Hi Everyone, My husband treated me to a wonderful experience yesterday at this business to kickoff my Birthday Weekend. I sent him an IG video months ago & he remembered. Anyway, the place was clean, for the most part the staff was professional (I saw 1 staff member use a bathroom stall w/ no toilet paper & she didn't wash her hands. Mmmmhhhmmm I immediately told another employee), the spa services staff (masseuse, scrub lady from GA, & facial lady from the Ukraine) was superb, & the food was excellent (head chef is a brother from NY. I had to tell him how good the eggplant cibatta [need to be sold in stores & delivered] & shrimp quesadilla were. We stayed for seven.... YES SEVEN hours... It was worth the hour & fifteen minute drive.. We will be back. PLEASE keep up the good work. I hope they open up a location in Upper Marlboro (not Westphelia part) so I can get a membership & come weekly.

Currently visiting Balian Springs and unfortunately feeling pretty disappointed, especially considering the $100+ entry price. I understand that it's a popular spot and crowds are expected, however staff openly shared that they were short staffed, which made the experience frustrating. There was a line just to get into the locker rooms, food wait times exceeded an hour with only two people in the kitchen, and the downstairs small bites area was closed, which only added to the congestion. I'm not sure why additional guests were admitted under these conditions. Accessibility was another issue, the elevator was not available to guests, which is surprising for a four-floor facility. That said, the sliders and fries were decent and honestly earned the extra star. The 4th floor helped redeem the experience a bit, the cool breeze paired with the warm pool felt amazing. Bathrooms were clean, and staff continued to tidy up despite being overwhelmed, which I appreciated. One patron mentioned this level of crowding is normal, which makes me unsure about returning. The concept and space have potential, but the execution and crowd management need serious improvement to justify the price point.

What a relaxing day! Next time I will come right when they open and stay the full day. I came on a week day and it wasn't crowded at all. The only negative was some other guests were playing videos without headphones in some of the rooms (how rude). A couple notes--upon check-in, we were told no reentry despite a FAQ on the website indicating you can leave and come back. Also, "no outside food or drink" means no water bottles too, or you have to empty them. You check in at the front desk, put your street shoes in a locker, grab your shoe locker key, then move on and get your robe and slippers. Then move on and place your clothes in the clothes locker, get your swimsuit on, and you're set to enjoy the services. We spent forever in the pools--the individual massage jets were so good we didn't even need massages at the spa itself! And even though it was a chilly day, the rooftop pool was still great. I tried all of the speciality rooms, and next time I'll plan better to be able to enjoy them longer. Lunch was great, reasonably priced considering, and had a wide variety of options. I was even able to take a quick conference call in their meeting space area! Showers were just normal and offered shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. 100% will be back.

Looking for the best Korean spa in the DMV? Balian Springs is it! I've been to Spa World and King's Spa, and this place blows them out of the water. Location is perfect--no long drive to Centreville or Dulles. The drinks are next level, with a menu from their expert bartender, including CBD and non-alcoholic options for wellness. The spa is cozy, cleaned 24/7, and designed to make you feel like you're in Bali, with lush plants and calming vibes. Pools are amazing--perfect temperature, pressure, and a river-like current that's pure bliss. Lunch was simple but satisfying: chicken caprese panini and sweet potato fries. Price is the highest of the DMV spas I've tried, but the full experience makes it worth it. Balian Springs is the ultimate Korean spa experience near DC!

It has been about a year since I was last year and this experience was just as good as the last if not better. This time I came on a weekday. It was less crowded than when I came on the weekend but still very enjoyable. The check-in process was easy. The locker room area was immaculate and clean. The previous time I came, the rooftop pool was under construction so it was closed but this time it was open and that is where I spent most of my time. It was a nice warm sunny day so it was relaxing to lay out on the pool deck. Since it was not crowded, I got to spend as much time in all of the sauna rooms that I wanted. It was a very relaxing day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

So I came here during the week because I knew that it would not be crowded. It was a wonderful treat and you almost feel as though you are not in Virginia. The weather was nice. The pool was lukewarm and the hot tub was everything! Balian gives you a tropical vibe; they have several pools, which are located both indoor and outdoor. You wear your bathing suit throughout the facility and they give you a robe and slippers to use for the remainder of your stay. If you are interested in going to the different sauna rooms, you can extend the length of your stay. However, I don't particularly like staying in them too long because they get too hot for my liking. They also have different prices for massages and other services . Overall, the facilities is really nice. I just wish it was a little cheaper.

