I wish I had stayed home. I visited on a Saturday with two people. We booked ahead on the website -- $72 for 45 minute deep tissue massage, per person. We were running about 10 minutes late, but we called them and let them know. When we arrived, the front desk staff barely said anything to us and just whisked us back into the massage room. They barely welcomed us, they didn't ask about any focus areas or preferences, and it seems like they were not the strongest communicators. We got a very basic massage with a mix of back, legs, and arms. It was not at all a deep tissue massage. It was not relaxing. It was not worth it. I didn't feel anything at the end; like, I might as well not have gotten a massage at all. When we were done, they whisked us to the counter to pay. Again, not very friendly or communicative. There is a sign on the counter that says there is a $5 charge for paying with credit card, but thankfully they did not charge us that. The place is very barebones, like the service. They have about 6 massage rooms. We were the only ones there, and I got the impression there was only more than one staff person there because we booked in advance. It's walking distance for me so you can't beat it. -It's not one of those fancy spa places but it certainly is clean and cozy. -You can get same day appointments. -$70 for a hour long message!! 11/19/22 Looked at their website and saw no prices for services listed. I will see what I can find when i stop by in person. This place does accept insurance so this is a plus. The business has gone up in price to $70 an hour from the $60 dallors it use to be. *Good news/Bad news in a nut shell Good News: The good news is this place does have heated mattress pad. The massage table can be elevated by floor switch. Hot stone massage is offered too without extra charge. Hot towels are in the massage room so there no leaving the room and wasting time. Clicks are visible so you can see how much time has passed. Bad news: The same towels used on me ended up back in the hot towel dispenser for reheating. If this is a normal practice, other people's skin cells and other unknowns are put back on to the new towels. Curtains are not closed so any Frank, Dick and Jane can see you. 1 hour body massage is only my back, bit of glutes and little bit of thighs. Everything else is skipped. This excludes the genitals. Hidden cameras in the rooms so Ms. Lillehammer watch you with pleasure...if not in person through the open curtains. Cheated on body massage if only three areas are covered on the body.* Well everything is not everything is not copacetic. I just received a body massage, only may back and some of the glutes were done. Oh, and a little bit of thighs too. This makes a former massage place called Health Magic look like the Vienna Boys Choir. Imagine buying a new vehicle and when it arrives, the car/truck has no seats or wheels. This is the extent of what Jade Massage Center has to offer. It is for this very reason I have refused to pay. Yes, I am on camera and yes, other people heard me and the manager talking about massage ethics. We have officially come to an impasse. The police have been called and now we wait. While waiting for the police, I reflect on the fact the manager has the curtains open so customers, associates and the managers can see one getting massaged. During our talk the manager said she had cameras in the room. Whether or not other guest getting massage during out talks heard this, it has been recorded on the camera...maybe. The manager says no to me paying $35 dallors for the massage I received. She wants a minimum amount of $60 at most. "Nothing doing" I say. So we continue to wait. I will give this to 3:00pm and then make a decision. I sense there will be three different stories and two of them will be from the manager and Anna making me to be the monster. Well if you live long enough I guess you really do become the villain. I stand behind my decision and she stands behind hers. Well the police finally show up, but one of the two got lost in the mall area. One of the officer said he is a Ravens fan too after seeing my outfit. As luck would have it. Ms. Lillehammer ended up winning the dispute with the officer siding with her. Was I prepared to get arrested? Yes, but I decided to to get an arrest record. The officer did tell me other ways of fighting back even though I wasn't going to win this battle. Well the battle is over, but this war is far from over. In the mean time, if you come to this meander bad souls BEWARE the front part of your body doesn't get done according to Ms Lillehammer. She aitmitted to having cameras in the rooms as; as well, as wating me through the open curtains. Yes, Anna or whatever her name is did ask me if I was enjoying the massage. I enjoyed the back masssge. I enjoyed the glutes massage. I enjoyed the thighs massage, but many many times I signaled for her Anna to massage harder using her hands. Not elbows or forearms. She fail. It is an epic fail when you do not cover the curtains properly. And it is calls for law suit when you are told by the manager there are cameras in the massage rooms. I gave it two massages and 3 hours (1.5 hours each) & it's a heck no for me dawg!!! Yes, the prices are great but I work hard for my money so every penny of mine will be counted and spent on AMAZING things. The place is terribly