I was visiting from out of town for work and decided to try a New Ageless Massage to relax and release tension from my sore muscles. I purchased the Groupon deal for $78.50 for a 90 min hot stone massage. Helen was able to get me an appointment last minute and she was very sweet and personable. I have to admit that I was waiting on the bed for a bit before the massage began. The hot stones were nice, but I personally like a medium to firm pressure massage. I bought a groupon for a couples aroma massage for my boyfriend's birthday and we had a great time. At first we didn't know what to expect but the massage room was really nice and it was a very relaxing setting. The room was clean and they had baskets for us to put our clothes in. Helen who answered the phone while giving me a massage was not really doing alot. She shakes and pulls and stretches limbs more than massaging the body. I went there to use a groupon voucher and was not really happy with the swedish massage I went for. She did use a hot stone, which was a nice addition. Its hard to relax when the phone is ringing and Helen is just shaking my arms. This is not a yoga class to be stretching arms and legs, really. My friend who went with me, had Leigh(sp?) she said she did a good job, actually focusing on the areas that was mentioned on her survey we filled out when we got in. I hate to do this to them, because I believe Helen is very nice, but she has a thinner Asian woman on staff that should not be giving massages. I'm not convinced she's been through any formal training. I have had dozens of massages and this was supposed to be a Swedish massage. But... It instead consisted of rubbing into my bones (not soft tissue - ouch!) repeatedly, slapping my calves (not working the muscles in any way), and softly/ineffectively stroking my skin (again, very frustrating as my muscles ACHE and she would not work them at ALL despite my communicating to her where I would like her to rub the muscles). The "masseuse" also brought up multiple times during the massage that I should go on a fast to lose weight (?), that I needed to lose fat, etc. This was not something I wanted to discuss (I just had a baby and while I admit I need to lose some baby weight, this is not a relaxing or appropriate conversation to have with a client). When I brought this up with Helen after the massage, she should have given me a voucher for a new one or something. Instead she defended the woman, saying that she was probably promoting a "side business" she had (involving weight loss products, it seems). She said she would give me a 10-minute massage then and there to "wrap things up" (I guess she felt kind of bad?) and that I could come back for a $75 minute massage later (no thanks). She also alluded to not assigning their "best" masseuses to those who purchase Groupon deals. Not a great way to get repeat clients and for someone like me with chronic muscle pain and herniated discs, VERY frustrating. read more

A solid 4 stars.... This place is sort of hidden off in an office park in Route 1. If I didn't have a super cool GPS with all of the latest maps I probably wouldn't have found it. I came Friday after work. My lower back had been bugging me after running and lifting at the gym all week. While this place was small, it was a very very nice as Borat would say... For those a looking for happy endings try dubya dubya dubya rubmaps dot com. No need for me to go to that hilarious site. I was just looking for a cheap massage with a groupon so this worked out fine. The massage was great, it was sort of in between firm and medium pressure. It was much needed and took a lot of the pain out of my back. I fell asleep early like a wimp on Friday night before my wife got home so it's party time tonight. The masseuse was great too. She massaged my feet and face too. Overall, it was a great massage. Once she was done, I gave her a tip and stuck around for a few minutes to chat. The masseuse came up to me and gave me a hug. Caught me a bit off guard, but I can't blame her because I'm a hotty. The people here were very nice and gave me a punch card and asked me to return soon. The punch card is valuable because your 9th massage is free for 30 minutes (for people who get massages often). I get one once a month, but never used to get them before I had some back problems last year. To be honest, I'll probably check out more places in the area first because this was about 20 min from home and I like a firm massage. However, four stars here is the appropriate rating. Sadly, I must second the others. My massage was terrible. 1. Environment: simple office space with plenty of parking. Inside, the curtains cannot block out the noise or continual ringing phone (no front desk) 2. Massage: I asked 3 times for a deep tissue massage and got stretches/ pulls/ pinches (not kidding). After I left I realized my right hand is now noticeably bruised. 