Balian Springs is my go-to when I need a day of relaxation. So many different rooms and experiences! I wish booking a massage got you access to the pools and saunas but unfortunately you have to pay for both separately. Because of that I've never booked a massage here, I just use the pools and rooms. It's so relaxing in the heated rooms and I love the jets seats in the pool. They also have a food area and the sushi is so good!

Is Balian Springs worth the $165 weekend price? Sure. But only if you don't plan on spending any more money. First off, we waited in line for 45 mins to get in. The staff also acts like they are at a spa. But that I mean they take their leisurely time and don't work with any sense of urgency. The facility is nice but they nickel & dime you for every little thing. The drinks are $27!!!!! The spa services are average prices but you still have to pay the hefty entrance fee. I also couldn't believe that with all the saunas and hot spas, there was a complete lack of water other than little 2 oz cups that you couldn't carry around with you. I don't think that's very safe. My friends and I did have a nice time, but I'm not sure if we'll return.

I came here for the New Years with my fiancé. We arrived at 3:45 pm and the spa closed at 9:30 pm. We spent the entire time there until closing. You can spend up to 4 hours here without getting bored or redundant if you take your time relaxing at each room/section. It was SUPER busy here on New Years when we first arrived. I would recommend not coming here on busy days or weekends. Unless it's for a special occasion or birthday. You won't fully enjoy the experience because you'll have to wait for space in rooms, they'll run out of towels, robes, slippers, etc. There's a women's only section with a pool and hot tub Food: I really enjoy eating the food here! Pretty much everything is good my favorites so far is the sushi, the animal style sliders, the cranberry turkey wrap, and their truffle fries. Order food when it's not busy so they make it properly and good lol Good to knows: The price is cheaper during the week at $130, on weekends it's $160 (Yesss for the entire day open to close) No the pricing does not include food or drinks/or speciality services The infinity rooftop pool is heated in the winter There are alcoholic beverages/bars, workspace, a small cardio room with gym equipment, There's rooms you can rent for events The cabana beds are like $200 and include one little mimosa drink canister, regardless of your group size (so only one drink per person). The drink is already mixed. Pack your own wash cloth they don't provide them You'll need two towels one for wiping the sweat off and one for putting on the ground wherever you choose to lay. They don't sanitize in between uses from what I've seen so everyone's sweat is everywhere and there's no wipes Get there early, check in always is a bit slow.

This is their immersion room. It simulates being by the beach while you listen to waves crashing.

We went here recently to celebrate our anniversary and it was such a relaxing experience! For a Monday though it was a bit busy and crowded which I wasn't really expecting. I love how on top of cleaning their staff is as you can see them mopping regularly and emptying trash frequently or wiping chairs down between client use. We did stay here for a good part of our day and ate lunch which although a bit pricey was pretty decent to taste. There are several different rooms available to relax in and I love the attention to details that went in to making sure this felt like a getaway. The indoor and roof top pools are heated and very spacious! They have several temperature hot tubs making it easy to find a space to unwind. We did get a couple massage while here and it was one of the better massages I've had! Needless to say I'd definitely go back here and spend another day relaxing pool side. Oh and I forgot to mention that by the roof top pool is a bar and the drink were not only good but the bar tender was super friendly and generous. I'd highly recommend Balian and I'm grateful to have got to experience this. Be prepared to spend some money though because each service requested like massage, facial and so on are an additional cost to the entry fee and the couple massage package price is per person. I'd also suggest booking in advance because their book does fill up and you can be added to the wait list but you may end up waiting all day til an opening becomes available. However it was so worth it and we left here feeling amazing!!

