I've worked with Fred Ball numerous times over the last 2 years. On a personal basis, Fred has handled small projects like fixing a single lock on a file cabinet and medium size projects like rekeying my home which involved replacing several lock sets. Fred also handled a major project which involved rekeying our entire church. We were just completing a major renovation/addition and Fred replaced all of the locks and lock sets in the church and keyed everything to a master key system. i had an old (but quite big and heavy) Fortress safe to open (lost both keys and the digital keypad was not working anymore). I reached out to Fortress for help but since the serial number was not stamped in the safe but just a sticker on the back (and of course half of that sticker was gone) hey could not get me replacement keys. they also refused to provide me drill points or other help to open the safe (only locksmith gets that information for obvious reasons) I started to reach out to well over 10 locksmith in the Columbus area. - some of them stopped responding after i sent them pictures of the safe! - some came back with outrageous estimates (yea i can open it but it will cost you $750 and will most likely destroy the safe)! - some told me the safe cant be picked/opened without destroying it and make it unusable and may take hours to drill it open! Since i have had some past exposure to locks in general and after i spent several hours on YouTube and Google research - i know it was BS what i got told from other "locksmith" and continued to look for someone who actually knows what he is doing and not trying to rob me blind. FINALLY I talked to Fred Ball. He was the only locksmith with a VERY REASONABLE Price and told me he will NOT have to destroy the Safe and he was able to open the safe within MINUTES (!) WITHOUT (!) drilling or destroying the safe. after the Safe was open he even put the new lock in and educated me on what to look out if i buy a new safe. read more

I left a message for Fred Ball on Sunday morning and he not only called me back, but came out and completed the job expertly on Sunday afternoon at an extremely reasonable price. Mr. Fred Ball helped me out of a jam while i was replacing some deadbolt locks on my home. They were supposed to be the "smart key" variant but it would not work. He told me to come right over to his shop and with his special reset tools made short work of the locks so the same keys worked both locks. He also made me two new keys. Professional and reasonable.
