I came to Balian Springs for celebrate my birthday with some self-care care and relaxation. To maximize my time, I arrived right after they opened at 9. It was nice to seem to have the place to myself for a while before more people came in. This was also during the middle of the week, but by the time I left the spa was pretty packed. It's also cheaper during the week, and if you buy a student ticket. The facility is stunning, making you feel like you're in the tropics. The heated pools on the first level were the perfect start to the day. My muscles almost immediately felt looser and relaxed. The massagers were a nice touch as well, just the press of a button gets jets of water shooting at your back. They have smaller pools in the larger one with hotter temperatures, and there are 4 on the side along the wall as well with varying temperatures. I enjoyed all the saunas with their various health benefits. The bar offered different frozen CBD drinks and mocktails. Kelvin was the man! He made you feel right at home, and I like how you can sample the frozen drinks. I got the Mango Guava CBD water, which has the same amount of CBD as the frozen drinks for half the price. It was refreshing, delicious, all with zero sugar. For lunch, I ventured to the 2nd floor and ordered lemon pepper wings with a side of truffle fries. Of course there was an upcharge to get the truffle ones. It was nice and hot, and very filling. I enjoyed the aroma room, immersion room, and peeks my head in the multimedia room. There were also numerous areas to lounge and relax as well. The third floor was the rooftop bar and outdoor heated pools. Ive started to notice that people who like King's Spa dislike Balian Springs, and I am one of those people. I like that King's Spa provided uniforms. At Balian Springs, you wear a "modest swimsuit" with an optional robe and they provide a towel as well that you carry between the spa. I think that the uniforms at Kings Spa keep things more sanitary. I also don't drink so the bar options at Balian Springs don't appeal to me. I did try the virgin sangria and it was a lot of sugar. The body scrub experiences are comparable. I have tried the Gold full body scrub and CBD full body scrub at King's Spa, and the K Scrub luxe at Balian springs. All three include the body scrub with an exfoliating glove, a wash, oil, massage and hair treatments if you want. The services are comparable in price between the two locations, ranging between $170-$220. Balian springs is definitely a larger spa space, and you can spread out, but there's pool right in the middle so naturally there's a lot more conversation. I prefer the quiet of King's spa, but at the end of the day, a spa is a luxury I hope more people can experience. read more

We went for the whole day(on a Friday) - and am so glad we chose to. I am curious if it's less crowded on weekdays because it was pretty packed, but still enjoyable. We arrived at 9:00 am and only one person was checking in before us. We put our sneakers in the room out front, but I decided to carry mine inside in case I wanted to use the gym. Which I ended up not using because I was in total sloth mode. They did give us towels, robes and slippers. There were 3 sizes of unisex robes (s, m, l) and slippers were true to size. The only thing you need to bring is hair comb and swimsuit. We did pay for massages- and they only last 55 minutes regardless what you get added on. When I go again - I probably won't add on a massage because the place offers enough to do without needing a massage. We had an amazing time, and I just loved the different sauna offerings. Hi Everyone, My husband treated me to a wonderful experience yesterday at this business to kickoff my Birthday Weekend. I sent him an IG video months ago & he remembered. Anyway, the place was clean, for the most part the staff was professional (I saw 1 staff member use a bathroom stall w/ no toilet paper & she didn't wash her hands. Mmmmhhhmmm I immediately told another employee), the spa services staff (masseuse, scrub lady from GA, & facial lady from the Ukraine) was superb, & the food was excellent (head chef is a brother from NY. I had to tell him how good the eggplant cibatta [need to be sold in stores & delivered] & shrimp quesadilla were. We stayed for seven.... YES SEVEN hours... It was worth the hour & fifteen minute drive.. We will be back. PLEASE keep up the good work. Currently visiting Balian Springs and unfortunately feeling pretty disappointed, especially considering the $100+ entry price. I understand that it's a popular spot and crowds are expected, however staff openly shared that they were short staffed, which made the experience frustrating. There was a line just to get into the locker rooms, food wait times exceeded an hour with only two people in the kitchen, and the downstairs small bites area was closed, which only added to the congestion. I'm not sure why additional guests were admitted under these conditions. Accessibility was another issue, the elevator was not available to guests, which is surprising for a four-floor facility. That said, the sliders and fries were decent and honestly earned the extra star. The 4th floor helped redeem the experience a bit, the cool breeze paired with the warm pool felt amazing. Bathrooms were clean, and staff continued to tidy up despite being overwhelmed, which I appreciated. One patron mentioned this level of crowding is normal, which makes me unsure about returning. The concept and space have potential, but the execution and crowd management need serious improvement to justify the price point. read more