situated in the mall and any noise from the outside carries inside. The cubicles used give no true privacy and you can hear all the other massages/conversations going on in the shop. Other patrons seem to come for the conversation cause they and their masseuses chat with reckless abandon!! First trip I had a lady... she literally dug her bony fingers and elbows into my body after requesting many times that she soften her technique to no avail. Second trip, a man presented himself and I thought we had it in the bag but nahhh, this man massaged my back, glutes and shoulders then proceeded to play with my feet for 30 mins. No legs, thighs or arms. Once he began to towel off the oil I felt as if I was being exfoliated, sorry Mr. my color is not something that wipes off-- it was so hard and aggressive, I truly was like yo, WTH. Oh and if you just need to be touched, go after 5, cause the construction going on atop the street can be heard AND felt throughout the workday. Excellent massage! The place is simple, very clean and well taken care of, I felt really safe and comfortable here. The staff is lovely too. The masseuse was excellent, very respectful and very good at adjusting pressure based on your body. I felt very comfortable and I could have easily paid for another hour because of how relaxed I was. It's been a long while since I've treated myself to a massage. I recently moved to Crystal City so I wanted a place that would be walking distance to my apartment. The owner was very kind. I received a text message an hour before the appointment as a reminder and he even called since it was a little hard to find. He was standing at the door to welcome us. (Note: it's inside Crystal City Shops and you walk some ways and take a left. ) The place was super clean. The blankets were warm. The towels smelled nice like they were just washed with a hint of spa-like aromatherapy. The full body massage was an hour long and it was more than I could ask for. The owner asked what my focus areas were and now I have no tension or pain. I loved that they also add in hot stones with the massages here. I came out feeling SUPER relaxed, and they provided a hot towel to wipe off your body after the massage, and a bottle of water. You'll feel like a million bucks after your massage, and the massage itself is AFFORDABLE!! That being said, I am planning on becoming a regular here. I wish I had read others' reviews before heading here, but I was in desperate need of a massage and saw 4.5 stars. When I called, the person on the phone told me $70 for a 60-minute massage. Not bad! And when I got there, the masseuse asked me if I wanted to up it to 2 hours. Why not treat myself?? Well, about 5 minutes in, I wanted to just quit the whole thing. The head rest was so uncomfortable, it gave me more of a headache than I had going in. The masseuse never asked me about pressure levels or areas I needed focus on. She somehow was way too light on areas I needed more pressure (like my neck and back) and way too hard on the most sensitive spots (like my feet and arms). I told her in the beginning that I needed focus on my neck, even pointing to the spot, but she didn't do much there, and my neck is just as stiff as before I went in. She didn't seem to speak much English, so I actually squirmed away from her a couple of times, including when she inexplicably started to roughly massage my breasts (covered by the blanket). She also rubbed repeatedly on the same areas without changing the spots or her strokes, to the point that even something that started okay ended up very irritating. The massage "rooms" are nothing more than small stalls with very thin walls, no ceilings, and only a curtain for a door. You can hear everything happening around you, from an employee's cell phone constantly ringing to other patrons' conversations to the cupping happening in the stall next to me. The business itself is in the Crystal City underground, but they leave the doors open so you hear everyone passing by. And to boot, parking for my two-hour massage ended up costing $23!! I am normally a great tipper. When it was time to pay, I didn't argue the amount but thought $140 was far, far more than sufficient to cover the masseuse's time. On the credit card device, it gives an option to tip, and I skipped that. Then the receptionist printed out the receipt and said, you can add tip here. I just said thanks and again left it blank. I then left the business and they chased after me to the elevator, saying I forgot to tip her. I probably should have explained why, but I was so ready to get out of there by then that I lied and said I was going to get cash. I'm still in disbelief that this happened! I have never thought about quitting in the middle of a massage, but could think of nothing else for two hours. I give this two stars rather than one only because the facility seemed clean and the people were nice enough (even when chasing me down the hall). But I will not return and wouldn't recommend it for anyone else. read more

