It took me way too long to finally make it here. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with plenty of seating. It was also very clean. I went on a Wednesday night about an hour before closing. We ordered the Taiwanese popcorn chicken, 1908 tofu, and har gow (shrimp dumplings). I also perused their baked goods. Since it was getting close to closing time a lot of the shelves were empty, but they still had plenty of unique sweet and savory baked goods. Everything looked so pretty. It was hard to choose just one thing. I ended up picking a taro cake roll to go. Everything was so fresh and really tasty. I especially enjoyed the popcorn chicken. This is such a neat place in mills area! So much seating inside. Staff is nice, and there was a good assortment of breads. My favorite is definitely the savory garlic bread. Milk bread also very tasty. I got an iced caramel latte, which was good but the caramel is the thick kind, not syrup and doesn't do well mixing into the drink. Very reminiscent of caramel added to a Dunkin' drink. Also had a milk tea which was in an interesting funky cup. Very nice place would be back to try the dumplings. read more

We loved the food. We stopped by on Sunday morning, and the baked goods were incredible. This is the closest to a Hong Kong bakery that I have ever seen in the States. The Egg Tarts were 100% on target. and the other baked goods were just as good. The prices are a bit high, but this will be a once on a while stop. Had lunch with family here. We have been wanting to try bakery 1908. You can order your items at the kiosk or on the counter and then you grab a number and find a seat. We ordered a few things to share family style. They have a lot of bakery options and some dim sum items. We ordered wonton soup, fried dumplings, bean curd roll, shrimp dumplings and some buns. I love this place! It is very clean and beautiful inside. The parking lot is a bit small and beat up and fills quickly on weekends. The staff is so nice and helpful. They have trays and tongs for selecting whatever pastries you choose to get. Everything I have tried has been so delicious. Even the ones I've taken home and had in the fridge have kept really well. They also have good coffee and comfortable seating. I want to go back and try their dumplings. I highly recommend this place. read more

Stopped by for the first time Sunday around 11 am. It was busy, but there were plenty of places to sit in their large dining areas. They have their own parking lot, which is few and far between for this area of Orlando! When you walk inside, there is a cold case for some cakes, and then you proceed to the left,grab a tray, and pick your own pastries and buns. Then you go to line to pay where you can also order hot foods. The buns and pastries were all good! I do wish there had been more filling in the chicken curry bun. There wasn't much on the inside. The strawberry cream pastry was so tasty! All of the pastries were so good, you really can't go wrong when choosing. So excited to see another Asian bakery open up in the Orlando area. It has a variety of items, including sweet and savory buns, cake rolls and slices, crepe cakes, cheesecakes, and cookies. They also additional hot foods such as dumplings, soup, and milk teas. The service here is pretty quick but sometimes there can be a long line. I recommend getting here earlier if you want more bakery item options to choose from. I have tried the pistachio cookies here and the Shanghai dumplings. I do feel like some of the hot food items are a bit pricey for the quantity. It's also difficult to do takeout as they don't taste as good as they when fresh. The parking is also limited. This place is okay, not sure if I would go back and visit. Upon arrival, there was sufficient parking so that was nice. The bakery section is really nice and clean. However the food was nothing out of the ordinary, but you could tell it was fresh. The bread was very soft. As for the boba, it was extremely sweet, so I thought hmmm let me get some water... don't get the water. pay for the bottle water , but don't get their free water it's horrible. Even my 2 year old spit it out, Orlando tap water is just not good so it's not the bakeries fault but maybe they should use filter water. What can I say? There is so much tissues from here. The food looks absolutely delicious. Most of it was. It was a lot of bread for me. I went all crazy ordered quite a lot, but I shared it with my three children and my mother my personal favorite was the milk bread and the garlic bread. It was very very very clean. You then bus your table when your done. Our order, however, entailed bringing the food out to our table so that was nice. I had to literally run, not walk, to review this place. I had an impulse decision to pull over and pop in for a late morning snack for the fam before the science center. I had no idea what type of place it was but bakery and sweet breads on the sign sounded great. It was such an impulse, I forgot to bring my phone! I was so upset because this place was just, WOW! So clean and orderly. The bread selections were out of this world. All flavors, all unique flavors that you'd like to see in this style bakery (taro, shredded dried pork just to name a few). I've been to Bakery 1908 a couple of times, and each visit has been pretty solid. They've got so many options to choose from, and the place is super cute and clean. It's a great spot to study (if you can find a table). I'm a big fan of their chicken, onion, and cheese pastry--though I wish they'd heat it up for you, but I get why they don't, it'd probably take longer if everyone asked for that. Prices are a bit high, but the quality and unique options make it worth it. It's not mind-blowing, but a really nice spot for a quick bite or to do some work. I wanted to visit a 2nd time before I reviewed. The first time I visited we picked up several delicious pastry goods to take home. All of them are absolutely delicious!! The sweet cream buns are my favorite. We tried one of the several varieties of fruit tea. It was my 1st time having a fruit tea and now I know how sweet they are, but now I know you can ask for 1/2 sugar. On my first visit we had the crispy chicken and it pork buns in soup. The buns in soup was good & filling. I didn't like the thigh meat used for the chicken. Many parts were black and that just didn't appeal to me. Today we had steamed pork buns and honey walnut chicken. The pork buns were smaller than I thought but 5 fills you up. They were delicious and come with a vinegar type sauce for dipping. The tempura batter on the chicken was the best I've had. The sauce was a surprise. It was a creamy honey with a cream sauce that tasted like it had just a hint of a mustard flavor. I have driven by