What a relaxing day! Next time I will come right when they open and stay the full day. I came on a week day and it wasn't crowded at all. The only negative was some other guests were playing videos without headphones in some of the rooms (how rude). A couple notes--upon check-in, we were told no reentry despite a FAQ on the website indicating you can leave and come back. Also, "no outside food or drink" means no water bottles too, or you have to empty them. You check in at the front desk, put your street shoes in a locker, grab your shoe locker key, then move on and get your robe and slippers. Then move on and place your clothes in the clothes locker, get your swimsuit on, and you're set to enjoy the services. We spent forever in the pools--the individual massage jets were so good we didn't even need massages at the spa itself! And even though it was a chilly day, the rooftop pool was still great. I tried all of the speciality rooms, and next time I'll plan better to be able to enjoy them longer. Lunch was great, reasonably priced considering, and had a wide variety of options. I was even able to take a quick conference call in their meeting space area! Showers were just normal and offered shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. 100% will be back. read more

For the entrance fee, they should stay open to 11. They start shutting everything down at 9:00 pm. For the gym, they require to wear your flip flops and then put your shoes/socks on once inside the gym. I try to go once a month. Does feel like a more luxury experience compared to King Spa. It has been about a year since I was last year and this experience was just as good as the last if not better. This time I came on a weekday. It was less crowded than when I came on the weekend but still very enjoyable. The check-in process was easy. The locker room area was immaculate and clean. The previous time I came, the rooftop pool was under construction so it was closed but this time it was open and that is where I spent most of my time. It was a nice warm sunny day so it was relaxing to lay out on the pool deck. Since it was not crowded, I got to spend as much time in all of the sauna rooms that I wanted. So I came here during the week because I knew that it would not be crowded. It was a wonderful treat and you almost feel as though you are not in Virginia. The weather was nice. The pool was lukewarm and the hot tub was everything! Balian gives you a tropical vibe; they have several pools, which are located both indoor and outdoor. You wear your bathing suit throughout the facility and they give you a robe and slippers to use for the remainder of your stay. If you are interested in going to the different sauna rooms, you can extend the length of your stay. However, I don't particularly like staying in them too long because they get too hot for my liking. They also have different prices for massages and other services . Is Balian Springs worth the $165 weekend price? Sure. But only if you don't plan on spending any more money. First off, we waited in line for 45 mins to get in. The staff also acts like they are at a spa. But that I mean they take their leisurely time and don't work with any sense of urgency. The facility is nice but they nickel & dime you for every little thing. The drinks are $27!!!!! The spa services are average prices but you still have to pay the hefty entrance fee. I also couldn't believe that with all the saunas and hot spas, there was a complete lack of water other than little 2 oz cups that you couldn't carry around with you. I don't think that's very safe. You can spend up to 4 hours here without getting bored or redundant if you take your time relaxing at each room/section. It was SUPER busy here on New Years when we first arrived. Took my friend here for her bachelorette party and a time was had. We spent the entire day there and used the event room for a private time with just our party and it was great. We enjoyed the full relaxation even though she was the only one to do extra spa treatments. We went here recently to celebrate our anniversary and it was such a relaxing experience! For a Monday though it was a bit busy and crowded which I wasn't really expecting. I love how on top of cleaning their staff is as you can see them mopping regularly and emptying trash frequently or wiping chairs down between client use. We did stay here for a good part of our day and ate lunch which although a bit pricey was pretty decent to taste. There are several different rooms available to relax in and I love the attention to details that went in to making sure this felt like a getaway. The indoor and roof top pools are heated and very spacious! They have several temperature hot