3. Service: after listing on my form that I have skin sensitivities and requested only oil, I discovered she had used lotion when I found a half empty container. When I questioned what had happened, she said "woops, I didn't look at that". Really? For 24 hours I was faced with a painful allergic reaction on my face, and had to contact the doctor due to hear lack of professionalism/ attention to details. Recommend going to another spa. Helen is absolutely terrific! I've been working with her since she opened up her spa (before the current location). I'm just sorry that I didn't post a review sooner but, better late than never :) I get monthly massages with her and I wouldn't change that for any reason!! She listens to me and really works through my ever so knotted shoulders which are derived from stress and life in general. I've even outsourced her to come work at some of my work events because she is that fantastic! Her demeanor and attention to detail are just the icing on the cake. I hope this place is at a growing stage because it has potential to be a good little place. The entire salon is in the space of a decent size reception area. It does seem like they aren't prepared for volume business. My last massage there was good but with the receptionist doubling as the massage therapist I kept anticipating my time to be interrupted by a phone call or another customer at any moment. Luckily we made it through my massage without incident. The therapist was good and focused on my tight knots pretty well. Just got done with a couples massage from Mike and Carlise. Mike did my massage and tailored it very well to my needs. He admitted to a diagnosing in the beginning and then tailoring the massage to that. I appreciate he didn't do a cookie cutter type of massage. So used to "you should try this type of massage next...." Kind of a hard sales afterwards. They were very much like "we hope to see you again" and handed us the member cards. He definitely did a traditional massage mixed in applying a technique to pressure points, he also did reiki and a verbal guided technique and took me on a mental journey to find my happy place. He put these nice smelling eye covers when I was on my back so I didn't have to stare at the ceiling. The music was very relaxing. The part I felt almost immediate relief was the foot and reflexology. He did say he noticed my left side was higher than my right side of my body. I also appreciate how he provided a lot of details behind why he was doing a certain technique at that time, and it was very personable of him as well. Mike is only there Saturday's. My husband had Carlise and he really felt she worked on his busted right leg. He immediately felt more flexible with it and more mobile. We're already talking about scheduling our next visit next month. Lastly I know this is minor but I appreciated how the beds were warmed and there was even a little device to rest your hands on when you were face down. First place to provide me that much attention to detail. Read other reviews: If you want to go when there's less noise, don't go on Sunday when there's the church and go near the end of the day. This place of business can't help block out everything. I really needed a nap afterwards but had errands to run. I had some stiffness and tension when I arrived. I felt like a new person when I left. Would recommend her. Was looking for a place that close to my house and I think I found it. Seriously one of the best massages I have ever had. My therapist was Mike and omg, he is amazing. If you want someone experienced and who knows what he is doing, look no further. He went above and beyond helping me loosen up all the tension, and not just did regular massage, but also incorporated Thai techniques to stretch me everywhere. And also showed me some stretches I can do at home to help specific areas of my body. I feel so good right now, I'm so relaxed and seriously didn't want it to end, I purchased Groupon for 70 min, but I feel like he did longer that that. HOT STONE MASSAGE. BEAUTIFUL CONCEPT ON PAPER. NOT SO BEAUTIFUL IN REAL LIFE. I was sent here through Livingsocial voucher's '$60 for 70 minutes of hot stone massage' and let me tell you, the service was definitely not worth $60...not even $5 of my time. I'm not sure if my horrible experience was due to the type of massage that I received or the service in general but I will elaborate... To start, parking was ample since it looked like a ghost's town when I got there. Once you've arrived to the plaza though, you will need to drive up a little bit further towards the suites in the back and there you will see neon signs indicating "massages"... and that's when you know you've arrived that the right location! Everything was smooth sailing until I opened the door and found that it did not open to a reception area but instead to three more doors (a door to the left and stairs leading up to two other doors). As you can see, I was very confused. I saw a piece of paper taped to the door on the left with massage quotes so I assumed that it was the right door to go through (and it was!) except it was locked. It took a few minutes for Helen, the owner/receptionist/masseuse, to open up. I had called about 2 hours earlier to set up the appointment so I don't understand why the door was locked??? Also, the interior of this place was just weird--- it seemed like two massage areas have been smooshed in what appeared to be half a kitchen and half a living room. Helen was my masseuse and she was very nice but that was probably the only good thing I can say about her. During my hot stone massage, she got up TWICE to answer the phone and the door!!! (as you can already guessed, the place lacks a receptionist). Because of this, I felt that I didn't actually receive the full 70 minutes that was