The doctors in this practice are first rate. I love getting adjustments here. The women who are at the front desk are phoning it in. They take your payment and tell you where to sit. If your appointment is delayed they don't tell you anything. And they aren't friendly. I am hoping this is changed. These ladies need training in working with the public. read more

I think they've been serving Alexandria and the Northern VA area for quite a few years, but they're now in a beautiful new space with lovely, relaxing office spaces. Dr. Yi took her time asking me several questions during my initial intake. I never felt rushed. I felt she truly cared about me and my medical history. She spent a lot of time adjusting me, while also incorporating state-of-the-art chiropractic adjustment tools. I never got that icky feeling like a lot of chiropractor's exude, which is "you'll need to come back many times over several months to see any improvement." I felt like a person, not an open wallet. I also felt their prices were very reasonable. This business checked off all the right boxes. I've been a small business owner in Northern VA for 30+ years so am all about customer service and quality delivery. I feel Bodnar Chiropractic Center mirrors those same ethics. I have had lots of experience with acupuncture. A couple of clinics. sadly far away in BAltimore, have been highly effective, and some not at all. Lisa, the acupuncturist at Bodnar, is excellent. So long as I live nearby, she will be my clinician. A few weeks ago, I woke up with a back and leg pain I've never experienced before. It was probably sciatica. Realizing it wouldn't go away by itself, I made an appointment at Bodnar. Walking in, I was welcomed by the politest, most efficient receptionist you could hope to meet. But that is only the beginning. With two appointments, Lisa had relieved the back pain. She the started tackling other areas of pain. Because of arthritis, I live with pretty constant pain. Some medicines such as Voltaren help, but with acupuncturist Lisa, I can foresee the pain dwindling away to nothing. read more

Because my back tends to get out of alignment quickly, I have been going to Dr. Bodnar since shortly after he opened his practice in the 90's. He is a wonderful doctor who treats the whole person, including having supplements, pillows that support the neck and spine, and TENS machines to deal with the entire body. He is also very calm, relaxed, friendly and takes his time which encourages patients to tell him what parts of the body are painful and what actions cause pain or restrict mobility. His staff is great also. They are always very pleasant and are expert at handling insurance issues. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hansen and the level of care I've received as his patient. He remembers EVERYTHING, and from visit to visit, there's been a continuum of care, starting with fixing some weakness in my legs to treating and offering "homework" exercises for my upper back pain, to helping find relief for a tailbone injury, to helping me to eliminate lower back issues, and finally to the current addressing of my TMJ-induced pain and tightness. I feel like I get a much needed tune up every time I go in because he truly hears what I'm saying and cares about helping to find resolutions for my issues. One of my favorite chiropractors of all time; from California to Colorado to Virginia. He's personable and makes the whole experience as if you're just going to see an awesome friend who happens to be a fantastic chiropractor. They worked with me despite my insurance not covering chiropractic care. The electro-therapy (it's called something else; it's the pads that send electric pulses into your body) starts out each appointment (unless they need to move it to the end, which rarely happens) and then Dr. Bodnar always greets me with a smile and is genuinely interested in how I am doing in my body and in my life. Several times when I went in I was dealing with a cold. He gave me extra advice to help me heal faster each time and even performed a few acupressure points. One time I was totally stuffed up and after that my ears were popping for days. So much pressure was released from my head. He introduced a neck adjustment to me that I had never experienced and that made me feel taller immediately afterward. It was uncomfortable at first (I think it's called the Y axis) but he said it was the best way to help regain the natural curvature of my neck. And he always checks my comfort level afterward explaining that if it doesn't feel better that we wouldn't continue that adjustment. There is an initial exam and X-ray the first day. The exam goes through all your bones and explores your range of motion. The X-ray is specific to the area in your body that you need work on. The second visit is when Dr. Bodnar sits down with you and goes over your X-ray and his recommendations. Then you get the electro therapy and he does his adjustments. Every appointment is tailored to your specific needs of the day. I've never had an identical adjustment. Lots of the elements remain the same, but he makes sure to continue checking everything like a good auto mechanic does on your vehicle. I can't recommend Dr. Bodnar enough! I'm moving soon and may need to continue making the two hour drive back to see him for check ups. I always leave feeling better and don't need to come back until I've done something to throw off my adjustment. I'm an active, long-distance runner who also practices yoga, resistance and weight training. He never condemns me for the amount of miles I run or weight I lift. He always seeks to help me continue whatever I want to do in the most holistic and healthful way possible!! read more

I miss being able to go to Dr. Bodnar and Dr Brown. It's been years now. My current employer's insurance changed and I can not go anymore and I have since moved out of the area, but I have yet to find a staff and chiropractic work such as theirs. Please go to this Chiropractor. I do feel most are out just to do quick adjustments but truly aren't there to see your injuries or pain reduced over time. Their goal is to see you less and less over time because you are starting to heal and your spine is better aligned and more pain free. I was scared at first but after he confirmed what I already knew about my spine and some additional injuries I had as a child that was NEVER corrected. I knew he was out to hustle me. After my initial recommendation regime. I went from 3 times a week, 2 times, 1 then, only 1 a month. I immediately felt better after going each week. I haven't been relieved of my current pain, since I stopped going there. He's a good doctor and truly has your best interest at heart. Not sure if Karen is still there at front desk but she was awesome too. Dr. Brown was amazing as well. I throughly enjoyed going to either one of them. First class. I have been going with my entire family to Dr Bodnar since he started with only himself years ago. He has hired incredible assistants, and I truly am able to say that they have healed me. My United healthcare has declined their electronic stim therapy. But I would gladly pay for it and I will switch insurance companies. Heaven forbid they do something for a person that doesn't require pills and medication's from big Pharma! The adjustments x-rays and everything else were covered. Now on to my family. My husband was told by physicians that he would never walk again unless he got an operation and they scheduled him for two weeks later. After two appointments with Dr Bodnar, he walked in to the surgeon and canceled his appointment! He's the strongest one in the family still yet, lifting heavy amplifiers and cleaning stalls with my horse! No pills or meds. My son and daughter also got tremendous benefit from him. read more

Dr. Bodar is a godsend! For years I had pain in my back and tried everything to get relief. I was skeptical of going to a chiropractor, but my massage therapist insisted I go see Dr. Bodar. I am so glad I did! I called and left a message during their lunch break, and was very pleased to hear back from one of the friendly ladies behind the desk to schedule my first appointment. Upon my first visit I was treated so kindly and warm by the staff. Dr. B took x-rays and explained the areas of of concern. He then very thoroughly explained his plan to alleviate my pain and discomfort. I began my visits per his recommendations, and I feel like a new person. My pain is gone and my posture is even better! I received a beautiful Christmas card that was personally addressed and signed by the staff. I cannot say enough good things about Bodnar Center! I went there originally for an injury from running and ended up going back once I was better for regular chiropractic visits/adjustments. Dr. Brown worked his magic on me and I can't thank him enough for getting me back to a place where I can run without pain. I have also seen the massage therapist and she was so great. She really listened to wear I was having pain and focused on those places. It was the most relaxing experience I have ever had and can't wait to get another massage. I know go just for the health benefits of seeing a chiropractor. In addition, the office is such a great environment. Everyone who works there is so nice and a pleasure to see. I've been going here off and on for several years. Dr. Bodnar is always friendly and professional, and they generally have you use stim and heat before seeing him to loosen things up. The adjustments are always pretty much the same, but are done well and I usually walk out feeling substantially better than when I arrived and the feeling lasts for awhile. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable and take your problem very seriously, and I feel very confident that I am in good hands.