Excellent massage. I requested a deep tissue massage by male masseuse due to neck/shoulder/shoulder blade pain caused by a strain. I told the masseuse about the trouble area. He had very strong hands and was able To give me a very firm deep massage. He Worked through the knots and strains. It was sometimes uncomfortable but when he was done- i had fantastic results. Tom at Jade Massage has helped me get through terrible pain and tightness in my neck and lower back. I have disc issues in my back and have had 3 surgeries in the last 10 years. I re-injured my back in Jan 2020 and then the pandemic hit. Jade massage had to close for about 3 months. What a nice surprise! I come to DC every few weeks for work. This time, I must've slept wrong or something because I woke up with what felt like a pinched nerve in my back. I didn't want to pay extra for a fancy "spa" experience like at most massage places, I just wanted my back to feel better. That's what made this place so perfect. I got a 1hr massage for $60, and it was exactly what I needed. Then massuse was super strong and knew what she was doing. No awkward moments, no thoughts of how this wasn't worth it, no pain, nada... At the end, a nice man (I assume was the owner), asked if my back pain got better. I told him yes (I was very happy), but still he offered to stretch my back out for free. Wow. My first massage was for 60 minutes. It was so good I have had two more. One was for 30 minutes. I didn't expect that to be long enough to do much good. I was wrong. I would recommend it to anyone short on time. The last one was 90 minutes of wonderful bodywork. I felt great afterwards. I hope to fit one more in before I start my drive back to Colorado next week. Anda is a professional skilled massage therapist. She has found and relieved more than a few knots. I prefer firm pressure and Anda has strong hands. But she is also sensitive to tender spots and asked about my comfort several times. On my last visit, I overheard a gentleman who was getting chair massage from Tom express his satisfaction more than once. Noise from the mall does drift in occasionally, but the pleasant music and quality massage are effective counter-distractions. I suggest giving them a try. read more

I had a lot of reservations about getting a massage during COVID but this place put my mind at relative ease. They visibly cleaned and washed hands, wore masks, and took my temperature as well as that of the masseur. For $60 I got a terrific one hour massage that was targeted at where I had pain. I felt terrific afterwards. Cupping was available for a $10 up-charge. The facility was very nice for a mall massage center and there was only minimal noise traveling in from the mall. I even bought a massage membership with a nice boutique hotel in Old Town, but they canceled the new-ish program shortly after we entered the pandemic period. Because stress kills, I knew I had to continue. I resumed my massage therapy at Jade about three months ago. For a 60-minute massage, it's super affordable--$65. I like super clean, especially around this time. They practice super clean hygiene; their linens for the massage beds smell like yummy clean laundry. I've brought everyone I know to Jade, and they all rave about it. It's a little surprising b/c they're in a mall, but they are the real deal. Stop by here a few times and was never disappointed by the massage work by any of the workers here. As many know about Mall Massage places, there are extremely thinned wall and you hear outside noises from the other venues. It's expected. I noticed another review where a person complained about the curtains being open and people have cameras in room. Curtain Massage places are 95% closed leaving a small amount open for supervision by management...this is known. I doubt there is cameras in the rooms. I been to many places and pretty much most operate exactly the same unless something is fishy in their operation. Haven't seen it here. I was surprised at what a great experience this was! I've passed by many times but wasn't sure about trying their services. One day when I was passing through and had a little time on my hands, I walked by and pulled out my handy Yelp app and was impressed by the reviews. So I went in and opted for a 60 min full body massage plus 15 min reflexology. I was led to my own little private room that had lovely dimmed lighting, a massage table that moves up and down, some gentle playing music, and a long bench with plenty of room to put my stuff on, versus other massage places that just give you a chair. This isn't a huge deal, but it's a small thing that makes a difference. I loved that the rooms are private and not just divided by curtains but actual wall dividers. I'm guessing that if things were really loud either in the hallway or in the rest of the massage business, it would be disruptive, but it was a weekday afternoon and things were pretty quiet so it was fine for me. Now for the massage--overall, amazing, relaxing and effective. I had to ask for an adjustment in pressure twice and my therapist totally got it right. I was so relieved I could relax and not have to ask her again and again. ALSO--she added in hot rocks to the massage which was such a nice touch! Something that is normally an added cost but this was automatic. The price is totally right too at $1/minute. Right now I have a membership to Comfy Feet in Dupont which ends up being about $50ish for an hour for reflexology, but the therapists are inconsistent, and there are multiple beds in one room, and the linens always seem a little dingy. When that membership expires, I will come here for my reflexology needs! So excited to come back. read more