tubs making it easy to find a space to unwind. We did get a couple massage while here and it was one of the better massages I've had! Needless to say I'd definitely go back here and spend another day relaxing pool side. Oh and I forgot to mention that by the roof top pool is a bar and the drink were not only good but the bar tender was super friendly and generous. I'd highly recommend Balian and I'm grateful to have got to experience this. Be prepared to spend some money though because each service requested like massage, facial and so on are an additional cost to the entry fee and the couple massage package price is per person. I'd also suggest booking in advance because their book does fill up and you can be added to the wait list but you may end up waiting all day til an opening becomes available. The elevators don't work, the rooftop pool is literally eroding, and to make matters worse, your checkout system was down. Instead of a smooth process, we were asked to handwrite our credit card information on a form to be charged later, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious security concerns. If you do use a Groupon, it is only valid Monday - Thursday and not valid on Federal Holidays. Make sure you read the fine print for additional restrictions. Please note that there was only one person working at the front so the line and wait was long. Plan to come as soon as they open. Their outside pool is heated so you can go all year round. They have a section where you are floating and pushed around in the corner of the pool. There are multiple waterfalls and sections to sit in and feel the water pressures. What I didn't like was that a lot of those sections were not working. They also have a very large indoor pool. They also have Jacuzzi's and colder plunge areas as well. They have a lot of rooms, salt, gold, etc. Love the many options. They have a smoothie bar but it was closed in which I wanted to try out. They have food options you can order from. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Zucchini Noodles from the Kuta Kitchen. It was sooo good! My friends ordered from the Niko-Niko Sushi and ordered way before I did and I got my food first. Their experience with the sushi place was not good. Not only did it take over an hour, they also messed up their food. What went well???? Everything went well. We had visitors in from NY and wanted to take them out for food, fun, and relaxation. Wife surprised me and and our friends with day at Balian Springs. Not just any day...Father's day. The facility has monthly annual and daily rates all with military discounts if you qualify. The food was fantastic, and on the rooftop there is food, music and Bar....and quiet as it was kept, had some wonderful mixed drinks. The facility offers an array of saunas as well as various events throughout the say. My friend and I took advantage of the sipping event which features Japanese whiskeys. Been here twice and both times I enjoyed myself. It is quite pricey so keep that in mind. Food and drinks (alcoholic drinks) are VERY EXPENSIVE. We spent $75 on TWO DRINKS! I don't even remember how much the food was. It was my birthday, yolo, the drinks were good I didn't complain too much as long as I could taste the alcohol. The sliders are really good and they come with fries. The quesadilla was also good. We saw someone get wings, they appeared to be crispy, I kept that in mind for our next visit. BEWARE: I finally visited Balian Springs with some friends. Overall, the facility was okay. They have an array of different pools, saunas, rooms, etc. I feel like Balian Springs has potential to be so much better but it gives the feeling of being "nickeled and dimed" while charging you a non-nickel and dime price. I was unsure if I could bring my water bottle in so I left it in the car. Big mistake - they provide water stations; however, they have the tiny, cone paper cups that makes it impossible for you to get any substantial amount of water or obtain water that you can carry with you to drink as you go in and out of the saunas (which is very significant to consume when using the saunas). The food is somewhat expensive and if you do not read the fine print, you can end up tipping twice because they automatically charge gratuity. The place is filled with fake plants. This would be okay if this place didn't charge such a luxury price but instead they half ass it with having fake plants all over. They choose not to spend the money to maintain real plants but their prices should reflect that. Hot Tub Folliculitis: I was basically there all day and I didn't see anyone clean or disinfect especially the pools. My back started itching after leaving Balian Springs. I found out that I contracted hot tub folliculitis, which lasted a week. In my opinion, Balian Springs is not worth the pricey entrance fee especially with the lack of maintaining a clean environment. It would be much better to spend the money at a local spa getting a treat and having the peace of mind in knowing that it is much cleaner. read more

