We wanted something unusual for a wedding that would leave an impression. Valeria delivered on that goal and then some. Most of my guests had never even heard of a mousse cake before, and now I think for many it's their new favorite dessert. The little cakes I asked for were colorful and beautifully decorated in exactly the colors and shapes I requested, they added a wonderful touch to the presentation and vibe of the wedding. They were of course also delicious, both the regular ones and the gluten free ones. Speaking of gluten free. We had multiple gluten free guests including the maid of honor, Valeriya took care to make sure that the gluten free cakes were kept properly separated to avoid cross contamination, she also managed to make them a different shape and color than the others to make them easy to spot, while somehow managing to keep them beautifully on theme. Our gluten free guests were floored by how tasty they were. Valeriya manages to make a wonderful gluten free dessert that avoids the common shortcomings of a lot of gluten free baked goods, and that really brought an extra spark of joy to our guests. I could go on but long story short, I recommend From V with Love Cakes 100 times over. We went with the strawberry vanilla bean and for gluten free the raspberry pistachio flavors and loved both, but she has many others to choose from to match your tastes and occasion. I will hopefully never get married again, but I'm sure to have other big events in my future, and I'll plan to reach out to V for all of them.

There is a wide variety of unique flavors, and they all have their special touch to them which make V's cake so different than another bakery. On top of that, the look of the cake is so beautiful. Her designs are what amazes me and she can make anything adding her own twist to it (I asked for a strawberry cake and she did a beautiful job seen in the photo). I also love the quick and easy pick up, and how easy it is to message her about what you want on the cake and if you have any questions (super quick response too)! Overall I really suggest going to this place instead of an ordinary bakery for your next event, you will not be disappointed!

I missed out on a previous event hosted at Musang, but lucked out this time with a pre-order placed for pickup on Sunday afternoon. Often these baked goods are sold out pronto. Thankfully, there were no sports events scheduled, but freeway traffic was dense, trying to arrive in time, and dodge the forecasted bomb cyclone deluge. The pop up was hosted at Archipelago in Seattle's Hillman City where I received warm greetings from both Gracie plus Archipelago's Chef Aaron and Amber with their young child. Shortly thereafter even Wendy K was there too. Convergence of all these individuals truly made my day. This pop up was also a collaboration for Filipino American History Month. Her Calabasa Pie was baked with squash from local Filpino farmers and spice mix crafted with Archipelago. Delicious and with such depth of flavor! The paired beverage was from Enroot, a sparkling cold brew tea with apple lemon, cayenne, and yerbe mate. Side note : founded by Brad Pitt to help support the James Beard Foundation. Pairing beverage with dessert to highlight tasting notes was brilliant. And the unique sticker provided in the pop up package was inspired by Amber at Archipelago and created by the Ninang Nunu line available through Etsy. Yet another supportive, creative Filipino artist! Gracie of Grayseas Pies also raises donations through sales to benefit social justice organizations. The overall cross pollination and collaborative spirit among so many individuals in the local community is something I can truly support. The enthusiasm and genuine baking with love is truly apparent. Keep up with future Grayseas Pies pop up events and collaborations through www.grayseaspies.com and/or via IG @grayseas.pies

That's Grayseas wrapped into one little Filipino Woman owned business. I believe everyone one of her pop up a certain amount of proceeds have been donated to various foundations. on top of that she's genuinely one of the sweetest people I've met. So gracious and welcoming. I had been following Grayseas pop ups on Instagram thanks to fellow Yelpers Bryan K, Nelson L and another friend Ray for awhile but timing and location didn't always work. Until I was visiting my dad's on a weekend where the pick up was at The Station coffee house on Beacon Hill. The majority of the time you'll find her picks at minority or women owned businesses. This particular pop up she and another baker were doing a fundraiser for Filipinx Food Seattle documentary. I had pre ordered three of her pocket pies. The flavors were Peach Mango, Elote and Alex Pie a tribute to her brother (strawberry cream Oreo). So delicious!! What I like most about her flavors are that they aren't overly sweet. She doesn't do savory often so if you see one jump on it. My favorite that day was the elote!! So far one of my favorite Filipino inspired flavors has been the calamansi meringue and I'm not usually a meringue person. The pick up was at Hood Famous in the ID another Filipino Woman Owned business. Loved the unique tartness of the calamansi also if you have seen how small calamansi are you would understand how much work went into this one. My sister in law is Filipino and my brother is always trying Filipino recipes so whenever I get one of Gracie's pies that is influenced with Filipino flavors I'll save some to share with them. For the entire month of October Filipino American History Month Gracie did collaborations and pick ups at a number of Filipino owned businesses around town. A portion of proceeds for all sales in October are going to the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns. The pies were paired with Enroot Tea another Filipino owned business. I was able to pick up two of the five offerings. The pick ups I was able to get were the cassava langka at Musang and the Kalabasa pie at Archipelago. Both were delicious and ingredients I hadn't had before also loved the teas and can't wait to buy more. Each pairing also had stickers created specifically for each location pick up by artist @ninangnuni What I reallu loved was reading the stories behind the reason she selected each location. Can't wait to share the pics from Seattle Restaurant Weeks menu by Grayseas.

