Came here to get some donuts. Bakery Express has been around for over 50 years. I'm upset I just found out about it! There is plenty of parking out front of the building. I entered and it smelled so good! There was a wall of fresh donuts; assorted ones such as filled, glazed, etc. They were $9.99/dz and the top self donuts were $1.25 ea. We got a dozen and they were delicious! Goodbye Dunkin'! This is a full service bakery and they have assorted pastries, a full custom cake ordering area (the cakes were gorgeous), and they serve breakfast and lunch items as well. Bakery Express also is a Ms.Desserts provider and there was a wall of assorted refrigerated cakes to choose from as well. All in all, the donuts were fresh and delicious and I can't wait to come back to try some other pastries and the breakfast/lunch items:
Please go just for the experience. It's truly wonderful to see such an incredible amount of baked goods in one place- it's like if the Costco bakery was an entire warehouse. We got a variety of donuts, which were pretty tasty. They've got every other dessert you can think of and even stuff to bake at home. Great stop on our trip.

**Craving satisfied and then some.** I stopped by Bakery Express in Halethorpe, MD on a mission for a really good donut and let's just say, they understood the assignment. I started with their "top shelf" Coffee Roll for $1.25, and it absolutely lived up to the name. It was huge, fresh, not too sweet, and incredibly filling. I also grabbed a Cheese Danish for $1.95 to go. It was soft, buttery, and bigger than my hand. For the price? Total steal. What I didn't expect was the full café experience tucked inside. Naturally, I ordered breakfast: a toasted egg and cheese croissant sandwich with cheddar and four strips of crispy bacon for just $8. Add in a refillable small coffee ($1.69) and my total came to $13.47. Worth every bite. I left full and happy. Service was smooth and mostly self-serve; I loved the attention to hygiene: handwashing stations, sanitizer, and even plastic gloves provided when selecting donuts. Tons of seating, clean restrooms, and yes handicap accessible throughout. They also offer grab-and-go items like salads and subs, which makes it super convenient if you're short on time. The coffee was hot, fresh, and tasted just right...no burnt aftertaste. And let's talk desserts: cupcakes, cookies, slices of cake in just about every flavor imaginable. There's also a custom cake section, which I didn't explore fully, but I'll definitely be back to try more. Overall: 5 out of 5. Cozy, clean, delicious, and priced right. A hidden gem worth revisiting.

Let me tell you.... I got up early this morning to come try this place out. Didn't make it here til about 830am. Parking was easy and let me tell you they were busy. I didn't know they offered some things where you could dine in. Dining area was nice, clean and spacious. The selection of goods were great. I chose a lemon pound cake, chocolate chip cookies, snicker doodle cookies, red velvet cupcakes and a slice of strawberry smith island cake. Nothing disappointed. Everything was fresh. My favorite was the strawberry smith island cake slice. It didn't even make it home. I ate it in the car. The service was very pleasant. Next time I must try the fresh donuts. They were looking good as well

At first, I thought my GPS had led me astray--it took me to an industrial-looking area, but sure enough, the bakery is right next to their corporate offices. Parking was plentiful, which was a nice plus. Walking in, I was shocked at how large the space was and the sheer number of desserts available. While I found the doughnut flavors a little underwhelming, the rest of their pastry selection more than made up for it. I tried a doughnut and a slice of cheesecake, both of which were good--just not amazing. I'd likely return, though, simply because of the incredible variety. If you're a dessert lover, it's worth a visit for the selection alone!
Bakery Express knocked it out of the park!!! The cake not only tasted amazing but looked fantastic!! My daughter was beyond excited and everyone at her party loved the cake as well. The team at Bakery Express really understood the vision for the cake and went above and beyond with the design. This is the second customized cake we've purchased from Bakery Express and it won't be the last. You can't go wrong with this bakery.