many times and finally we went for a weekday afternoon lunch. Wonderful ambience and good portion sizes. Reminds me of Hong Kong or Taiwanese style cafes which is rare to see here in Orlando. Love that Colonial Drive is starting to have more of these places nowadays. I've been here a couple times now and this place is fantastic. It's very affordable, portion sizes aren't too big and good for a filling snack. Their tofu appetizer is delicious and definitely a must-try. It was cold one day and I ordered the chive dumpling soup and it was perfect for the cold weather. I didn't like the taro dumplings, I wasn't a fan of the texture. The chocolate cheesecake was a standard one. The bbq pork bun and portuguese egg tart were amazing and I would get those again. The service is always good. There's plenty of very nice seating around, but one of the 2-person tables I sat at was very wobbly. Great Asian bakery, great vibes. We ordered ube and vanilla crepe cakes, a Japanese cheesecake, ube milk tea, matcha latte and a coffee. The pastries were light and fluffy, not too sweet, just perfect. We also tried the 2 different types of popcorn chicken. They were both fresh and delicious. We got a free bun with our order and tried the taro donut, which was fluffy and had taro paste inside. We came near closing, so not a huge selection. Made two trips to Bakery 1908 so far and have been delighted both times. Mornings are super busy but service is pretty quick. If you have time, late afternoon a couple hours before close it's much easier to get a parking spot and a table. I appreciate their service model as you go in to grab a tray and clean pair of tongs to choose what all is going home with you. With all of the options it's honestly hard to choose but did find a favorite in one of their cheese pastries. Last time I was there I wanted a new type of coffee and chose the cotton candy latte, A+ for the fun presentation, a bit too much sweet for me but it was photo worthy and the cups they serve the drinks in are a great time. This place is absolutely amazing! Probably one of my favorite new bakeries to have opened in the Orlando area this year! This shop is right off of colonial across from the Dollar Tree. They have their own parking lot which is a win for me already, as I am always worried about dodging oncoming traffic when I street parking on that road! When you walk inside you have the option to order your pastries and food from the kiosk to the left of the check out line or feel free to grab a tray and the wide variety of pastries & buns to grab! To start things off my husband and I grabbed an assortment of pastries and then we agree if we were still hungry we would order dim sum afterwards. I ordered the hot dog bun, garlic roll, ham roll (my favorite of the day), and the honey bbq pork bun. Once we grabbed what we wanted we got in line to check out and ordered green milk tea and the lychee mango fruit tea. Seating in the dining area is first come first serve, so feel free to send someone to grab a spot indoors or outdoors! All of my pastries were so delicious, especially the ham roll! And of course we were still hungry afterwards so I went to the kiosk and ordered the Shanghai dumplings (pork, ginger, broth). By far my favorite item here. Sooo randomly driving down colonial and saw two new boba places and decided I need to try them, one was Bakery 1908. Up one arrival it was a bit late so most of their savory baked goods were finished but there were cookies and cakes. I decided to try their popcorn chicken, milk tea and lychee mango fruit tea adding boba to both drinks. The drinks were delicious and the boba was just rights, not too hard and not too soft and slimy. The chicken was fresh and had great flavor. The service was nice and effective. In the back of the restaurant there is a self service for your utensils and water. A nice touch. This place was hopping when we stopped in on a Sunday around 1 pm. There was a 50-minute wait on the dining side, and there no tables available to sit down. So, we grabbed a tray, put some bakery items on the tray, got in line, paid, and took them home to eat. I'm not sure how often they replace the bakery items, but there were many empty and missing items from the display cases. So, anyway, on the bakery side you grabbed a tray, grab a set of tongs, grab your bakery items, put them on your tray and fall in line to pay under the menu sign where the cashier resides. O evidence of any employees restocking items, being of assistance to answer questions. Compared to any asian bakery I'ved been too this one is different. They have huge selection of savory bread, sweet bread, cakes, drinks like coffee and bubble teas and a lot more. They also serve dimsum which is pretty cool. You get your food + desserts in one place. We tried 2 types of savory cake and one cake. I like that the cake was not too sweet. The bread taste so good and moist. For the drink I got the black sesame bubble tea 50% sugar. Taste so refreshing and it has mochi on it. Interior of this bakery is so cute and relaxing. Tried out with my nieces the new pastry/restaurant this past weekend. Staff or quick and polite. There is seating both indoor and outdoor. The space is moderately sized with mural art along almost every wall. I used to live in California where you can find similar "pick your own" pastry and I thought Bakery 1908 was okay. The fresh baked goods are yummy especially the pork bun, but I didn't care for the prepackaged almond biscotti or red bean paste pastry. Their hot and fresh dumplings though are fantastic. Wow I had never experienced anything like this. As soon as you walk in you feel like you're inside an anime. This Asian bakery offers such a unique experience. The pastries look so pretty and colorful you almost don't want to eat them, but I definitely did. First I had the golden onion floss. It was soft and sweet, but at the same time salty and with a nice bite to it. It was absolutely perfect. Then I had a blueberry cream cheese pastry and the pan-fried pork dumplings. They were both 10/10. I also tried the black sesame milk tea with cheese foam and the caramel latte. They were both yummy, but my personal favorite was the caramel latte because the cheese foam on the milk tea was saltier than I thought. When it comes to the dumplings and the drinks, you could definitely find these items at a lower price in a different restaurant, but not with the same quality. Even though some menu items are on the higher end, I think the prices are fair for the quality. The place is self-service, but the workers were still very nice and friendly. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere. Many people were working on their laptops, while others were simply enjoying a meal with their friends or family.