Balian Springs is always a vibe. Whenever I plan to visit, I clear my schedule cause I'm staying the whole day. It so therapeutic, relaxing, and allows me to disconnect from the outside world for a few hours. The indoor and rooftop hydrotherapy pools are amazing! I haven't been bold enough to try the cold plunge pools, but the hot plunge pools are more my speed. Initially takes some getting used to, but once you're in it, it's so relaxing. There's a bar at each hydrotherapy pool that offers frozen drinks zero proof wine, and CBD infused slushies. I always enjoy a different sauna too. Especially the gold room and pink Himalayan salt room. Still not bold enough for that cold room. Lol. You can't bring in any outside food or drinks but their food options are decent. Options include sushi, poke bowls, fries, sliders, wraps and salads. The spa is kept pretty clean and the staff is friendly. The day passes are perfect and a student discount is available with a school ID. I need to visit more often than I do. read more

What an amazing experience! I'm a bit of a germaphobe but when my partner said take the day off, I couldn't ruin this day with my peculiarities. I'm spoiled and it's hard to please me. However, this day was perfect. Unfortunately, we had a long wait to get into the establishment and that made me unsure of how the day would go. Once we were in, everything went well and flowed smoothly. Even with the line of people the venue was moderately filled and not packed. The pool area on the roof was beautiful and has an astounding view. Illusionary for sure! It's amazing how when you look over the pool there is an industrial parking lot. The beauty above is a stark difference. My partner made sure to get us drinks so the time in the hot sun was refreshing! Nothing like drinks and a pool! Felt like we were at a resort honestly. Massage time! My masseuse was Hope, she was awesome. I got a full body massage (thanks babe) and it was great. We tried to get food but the sushi people were on a break so we got more alcohol and saved our appetite for a real restaurant outside of the venue. There was a chess board and we love chess so of course we played. Cute addition. There are tons of places to relax, definitely a place to come when you just need to regroup. Balian Springs has public pool vibes while approaching private pool pricing. As stated in it's name, it is a social wellness club, emphasis on the social. It's not giving spa. It's giving community pool with spa amenities. Which is absolutely fine, but I think the dichotomy between what this place purports to be and what it actually is leaves patrons frustrated. I also think the fact that anything goes, despite their policies, is hard for people. You can absolutely swim, dive, float, be on FaceTime, film content, be intimate, play music, scream, run, and wear whatever you like. There are no rules at this place. You don't have to shower before entering the pools. Staff doesn't clean during the day. So by the afternoon, there is trash everywhere and the pools are littered with hair and jewelry. Why you absolutely do not have to have your hair up and back to be in the pool is beyond me, but like I said, no rules. Actually, I was the first one in the pool during my visit, and there was a very visible tissue in the plants. So if staff missed that, who knows what else they are missing. By the time I got to the locker room at the end of the day, it was clear no one had vacuumed at all. Restrooms also seemed poorly maintained during the day. Also, for a place that is somewhat new, the rugs in the saunas are incredibly stained, the juice bar tables for charging were not working, and there are holes in the ceiling in the relaxation room. So operationally, this places leaves a lot to be desired. Now, you may think I hated Balian Springs. I did not. I absolutely loved it. I was there for 10 hours. It was fantastic. I'm already planning a return trip with my boyfriend. We are both Pisces so this is our type of place. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which was great for a first time visitor. It's beautifully designed and feels like an oasis. I was super relaxed during my visit. I had a panini for lunch, which was delicious. The staff at the juice bar couldn't make my juice (I'm not sure why--maybe she didn't know how, but it's not hard), but no big deal. I definitely want to book a treatment at the Lilikoi Day Spa, which needs to be booked in advance. But I can imagine a day at Balian Springs being even better with a massage. The locker rooms are big and there are plenty of showers. I love that there is a swimsuit dryer. Do note that while I saw a decent amount of handicap parking spaces, there are no ramps into the pools (only steps) and you there are only stairs to get to the second and third (rooftop) floors, so it's not super accessible. I wish I could get Balian Springs design with a Spa World atmosphere, but until then, I'll be returning here. read more