Good, basic, self serve donuts at the bakery express cafe. This is a corp bakery that supports multiple locations. The bakery on site is clean and donuts are good, but not "artisan" or homemade. You can taste the standardized process. -- still yummy. And a great price too!
This place is awesome! Not only are they a giant bakery providing desserts, cakes, breads and more to many businesses but they also have an onsite restaurant. I love the donuts here! They are super fresh and have a lot of variety. I love the pb&j donut. Their sandwiches are awesome, make sure to request a pretzel bun. If you need a fancy cake or pastry for an event be sure to stop in!
If you like old time bakeries and not the grocery store kind, this is the place for you. They do bakery catering as well as one on one. The area where items are baked is kind of like the size of a small factory and Yet their items have not lost their taste of what a local bakery used to be. And their staff are GREAT. Very polite and friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They have fresh bread, huge danish like pastries, pies, cakes and a large variety of donuts. You can dine here! They have sandwiches and beverages and a few dine in tables. Flash back 40 years and enjoy this place. You will thank me.
Bakery Express did an amazing job on my daughter's graduation and birthday cake! I showed them a lemon blueberry cake I had seen in a magazine, and they recreated it beautifully. They paid close attention to every detail, including the little pink roses because my daughter's middle name is Rose. Even though they didn't have the fresh blueberries and lemon pieces, they made the cake so I could easily add them myself. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious! I've also ordered baby shower cupcakes from them before and was very happy with those too. They are also very affordable. Thank you Yelpers for keying me in to this place. I live nearby and had no idea they existed til now. I was impressed by the variety of baked goods and the reasonable prices. I tried the chocolate frosted donut, seasonal peach muffin, frosted twist, and chocolate blackout cake. They have a case for donuts and muffins, as well as a refrigerated section. The refrigerated section has a variety of whole cakes, cupcakes, and cheesecakes among others things. If you don't want to buy a whole cake, they have a selection of slices at the register. They also have ample seating inside and a drink case (with milk to wash down the chocolate goods!) if you want to eat in. The employees I interacted with were nice too. I ordered a cake and cupcakes for my wife's birthday. Since it was a milestone birthday, I wanted to step up from the typical Costco sheet cakes and Walmart has been a disappointment lately. After thorough research, I landed on Bakery Express because of their pricing and prompt response to emails. I'm glad to say that it was a great decision. Every time I interacted, both in person, on the phone and in email, they've been nothing but pleasant and accommodating. Most importantly, my wife's cake came out nearly identical to the picture I sent them for inspiration. The cake was Red velvet w/ white chocolate mousse and white buttercream. I got 2 types of cupcakes. Carrot w/ cream cheese swirl & Lemon w/ lemon buttercream and amaretto filling. We loved everything except the lemon buttercream frosting. It had a strong chemical flavor to it. My wife liked the filling though. Overall, the experience was great. I'd definitely use them again in the future. read more
I could smell them from down the street! I was passing through and I smelled baked bread. The GPS confused me, because it's attached to the distribution center. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Very clean and spacious. The staff was also very friendly. I ordered a slice of strawberry smith island cake first...so good. Then I got the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. Everything was delicious!!! The bun is so soft and chewy. The chicken is seasoned pretty good too. I also got sweet tea. read more

Wow - what a gem! In the industrial park area, there is an unassuming fantastic bakery just waiting for me to buy a dozen donuts (or maybe someday a whole ice cream cake!). I arrived somewhat late in the day and was pleased to see they still had great options for donuts - and all of the ones below the top shelf are just .99! They also have lunch items, to-go food, cakes, pastries, muffins... the list goes on and on. The woman at the counter was friendly and made great suggestions as I tried to narrow their many (probably more than 20?) different donut options down to 4! She suggested the PB&J donut, I was sold on the peanutbutter icing, but the inside jelly was fantastic! The raspberry filled powdered was delightful, the base of the donuts was airy and amazing - I got both a white icing with rainbow sprinkles and a chocolate icing. Nothing was a miss! Seems like I'll be stopping by every time I'm out that way! read more