This was my first time coming here and I was excited since I heard so much about it. Came here on a Thursday in June using a Groupon. If you do use a Groupon, it is only valid Monday - Thursday and not valid on Federal Holidays. Make sure you read the fine print for additional restrictions. Please note that there was only one person working at the front so the line and wait was long. Plan to come as soon as they open. Their outside pool is heated so you can go all year round. They have a section where you are floating and pushed around in the corner of the pool. There are multiple waterfalls and sections to sit in and feel the water pressures. What I didn't like was that a lot of those sections were not working. They also have a very large indoor pool. They also have Jacuzzi's and colder plunge areas as well. They have a lot of rooms, salt, gold, etc. Love the many options. They have a smoothie bar but it was closed in which I wanted to try out. They have food options you can order from. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Zucchini Noodles from the Kuta Kitchen. It was sooo good! My friends ordered from the Niko-Niko Sushi and ordered way before I did and I got my food first. Their experience with the sushi place was not good. Not only did it take over an hour, they also messed up their food. They also put a temporarily closed sign to complete the current order and provide their pending current orders. Please note that there is a very long wait for food and to plan accordingly. They also have a spa center with other amenities for an extra charge. They have plenty of free surface parking around the establishment. Overall, I liked the place...it is a convenient local getaway.

What went well???? Everything went well. We had visitors in from NY and wanted to take them out for food, fun, and relaxation. Wife surprised me and and our friends with day at Balian Springs. Not just any day...Father's day. The facility has monthly annual and daily rates all with military discounts if you qualify. The food was fantastic, and on the rooftop there is food, music and Bar....and quiet as it was kept, had some wonderful mixed drinks. The facility offers an array of saunas as well as various events throughout the say. My friend and I took advantage of the sipping event which features Japanese whiskeys. The presentation was excellent and provided me an opportunity to sample the Suntory line of whiskey. Thr Hibikki won hands down. Overall the place was spotless, and the staff friendly and quick to address your needs

Happy birthday to meeeee

We arrived on a Thursday around 9am & the parking lot was full. Once we completed the front desk activities which included scanning drivers licenses (why are we recording drivers license info again?), we moved on to the lockers. An employee started his speech but he was speaking quickly & his voice was drowned out by other speeches. I missed most of the info there. This spa is lovely! I appreciate the freedom of wearing a swimsuit & robe versus spa issued uniforms or nothing. I also like having something on my feet especially going inside to bathrooms & protecting my feet on the hot pavement. Balian took the best of the Korean Bath Spas & conventional spas then threw away most of the rules. Many of my friends gave this spa high praises and I see why now. Potential areas of improvement: A. "Influencers" were busy holding court inside. Recording/creating content in the hydrotherapy pool so we bypassed it even though I wanted to get in. Isn't there a no recording rule? B. Drink prices are exorbitantly high. 2 drinks (1 frozen Miami Vice style drink from the island oasis machine & 1 mojito) were $60 after taxes, gratuity, & tip C. Moderate to loud talking in confined spaces. Others spa goers deserve to relax. D. Folks had long hair floating behind them in the outdoor pool. Tie your hair so it's not impacting others

Ask the Community - Balian Springs

Do they offer military/first responder/LEO discounts on their membership or daily admission?

Yes, call and ask.

Are veterans ID acceptable for military purchase?

They accepted the veterans endorsement on my driver's license so I assume veterans ID would work as well.

Do you have to pay for a day pass or can you just get a massage without the day pass?

You also have to pay for spa entry/day pass in addition to your treatment.

Do you wear a bathing suit while enjoying the therapies or just the robe? Also do I have to make an appointment to only do the therapies or can I just walk in for those? Since this is my first time I just want to try out a day pass.

Bring a conservative bathing suit only. Robes, a locker and slippers are provided