That said, the overall taste was still very satisfying, and it's definitely a banh mi I'd recommend. If you're someone who likes the traditional banh mi then I'd recommend the House Special, which was the 3 kind of hams with pork or chicken of your choice.

I went with the bestie on a Saturday noon right after eating at Kauai Family Restaurant literally right next door, and there were already people lining up for their pastries, through the line wasn't out the door though it was close. The inside gives the feel of a casual dine-in area for fast food with few tables for 2-4 people while the rest of the space is the kitchen and counter. Staff are up front taking orders and grabbing the stuff you ask for. Small slices of cakes are available, and notices around mention to call ahead of time if you want larger sizes of those same cakes. We both decided to share their rainbow cake, which is a three-layer strawberry, lime and orange along with guava, lime and passion fruit flavored layers on top. Not much to say about this other than despite all these sweet profiles coming together, no one flavor outshined another flavor, and overall cake wasn't too sweet, surprisingly. One slice for $7.45 before tax is oddly huge even for the two of us to finish though, so this cake is definitely not best eaten alone; it's too good for that anyway! My favorite layer was the guava layer for how sweet yet mild it was. I've come back before for birthday cakes, and now I can see myself also coming back casually for their other cakes! Really high recommend for anyone around the area! Just be wary of the very limited parking it shares with Kauai; it gets full during peak hours and I got really lucky finding one right in front of Kauai itself.

My husband and I chose a Vietnamese-style wedding cake because we love how light and airy the sponge is. It's not overly sweet, and the cream is always so fresh and delicious. I came in with a Pinterest photo, and the baker immediately sketched out my vision. We scheduled a cake tasting for the following week, where we tried two different fillings. We were so impressed -- my husband never eats cake, and he absolutely devoured it! Delivery to our wedding venue was seamless and affordable, and the cake turned out beautiful -- exactly what I asked for, and it tasted even better than we remembered. Small con: There's no seating area for the tasting; we sampled everything at the counter, which felt a bit impromptu. But honestly, I didn't mind since I like to keep things quick -- we shared feedback, made decisions, and were done within 15 minutes. Overall, I can't recommend this bakery enough -- they made our wedding cake dreams come true!

These are not that. They are cooked perfectly the whole way, no doughy center, but also no hard/dry exterior. The cinnamon sugar is light, not syrupy or drippy. The entire thing was sweet, but not too sweet. Were they good? Yes. Would I wait 1.5hrs next time? Probably not. The macrina cinnamon rolls are just fine without the wait in my opinion. The matcha latte paired well with the cinnamon roll, and the two complimented each other. Will come back for more donuts next time though!

Cake descriptions on the website but you have to go in for slice and cupcake availability- you can't pre-order slices. The shop is easy to get to with ample close parking. Inside is cute and industrial. The shop folks were lovely as well, really warm and inviting. We selected 4 slices- malted chocolate, blackout cake, funfetti, and carrot pineapple. All the whole cakes were simply decorated, but beautiful. The hubs said his funfetti cake was okay, but not outstanding. I thought it was more of a white butter cake with nice chewy sprinkles. Delicious, but maybe not the explosion he was expecting. A classic birthday cake, elevated. The blackout cake has a really rich flavor without being overwhelming- a more milk chocolate Matilda cake vibe. The carrot pineapple is pretty much a perfect carrot cake- not spice or nut, but CARROT, in the most beautiful way. The buttercream on the carrot cake is the best I can remember having- butter flavor and a smooth, sweet cream taste. But all those accolades aside- the chocolate malt cake is, simply put, the cake I would go back for. The cake itself is a perfect, moist chocolate malt flavor, without an artificial tasting aftertaste. The frosting is if they made the inside of a malted milk chocolate candy into a light, fluffy buttercream, without the cloying sweetness. I am not a huge sweets person, but cake is a special weakness. This may be the best cakery I've been to- and one I will gladly pay for.

When learning they're sold out of the PB&J, I asked the cashier which slice I should get with the options I gave her. She suggested the salted caramel slice. The salted caramel slice was really gross. As if it was or almost foul. The cake had a flavor of acidity and expiration. Maybe thought there was rum or some type of alcohol in the slice, but there isn't. I was happy when they gave an extra caramel slice on the house but after a bite, no thank you. I couldn't finish the bite & it really disappointed us as it was my bf's birthday celebration. The cupcake was quite delicious as it had a nutty texture jam on the inside. Cake was soft, wasn't so sweet and loved the mixture of texture. The seasonal key lime slice was yummy. Super light graham cake flavor, good dense cake. Not so flavorful but it wasn't as disappointing as the other one. The lime flavor was the only star of the slice. After being excited to try this place for months, and after so many attempts at trying this bakery- this may not be a go to spot for me. Avg $11-11.50 per slice