This was an anniversary day trip surprise I booked for myself & wife. This place is {{{AMAZING}}} They have different kind of pools for relaxation like hydrotherapy + it has different kinds of saunas, steam rooms with therapy, each room has various health and wellness benefits for your overall health. They have outdoor pools too. But since it's cold out, everyone was indoors with the exception of the out door pool on the 3rd floor right outside of the bar... The water were heated. Oh yeah it has 3 floors and a smoothie bar, sushi bar, and 2 other restaurants inside. So there are 4 small pools like hot tubs beside one another... 1st Tub - Water is 39°/41° 2nd Tub - Water is 68° 3rd Tub - Water is 101° 4th Tub - Water is 104° So you're supposed to submerge your body in all 4 starting from Cold to Hot, I tried the 39° I didn't get no further than my feet; Felt like I was repeatedly getting stabbed wit' Ice Picks... But I did all the other ones, my wife did the 39° tub, She better than me, I just couldn't... But the main other big hydro pool was really nice, it even has like a lazy river that has current that moves you around from one side to the other. But the one thing I must emphasize is that this place is not cheap, it's {{{VERY}}} EXPENSIVE + everything is Ala Cart. You have to wait to pay once you arrive, but they also offer massages and stuff, now that you have to book online, and still pay for it separately once you get to that area. But my wife loved it... I loved it, and I'm sure you will too. My husband and I came here for some rest and relaxation a while ago during the week. Crowd level was medium-high. When we got there first thing in the morning it wasn't bad. We enjoyed the variety of options of hot tubs and jacuzzis. For the environment itself I would give a 4/5 stars, but for food 3/5. I did not enjoy my meal although my husband did. We really enjoyed out trip the day spa. Everything was travked with put wrist band, which is linked to your locker and in spa purchases. We were give complementary robes, towels, and slippers. They had so many amenities included in the price. There were lots of therapy/sauna rooms available included a gold room, salt room, infrared therapy, and a cold room. My absolute favorite area was the rooftop infinity pool and hot tub area. It was amazing. We really had a chance to relax and even added on a CBD oil massage in the massage area. Next time I am in the area and in need of some relaxation, I will return. read more

I came to Balian Springs to celebrate my birthday and had high hopes for the day. We arrived around 10:30am. Upon entry we were bombarded with questions by the front desk and advised to make appointments for services right away because there weren't many options left. I was taken aback because it was literally 10:30 and I had only been there for 5 minutes. I shared again that it was our first time visiting at that we wanted to get settled before booking anything. Once we walked down the hallway we got an abrupt welcome from a guy who shared we needed to remove our shoes and then directed us to the locker rooms. Once we entered the main floor we were pleasantly surprised by the expansive open space with pools, bars, saunas, steam rooms and places to sit as far as the eye could see. Every single detail had been well thought through. Because my intention for the day was to get a massage we made our way to the second floor once we got there we learned there was a sound bath meditation event and a full schedule of weekly events (this was not on the website). Once we went over to the spa the woman at the desk was very nice. There weren't any couples appointments available and there was only one appointment that may have actually worked for our time at the spa (if I had wanted to skip lunch). I was really frustrated once I learned this and felt like the whole purpose of my trip was wasted. The woman at the spa was empathetic and offered an overview of the entire facility and a guidebook with more information. I appreciated her kindness and wondered why the front desk staff didn't share this information with us. After getting the guidebook we decided to start with the first floor. We explored the various jacuzzi's, saunas, and infrared rooms and we then made our way to the 2nd floor (the elevator was out). There was a meditation room, workout rooms, work space, lounge, immersion lounge, seating areas, spa, media room, and dining area. The space on the second floor was quiet and mostly empty. I think the amenities would have been a really great addition to my day if I had known they were available. I also found it odd that all of the spaces were empty. Lastly, the top floor was a little more interactive and less calming with music (pop, top 40s) playing and bar and infinity pool with what appears to be a lush landscape backdrop (don't look too close they are trees between the parking lots) , jacuzzi's and cabanas. The rooftop is a nice space but the view was very lackluster. Overall I think Balian Springs has potential the interior space is beautiful, the food was good and the portions were generous. The areas for improvement start with the website, the atmosphere upon entry into the space, the availability of services (and the communication regarding those services), the drinks are extremely overpriced ($30 for one cocktail). Overall, this was huge disappointment for such a special day and I really wish I could do it over again because I would definitely have chosen different spa. Thanks to Groupon, I was able to experience Balian with support from a great deal. