of each option. I wanted the least noticeable option, and they honored that! Thank goodness. I work in a high school and didn't want to look like my high schoolers! Shafeena was funny and endearing, and efficient with my appointment. Suzanne was the same and made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision. came to Dr Chatur from a friend who highly recommended her. Not only did she do a good job but she exceeded my expectations. Let me explain. I need to wear mouth guard at night to prevent grinding of my teeth. However I hate the process of getting fitted. My last dentist was going use "putty" and make a mold. For some reasons it gives me anxiety and I just can't do it. When I had a consult with Dr Chatur, she was able to make me a mouth guard without using any "putty". She uses this 3D scanner that apparently makes an exact image / copy of my teeth. The process was so easy and anxiety free. She was so patient and professional. Her staffs were great too. During her examination of my mouth she also noticed, anatomically, that i'm more prone to snoring. I always knew I snored. This is the first time that anybody could pinpoint the root of my problem. My son was a patient of Dr Chatur for over three years. She attached a "nance" to his upper teeth. She left it in and never took it out. As a result he experienced halitosis and excessive plaque. We could not figure out why his breath was so bad as we were following both Dr Chatur's instructions as well as Dr Mamiko's (the adjoining pediatric dentist office). We were continually shamed by Dr Chatur for bad hygiene habits when in fact it was the "nance" that was the issue. Not only did Dr Chatur and Dr Mamiko allow the "nance" to stay in his mouth they also left unneeded bands and other "plaque traps" in his mouth that were completely unnecessary and served zero purpose. The last straw was when she removed his brackets and as he winced in pain she blew it off and told his teeth "to enjoy the water park". My son has very little to zero enamel on his teeth, Dr Chatur was aware of this and when I told her that he was in pain she dismissed my concern. My son also has a high tolerance for pain so I knew at this point we could not continue treatment with Dr Chatur. I immediately sought treatment for my son with another ortho and it's been life changing. The very first thing he did was ask why there was soooo much unnecessary hardware in his mouth and he removed it. Immediately his halitosis was gone and his general health improved. Terrible experience and we'll never return. It's shocking that someone that knows so much about her industry has no problem treating her patients like this. I'd give her zero stars but that's not an option. I'm also never letting my son return to Dr Mamiko's office because she was my son's dentist and saw all the unnecessary hardware in my son's mouth and never did anything about it. I feel like Dr Mamiko isn't able to stand up to Dr Chatur. read more

She was generous and honest in explaining all of my options, and just so encouraging and warm and kind when I was overwhelmed about different costs and options. I have hesitated for years about going back into braces. My teeth shifted after the lower retainer bar was taken off. But with the change in my bite came some eventual issues with possible mobility and spacing. Being an older adult I hesitated but with my dentist recommending Dr Chatur, I went ahead and scheduled a consult. I was pleasantly surprised with the friendly staff and detailed explanation, including a video of what options could be done to fix my bite. With the expertise of Dr Chatur, I chose Invisalign for my Orthodontics. I have to admit it has been a great experience! I never thought I would say that about braces! Worst experience ever. I regret my decision to go to Ballard Orthodontics very much. Dr. Chatur told me she could close the gap between my two front teeth, and almost 22 months and $6500 later, the gap still exists. There are so many problems with this place I don't know where to begin. First of all, they lied about what they could do for me. Second, they never have time to book your next appointments because they are too overloaded with clients - whenever I was supposed to come back in "In 4 weeks" or whatever - they could never schedule me in 4 weeks because they were already booked. So it went to 5 weeks and 6 weeks out, which prolonged the duration of the whole procedure. That's why it took 22 months instead of 12. On top of that every single employee is way too overly nice - it's a fake nice. I am actually a pretty nice person myself, but whenever I walked in the door, the smiles that greeted me made me cringe. SO FAKE. Dr. Chatur is abrupt and abrasive, and she never spends enough time with you to explain the process or even what she is doing right at that moment. In fact, all employees put their hands in your mouth before saying "Ok, I'm about to do this" so you have no idea what is happening while it's happening. When it came near the end of my whole procedure Dr. Chatur explained to me options, because the gap never closed, and then when I called back later to ask about those options again because I was confused - she (1) refused to get on the phone with me, even after asking and calling several times and (2) LIED to me about what she had told me previously. She knew I was upset invisalign didn't work and just wanted me out of there as a client. Overall terrible. Go somewhere else, this place sucks. read more

I had a very bad experience. First, our initial consultation was via phone for my daughter's treatment. On the first in-person meeting, Dr. Chatur did not even take the time to personally introduce herself or make us feel welcome. I have grave concerns about their hygiene, and at the second appointment my daughter had thrush. When I spoke to Dr. Chatur about her office's hygiene she became defensive and rude, rather than just changing her gloves like I politely asked. I cancelled our contract 3 months into a 12-18 month treatment, and was given NO refunds, despite the fact that in 3 months she had spent maybe a total of 1/2 an hour with my daughter chair side. She has a large staff which means that this is more of an orthodontic factory, and they touch everything without gloves. Hardly any personalized service or attention given to you by the orthodontist herself. I am eating the $2,400 in order to go with someone who will actually take the time to meet with us and make me feel valued as a patient. read more

Dr Chatur and her entire staff are wonderful. I mean it. I'm in my fifties and adult braces aren't fun but Ballard Orthodontics makes the experience go well in every way possible. I'm sensitive to plastics so I can't use invisalign, and I have ceramic brackets on top and metal on the bottom because my bottom teeth are smaller. I have multiple chemical sensitivities, and Dr Chatur has been graciously accommodating to those needs, which I deeply appreciate. I'm halfway through my teeth being moved -- some of my teeth are being rotated in multiple directions and others are being moved to close a gap where a tooth was extracted last year, so there's a lot going on in my mouth, but I feel like Dr Chatur has it all under control. I especially appreciate the kindness of the staff. The office itself is cheerful, clean, and well designed, so the whole experience minimizes anxiety. There's easy parking, and my son loves to play the "old fashioned" PacMan game while he waits for me. Dr Chatur looks in his mouth every once in a while, so we know when to bring him for braces too. I wouldn't take my child anywhere else for orthodontics. read more

I was in need of a new retainer. It had been at least 12 years since I had braces, so I didn't have a dedicated Orthodontist anymore. I googled the closest Orthodontist to my house, and was directed to Ballard Orthodontics. I contacted them by email, and received a response almost immediately, which was a great first impression. Once I explained I was just looking to get a replacement retainer and that I needed an appointment as early in the morning as possible so that I didn't have to miss much work, I was able to schedule an appointment just a few days later at 7am. Perfect! I was emailed all of the paperwork that I would need to fill out so I didn't have to spend the 5 extra minutes doing that in the morning. When I walked in, I was greeted very warmly. I handed over my paperwork and was taken back instantly. April did my impression, which was quick and mess free! I was done within 10 minutes of walking in. She let me know that it would only take 20-30 minutes to make my retainer. I walked across the street, got some coffee, went back to the office and waited. The receptionist was extremely friendly and chatty. April let me know she was done, I went back to make sure it fit, and it fit perfectly! My appointment started at 7am and I was walking out the door WITH my retainer at 7:40am. One of the most friendly, painless and stress free Orthodontic experiences I've ever had! I'm so happy my dentist referred me to Dr. Chatur, she is the best! She is so warm and friendly as is the rest of her staff! I chose to have Invisalign to help straighten a few lower teeth as well as correct some bite issues.
