The idea came to me that a specialist in home entertainment systems may be able to help me, This was last Saturday so I called Custom Automation Technologies, Inc. in New Albany who were open until 6 pm. The owner, Dan Hoehnen, answered my call, talked with me about my system, and said he would come out that same afternoon and take care of it. Which he did, for about 1.5 hours he skillfully integrated a Roku stick into my mini-network which consists of an 11 year old plasma TV, a DVR, Spectrum cable box, a 11 year old DVD player all controlled by an 11 year old Bose Life Style sound system. Others had failed at this integration task, but Dan knew exactly what had to be done. He explained every step as he worked so that when he was finished I had full Roku capability on my system. He also explained how I should access and use the new feature, even helping me to document every step in the process. To top it off, he invited me to call him anytime I have a problem or a question. In summary, I could not be happier with the service provided by Mr. Hoehnen and CATI. The service was fast, expert, courteous and totally effective. Thank you, Dan and CATI! I would recommend G-flo for any tech project. It's a great value and great service…read more I had slow internet despite having what I thought was a good network. I had lots of mesh routers (eeros) but somehow I couldn't get reliable service throughout our house (2 floors + basement). That's where G-flo came in to save the day. Our technician Brian arrived early and investigated the situation. We had coax throughout the house and he was able to get internet flowing from the basement to the 2nd floor. I thought the problem was solved but we had some issues with the first floor so he CAME BACK and solved the issue with the first floor too, no questions asked. This was more than a value. This made the difference between working from home making sense and being unworkable.

My WiFi was very inconsistent and live TV would buffer or play at 360p. I have a Spectrum 500mbps…read moreplan. When troubleshooting with Spectrum, they just want you to reboot your modem or they will tell you it would work better with their $10/mo router. With Brian, he was able to utilize old phone cables in my house to create a stronger connection. After adding mesh systems to these phone cables, I have steady WiFi throughout the house. My SONOs speakers do not disconnect, my TV plays consistent 1080p/4K channels, and I haven't experienced any lag when gaming. Brian did a great job understanding my needs and completing the job in a timely fashion. He diagnosed the issues, purchased equipment, and completed installs all in the same day. Highly recommend, especially if your internet service provider is leading you to dead ends.

My husband and I have been having issues with seeing the live feeds from all 3 cameras on our app…read more This issue has been going on a month or so. The first time I called, the techs did a trouble shoot. They rebooted the panel and all three cameras 3 times and we were still having the same issue. They had a tech come out to check the cameras. The tech stated that 2 of the cameras were fine but 1 of them (doorbell camera) needed to be replaced. So we received an doorbell camera at no cost. My app worked for a little while and then stopped working again but my husband was never able to see his live feed on his app. I called back again and the tech performed a trouble shoot again by rebooting the cameras and having me go outside to trigger the apps to see if it work. It did work for me for a short time but my husband still was not able to see his live feed. The biggest issue is that when the camera's are triggered, we cannot see the live feed when we tap on the notification that pops up on our phones. We call again yesterday, 2/25/2026. The tech performed another trouble shoot by rebooting the cameras and having me go outside and trigger the cameras to see if my husband and I can see the live feed from the notification on our phones. It would work once and then when triggering it again it doesn't work. They had us uninstall and install the app on our phone a couple of times, which helped but only after a couple of times the camera's were triggered. I had to call them back a few times yesterday because they instructed to give them a call back if it happens again. After doing this repeatedly and still not getting any results, I request to speak to a manager. Previously, on a call, I was informed that there was an upgrade to our cameras that would perform better. They asked what type of cell phones we had. When I told them that they were Androids, they informed that they have been getting the same calls from Android users and they were aware of a software issue they were having. They could not give me any ETA of when the issue would be fixed. After all of this, I wanted to speak to an manager to request a free upgrade because we have been having this issue for over a month, calling multiple times and we are still having this issue. The manager told my husband and I that they would give us a $75 discount on our bill but could not give us the free upgrade. They could give us a 25% discount on the cameras. This has been a headache. I explained to them that this could possibly be a bad situation. What if someone was trying to break into our home or garage while we are at home and we try to look at out live feed and can't do it risking our lives to look out an window? What if we are away from home and cannot see the feed to see what is going on? We still were told that this is the only thing they can do. We pay our monitoring service every month on time and we are valued customers due to my husband being a military vet. We feel that they have not taken care of us. We are still having this issue.

I had the door bell moved to accommodate a storm door and the tech ran the wiring outside and left it there. Every time I call the rep, he says he will take care of it, but every month it`s the same crap. The panel regularly drops out and I have to reset the system. Stay away if you know what`s good for you.

These guys are top-notch…read more I had bought all the items I needed for my surround system separately, I knew what I wanted and could afford. ResAv was more than happy to do the custom install. We worked on a plan and it was up to them to execute the plan. At the last minute I decided to use Sonance in-wall speakers instead of what I had bought, so some tweaking was done in the process. No problem. (By the way the Sonance speakers made all the difference in sound and especially look) ResAv did all the custom wiring. In some cases it was difficult. My crawl space is not small, but not large either. They installed the connections to the receiver. No problem. The result is a clean looking and superb sounding A/V system ready to handle anything I throw at it. Over the three years they have always been there for information, consulting, and on-site when I need for that to happen. Pricing is competitive. In an industry where you usually don't get what you pay for, you can count on that with ResAv. They are honest, hard-working, creative, and VERY knowledgeable people. Don't look any further, give Aaron or Mike a call.

I know a handful of friends/family that have used ResAV and they all say the same thing, "best in town." My guess is the "business owner" that gave the unfavorable review was asking for the moon. Also to note, this is a small business Custom Integrator, not a 1-800 fix it. So running a service call, for a speaker issue that was installed by whomever and whenever, won't be top priority. Nice attempt with, "as well as asking for a price on an accessory," I doubt it.

Purchased a setup from these guys thinking it would play nicely with my existing smart home setup…read more This was not the case (without paying an additional cost) and I wanted to return my equipment and cancel my subscription. Apparently (and I was not told this in person), it was a 36 month contract. I called to see if I could get out of it, and was met with a pretty nice gentleman who noted down my information and said that while he could not make the decision, he would forward the information along. It's been nearly two weeks and I have yet to hear back. I don't like to leave bad reviews, and would be happy to change this one if I could get some better communication. Update: I Called in. They said there were several notes on my account, they just never remembered to call me and update me. Long story short, there's nothing they can do. And even though I was never verbally informed about the 36 month contact, I am still responsible for paying out the 1500.00 to get out of the contract. This is probably one of the worst experiences I've had with customer support. This is aside from the fact that I've also had their entry sensors falling off my windows and setting of the tamper alarm. For those looking for security systems for your home, I'd recommend something like SimpliSafe. Its cheaper. There's no contract. And you do not need an additional subscription to get basic Google Home support.