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! And I would definitely return again. Facility cleanliness: I rate this a solid 10 as I noticed maintenance staff cleaning the common areas immediately after folks were finished eating or sitting. They also did a great job at consistently mopping wet areas to prevent slip and falls. Included treatments: I indulged in the Himalayan Salt room and Loess Clay on the first floor. Felt absolutely refined and relaxed after 15 mins of both. Following this, my friend and I spent a really long time in the pool sitting by the water jets while receiving the most relaxing massage from the bubbles. Finished off the steam room experience with Chromotherapy, and that in itself was a perfect way to wrap up the day. Fun activity: we signed up for the $5 mocktail Mondays class and while the instructor was fun, the class needed a little music or upbeat to make it more exciting. Food: The chicken caprese salad was delicious! Huge portion and freshly prepared. The sweet potato fries were a miss because some of my fries were still really hard in the middle and uncooked. No worries however, staff was to remove the $2 additional cost. Total for the sandwich $16 plus a $4.17 bottle of water. Beverages: immediately following the salt room, I ordered the warrior juice which consisted of carrots, pineapples, lime, and ginger ($12) very refreshing juice but wished that it could have been a little more cold. Nonetheless, the taste was spot on. Locker rooms/showers: kept very clean and managed well and they even have a cute area to dry your swimsuits. Robes and slippers were provided but sadly we had to size down with the robes and size up with the slippers because of limited sizes available. Overall, this place is where you want to go for relaxation. Sadly, they did not have any massage treatments available on the spot but I would indeed return to check out that service. read more

Balian Springs is an awesome, beautiful, and a very clean facility. The food was delicious. Staff are courteous and friendly. My only con is that, it's not senior citizens friendly. The elevator is not easily accessible, you have to find an assistant to escort you in the elevator. In my case I could not find an assistant. The hot tubs that I used on the second floor did not have steps to go into or out of the hot tubs, which made it difficult to get in and out of. Standard chair height chairs in the lounge areas were not easily accessible through out the facility. The bathrooms are handicapped accessible and kept very clean. Overall it was a good experience. I enjoyed a nice spa day here with a small group to celebrate a friend's birthday. Overall, it was an ok visit. The customer service here was top-notch. Every staff member that I spoke with was extremely helpful, pleasant, and just a very comforting addition to the visit. The locker room amenities seemed to be well maintained. I wasn't a fan of seeing broken slides, I'm not even sure why they would be offered to me, or anyone - they should be replaced. I understand that this is not a new location, but there are some noticeable maintenance updates that should be tended to. There are a few knobs and buttons that should be cleaned. There was some murky, nasty stuff on some of the metal inside of the Hydro pools outdoors. Indoors and outdoors there were quite a few jets that did not work. I'm not a fan of the rooftop bar only serving alcoholic beverages - coconut water, or any other electrolyte beverage should be readily available instead of having to go to the second floor. I'm not a fan of the paper, cone shaped water cups. The Aroma lounge left much to be desired, it needs some more aroma, I forgot I went into that room until I looked through my photo gallery. The saunas were fantastic, the Gold room is my favorite. I think the saunas were maintained well. The infrared section was a nice touch, even though I had to move from a few chairs because some of the lights above were out, and the ice box was invigorating. The drinks that we had were tasty. We enjoyed the Berry fizz and Arise and Shine. We had orders of the lettuce wraps with chicken, the sliders, truffle fries and regular fries, and the turkey wrap for our food. Nothing we had blew us away but it was edible and the portions were good. I'm happy that I finally got to experience the spot that I have heard so many great things about it. We loved being there on a weekday where only a handful of people were also there. It was a decent experience. I find that I enjoy other spas more than Balian Springs but I'm not 100% against coming back here. I hope some cleaning gets done. read more

Amazing spa day complete with some real needed R&R. Even when it started raining outside we had no clue. Decent food selection at ok pricing. Massage was heavenly, but also a bit Henry on price. Super awesome staff, super clean facility and will def safe up to be able to visit again. Mind you, just entrance alone $130 on weekday. Then massage fees, food - an easy $500-$600 per person.