stated on my voucher. She also *almost* burnt me several times with the stones. It was fine for the first few stones but once I indicated the temperature that I felt comfortable in she should have taken note for the other stones to follow...or am I expecting too much? Besides the stones, she also used hand techniques for the massage which I felt were quite inadequate. She said I had a lot of tightness in my shoulders so she kept kneading them but it felt more like a pinching sensation to me...and it hurts! She's not very observant either. It was obvious that it was hurting me because I was so tense throughout the entire massage session but she didn't pick that up until later....and then she laughed and joked about it. She also kept gliding her hands all over my back...the first few times were nice but for 50 or so minutes? A little bit excessive. (She definitely used her hands more than the stones which I felt defeat the whole point of the HOT STONE massage!) I wish she used other techniques and focus on working those trigger points on my back. In short, I will definitely not be coming back due to: 1) Lack of professionalism 2) Poor massage techniques 3) Distance (She offered me a mint and water at the end but the water was lukewarm. When I go for a massage, my number one aim is to feel relaxed and at ease, not only with the massage but in the atmosphere. I always find that here. I have to say, I did not appreciate this place when I first went. It is in a hard-to-find office park, the facility itself is a bit cramped and there are no frills. The beds are separated only by curtains in a *very* small space. It can be off-putting at first. If you're looking for a deluxe atmosphere with all the extras, this place won't be for you. The receptionist may answer a phone call or two while you're on the table, and you will hear it, as you are only a few feet away - just a caution! However, after an enjoyable experience at a relatively cheap price ($65 for 1 hour massage), I have been back a couple of times and have gained a solid appreciation for the place. I always ask for Hayme, who performs a superior massage service. I always leave in a relaxed state, after my Swedish massages with her. The pressure is firm but appropriate for relaxation. What I most appreciate though, is that this place is very unassuming and very low pressure. Sure, there are less-than-desirable aspects to the place, but that also comes with less snobbery and expectation on their part. Hard to explain, but the atmosphere is just kind of casual and lends itself to a more carefree visit. You come in, remove your shoes, talk in hushed tones, never have to wait, and are never hustled over any aspect of the visit. You just get in, get relaxed and get out. I decided for my boyfriends birthday to get him (well us) a couples massage + facial. I had never gotten anything done before so I was nervous. But we were welcomed in very nicely and professionally! I can't remember the names we had, but they were amazing!!! We had a 90min full body massage, with hot stones, oil/lotion, hot towels. The first time I came here is because I had purchase a groupon code and also it's close to where I live. I went in with excitement hoping that I can be a regular here. But then, when we walked in, there was no body. And when someone came, it took almost 20 mins to get us to a massage bed. When we finally laid down, it took forever for the to come and start the massage. Then the massage was fine. I was so disappointed because in the course of 1 hour, half the time the masseuse wasn't even in the room!!! I understand that I paid half the price for the one hour massage, but that doesn't mean that she can be there only half the time!! Wanted to use a social coupon I had and was trying to make an appointment. The phone representative did not know the hours they were open and yawned while I was on the phone. At one point, I actually thought someone was pranking me. No customer service what so ever. Given the ratings listed here and my experience over the phone, I am not even going to try to use my coupon. I would rather lose the money then go to a place where I highly doubt I would feel comfortable. p.s I have gone to many places to have massages. My 9yr old daughter and I had a Groupon $45 60-minute swedish massage today, Sunday, 12:30-1:30 with Lorraine and Nicole. We enjoyed it very much. We didn't experience any of the negatives pointed out by other reviewers in the past, loud church, answering phones, lack of privacy, etc... The therapists played soothing sounds and the oil was lavender scented, the room was dark and all my stress melted away. I have had about a dozen massages in the past three years I've started receiving massage therapy. And I can say without a doubt that this was the worst one. All the others were at least above average. But there were several things that just made this whole experience unpleasant: 1. She kept using the "karate chop" technique (which no massage therapist has ever used on me), even after I asked her to do more kneading. It just got to be annoying more than relaxing. 2. I told her to please try to work one trouble area in my back but she didn't. Every other massage therapist I've seen was able to find it on their own quite easily as it's always an area of horrible tension. I even guided her to it but she barely worked on it. She almost didn't even try. 3. I kept asking her to do things and she just didn't really pay much attention to them so eventually I just gave up on asking her to do anything. 