The idea came to me that a specialist in home entertainment systems may be able to help me, This was last Saturday so I called Custom Automation Technologies, Inc. in New Albany who were open until 6 pm. The owner, Dan Hoehnen, answered my call, talked with me about my system, and said he would come out that same afternoon and take care of it. Which he did, for about 1.5 hours he skillfully integrated a Roku stick into my mini-network which consists of an 11 year old plasma TV, a DVR, Spectrum cable box, a 11 year old DVD player all controlled by an 11 year old Bose Life Style sound system. Others had failed at this integration task, but Dan knew exactly what had to be done. He explained every step as he worked so that when he was finished I had full Roku capability on my system. He also explained how I should access and use the new feature, even helping me to document every step in the process. To top it off, he invited me to call him anytime I have a problem or a question. I had lots of mesh routers (eeros) but somehow I couldn't get reliable service throughout our house (2 floors + basement). That's where G-flo came in to save the day. Our technician Brian arrived early and investigated the situation. We had coax throughout the house and he was able to get internet flowing from the basement to the 2nd floor. I thought the problem was solved but we had some issues with the first floor so he CAME BACK and solved the issue with the first floor too, no questions asked. This was more than a value. When Matt arrived on the day of the estimate, we discussed the situation and I asked him to put a paper estimate together so I could review. Within hours of the appointment, I had a pdf in my email detailing the work I had requested, and several additional items I had asked Matt to price out. I hemmed and hawed a little, so there was a bit of a delay (my fault) in getting an appointment scheduled, but I did that too. John and Andy showed up right at the beginning of my scheduled appointment window and did a fantastic job. I even threw them a curveball or two, but they didn't have any issues with. I say the mark of a good install team is being able to deal with indecisive customers, and these guys did great. In short, they were able to mount the TV covering the space, using the room behind to mask all the A/V equipment. The makes myself, but especially the Mrs., very happy. In looks fantastic, and the work was very reasonably priced. I was able to pay online for the work, which was a nice convenience. I will be using DHD again for some more work to make my A/V imagination come true, after we do a little work filling the space out with furniture. :)

He plowed on with details of their service. I rudely told him to leave, and not ring any more doorbells in the dark, hoping to save our neighbors from being woken. I feel a little bad for him, because someone sent him out into the night to do this. What kind of company does that, to their employees and their potential customers? She came up with excuse after excuse...."We were bought out" "You talked to the wrong person" "You have to write a letter" "You wrote to the wrong person" blah, blah, blah....