From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with the warmth and kindness of an angel disguised as a professional: Miss Marie. She is an absolute GEM. Sweet, welcoming, and the epitome of professionalism, Miss Marie instantly made me feel at ease. Her energy is so calming and reassuring, you'd think she was sent from a spa in heaven. She walked me through the entire process with such grace and clarity -- no question was too silly, and no detail was spared. Now, let's talk about the procedure area. Immaculate doesn't even begin to cover it. The space was spotless, cozy, and surprisingly luxurious. It felt more like a high-end wellness retreat than a medical appointment. Soft lighting, soothing scents, and everything meticulously clean and ready. I felt like royalty walking into a palace of purification. And the procedure itself? LIFE-CHANGING. I walked out of there feeling like I had just shed a lifetime of toxins -- physically lighter, mentally clearer, and spiritually reborn. I've never felt so cleansed in my entire life. If inner peace had a physical feeling, this would be it. Miss Marie, thank you for turning something I was nervous about into a genuinely uplifting and empowering experience. You're a miracle worker with the heart of gold and the hands of a healing goddess. I'll be back -- and next time, I'm bringing friends! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If you're even thinking about it -- DO IT. I still remember how while giving the massage she tried to trauma dump on me about her walking into her apartment to see that someone unalived themselves in it. Wtf?! Why are you telling me this while you are massaging me? Why are you talking to me? It's completely inconsiderate and inappropriate. And if you are a kind person it's hard to hear someone went through that and not have empathy- But I'm paying for this time and you are ABUSING IT!! I didn't want this woman touching me anymore she was just a soul sucking, destructive, bleeding spirit that needed personal help and to find another profession so that her toxicity wouldn't spread further. Then she pretended to be someone else and said that she was the only person available for the time time slot. I just said never mind. It seemed like they were ok with this nightmare of a soul working there in a space of healing for so long. I lost money on this and it's been years and I still have triggers of thinking about how terrible the service and the masseuse was. I HOPE they got rid of this person because I'm sure she single handily ruined significant income and clientele for this business. I haven't been back because her energy was so bad it ruined everything. I think she even pretended to be the owner in writing- it just wasn't worth the time to figure it out. it says a lot for a business to have someone so horrible like that around and they not see it. Rebuke!

The tub stung my insides as a woman that was not relaxing and very uncomfortable so then after 10 minutes of trying to put up with that, I then try again to take a shower to wash all the salt off of me that was also starting to sting my eyes a bit and still could not get hot water and it was only cold. I got dressed went to the man told him my experience and I still couldn't get the hot water to work instead of him apologizing all he has to say is nothing was wrong with the hot water. The last person who used it didn't say anything not an apology not nothing I would never use this place again and I would tell everyone to not use it.

I didn't think this was right, I asked to speak with the manager or owner and he said that he was the owner. I asked if he didn't want to waive the additional fee then I would want a refund on my gift certificates. He then hung up on me, with no refund. I called back, he didn't answer. Bad way to do business!

As a connoisseur of Kspas, I can tell you this place is 5…read morestars.. Its very chill and low key than Spa World. Very clean... same concept though. You get a shoe locker, and a regular locker. The bade pools are small. One warm and one cold tub... and yes its very cold.. A dry sauna and a steam sauna... I love that the shower areas are enclosed and more private. I was very comfortable to be in the buff than spa world and king. There are two rooms one is yellow ocher room and the other room is salt room. Both provide equal health benefits. As of today the ice room is still closed. The food is delicious. I got a large blueberry smoothie for $6!! I definitely recommend. For $30 its a deal. Schedule your scrubs early the book fast!

There's a $30 entry fee, which gives you access to lockers, a uniform, two small hand towels, three saunas, and a relaxing lounge area. (The steam room was unfortunately down when I visited.) They also have a café and offer additional services like different types of massages for an extra fee. The bathhouses are located inside each gender-specific locker room, and you must be unclothed to use them. One of the massages (only $100) actually takes place in the bathhouse, but I wasn't able to book it because they were fully booked until 7:00 p.m. The saunas were nice, but my top three highlights were: The food! I ordered kimbap and kimchi pancakes, and both were excellent. The kimbap came with a side of miso soup that was sooo delicious! The relaxation area. Staff walk around offering hot blankets to wrap up in. I was so relaxed that I almost missed my foot massage! The foot massage. It was everything and more, and the massage therapist was hilarious! A couple of things I didn't love: they initially assigned me a very high locker (thankfully my tall cousin switched with me ), and we weren't given an overview of the layout when we arrived. Even though the place is small, a quick explanation would've been helpful. Also, I was disappointed the steam room wasn't working. Overall, this is a great spot with amazing food and relaxing vibes. I definitely recommend it!