4. The atmosphere just did not relax me whatsoever. The entire office is just in one large room and the massage room is just a partial-height partition. Throughout my massage, I kept hearing the door open and close and the phone ring. Not condusive to stress-relief at all. In fact, it almost encouraged a bit of anxiety because massage is a somewhat vulnerable state that requires relaxation to truly enjoy. Luckily it was a Groupon so I did not pay much. My husband and I paid for a body scrub, but his therapist only scrubbed his back and I only got the front. Strange! We laughed, but were confused and disappointed. I had a Groupon for a 60-minute massage for $45, made the appointment (which, BTW, was super easy to schedule), and forgot about it until I got an email from Groupon asking how I liked the massage. Oops. I called later that day to beg and plead, assuming I'd forfeited the Groupon. The lady who answered asked if I could come in today, and instead of chewing me out, she was very friendly. The location was actually a little better than what I'd expected, and I was greeted by the same lady. The inside is clean but no-frills. That was fine with me. There was relaxing music in the massage room. I could hear some of the music from the church service downstairs -- it was Sunday -- I probably will go back on a Saturday. But, it wasn't really distracting. My massage was with Lorraine, and she was amazing! She really focused on areas of tension and used firm pressure. She also used hot towels and hot stones. I could tell she really enjoys her work. This was one of the best massages I've ever had. Highly recommend Lorraine! They did not try to upsell me or get me to schedule another appointment. I read the Yelp reviews before buying the online coupon. Based on the reviews I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. It seems the majority of the issues in the reviews have to do with the old space they were in. None of things mentioned, were experienced by me. It was a great sports massage. I couldn't believe how relaxed I felt after the stretching and massage she did. I would go back again. Tip: The entrance of the building is perpendicular to Route 1 so follow the building numbers. I used the Groupon and got an appointment with Helen. The massage felt good, but it also felt a bit disorganized. I've had a few massages before (all through Groupon or LivingSocial) that seemed more systematic, professional --more like they're following a list of techniques. Helen seemed to "wing it" a bit more, but it was still very comfortable. As others have mentioned, the facility is essentially a studio apartment. I arrived on a Sunday when it wasn't busy so the only interruptions I had to deal with were 1 phone call Helen had to answer and one time the CD playing stereotypical relaxation tracks abruptly stopped (and started again a few seconds later). Overall, Helen was really nice despite her occasional stumbles with the English language and she offered to charge me the Groupon price if I returned for another massage (so I'll definitely come back). I'm docking 1 star due to the phone call interruption and the massage technique not being up to par with other places that boast about having certified professionals. read more

I'm not sure why the reviews are so low for this place... I was terribly stressed the other day, and incredibly sore from upping my running miles recently, so I googled local groupons for a massage place (I haven't found one to go to regularly since moving here)... it was a good deal, so I decided to give it a try! It was a small place (which I prefer), but that means that there was only a curtain separating you from the rest of the room. I'll take that over a bigger, more corporate feeling place any day... I must have gone at the right time of day, though, because the phone didn't ring and nobody was walking in and out during my appointment (actually, the only phone that rang was mine.... oops :) I called about an hour before I wanted to make the appointment, and Jaime gladly squeezed me in last-minute. Over the phone, she let me know that the groupon didn't apply to deep-tissue massages, but that she would apply more pressure than usual for a Swedish massage for me anyway (yay!). That ended up being the perfect combo. AND when I was leaving, they gave me a card to come in again at the same price as my groupon rate (woo hoo!). Now, I'm not really a 'massage connoisseur', but I've had a few in my day. Jaime was great! She focused on the places I asked her to, but she also worked it in naturally with the rest of my body. She asked a few times about pressure, but stayed quiet the rest of the time (NOTHING worse than a chatty massage therapist!). She didn't just "pull and stretch" like someone suggested that another therapist had done to them... aaaand, she threw in a couple of hot stones and hot towels -- lovely! Again, maybe I just had a fluke good experience, but I'll definitely be back. If you're looking for some place that's overly fancy spa experience, you probably won't like it here, but if you appreciate more 'down home', local venues for your massages -- definitely give it a try! read more