Love this place. Been going since they were by Security mall. They have a large menu of sandwiches. The pre premade ones can be heated. The Roasted Beef w/ horseradish sauce was so good (also added the chipotle sauce. Pastries are so good. The Strawberry Lemonade was my fave this go round. Staff is super friendly. There is also an area where you can sit and eat. Was so bummed they don't sell the Blondies anymore those were my absolute favorite. Any baked good this is your spot!!! read more

I searched on Yelp for bagels near me and Bakery Express came up as #2 on the list. This is not the place to go for bagels. They were pretty raw and we were just eating dough. Their specialty seems to be cakes and cupcakes and there was a line for doughnuts. I would go back for other bakery items but definitely not bagels. read more

This is a great place to stop by to pick up some cheap baked goods and lunch! They sell 1/2 dozen of donuts for 4.50 (additional 25 cents per any top shelf big donuts) or 1 dozen for 8. What a great deal! They also sell donut holes, discount baked goods (got a bag of 8 large croissants for $4), frozen cakes, and more. A small container of donut holes (it's actually big) comes with blueberry cake and glazed flavor, sells for around $3. I don't normally like cake donuts, but the blueberry cake donut was delicious! The donuts taste yeasted and are large and moist. We tried glazed donut and twist, pink icing, apple fritter, coconut, and M&M. The glazed were great. The pink donut that we thought was strawberry was just pink-colored icing which was very disappointing. Apple fritter had a lovely spice flavor to it but no real apples inside. Coconut was moist and delicious, very well-flavored. M&M was not glazed but had a chocolate dip on it - this was just OK to me. They don't have that many unique or special flavors in my opinion - very standard flavors. They had 2 decorative Holiday donuts that I was excited about, but it turns out they were just plain vanilla flavor with special decoration. It's just good to get some standard flavors on the cheap here. We also ate lunch in the cafe which has dine-in. I got the chipotle beef panini sandwich which was piping hot and came with a pickle. It wasn't my favorite combo of flavors in the end, so I'd probably go for something else next time but the ciabatta bread was delicious. My boyfriend got "The Val" sandwich on a cheddar jalapeno bagel (no extra charge) -- it was HUGE, the bacon was super crispy, and the ingredients tasted fresh. I was jealous and would recommend this sandwich! Service was nice. Lots of parking. Industrial looking exterior and area as this is a corporate building/headquarters. read more

This is such a nice big spot for all your bakery needs. They bake cakes, have plenty of donuts, huge space to sit and eat and also lunch food like sandwiches. They have tons of cakes and desserts readily available for you to purchase and also you can have a sit down with them so they can make you a custom order of cake or other desserts. Service is so friendly, the place is clean, the donuts were delicious and prices were very reasonable. Parking is easy and the place is huge you can't miss it !! read more

Such a wierd location for such delicious donuts. Best value and best donuts in Baltimore area. Sucks it took my close to 2 years to discover the l place. Definitely worth the drive every Sunday. They even serve breakfast and lunch. read more

What a wonderful find! Tucked into an industrial park is a bakery with delicious donuts and pastries and cakes! The selection is quite large and there is even a kitchen for bagels and breakfast sandwiches etc. I ordered a bagel, but the real star here are the pastries. They have a several refrigerators lines up filled with cakes, cupcakes, and other special treats that are ready to take home. I was pleasantly surprised to also find a few sugar free options. The prices were incredible too. My daughter and I got two donuts, bagel and cream cheese and a coffee for less than $5, and the cakes were very reasonably priced as well. Worth the drive through the industrial area! read more

BEST CAKE OR PIE TO PURCHASE FOR SOMEONE ELSE to show them how good this place is? (I usually only buy individual donuts, pretzels, etc for myself & family, want to give a dessert as a gift!)
It depends on what the person likes. My parents favorite is the carrot cake so we get that a lot. Everything is amazing!
Does anyone know the calorie information and how many grams of sugar are in one glazed donut? My job sells them but there's no info on the box. I saw that they are ordered from Bakery Express.
