Let's talk about their Butter Syrup, Coffee and Homemade Rolls and Butter. It is AMAZING !! I've been a customer here through out the changes and years. The last two times I have received cold food so that during Breakfast. I always order The Hungry Farmer and have noticed the bacon order has decrease and the pancakes seem pre-made now and lukewarm whens served. I keep my review at 4 stars because have been a fan over the years and maybe I caught them on two bad days. read more

The place is nice and so are the employees. We had a bad experience there. My friend ordered breakfast and to our surprise the meal came out in just a few minutes. The eggs that were ordered over medium came out with runny egg whites. My friend info rmed the waitress and she offered to get two new eggs properly cooked. It took about 15 minutes to bring the eggs. My friend was done eating when they finally arrived. My friend said the other food he received was good but not on the verge of not being warm. How could it possibly take 15 minutes or so to get two eggs properly cooked when it only took three or four to get a whole meal. read more

I had the steak and cheese omelette it was cooked to Perfection it was double stuff as much steak that was inside was on top as well the eggs were not overcooked and very fluffy. Hands down the best omelet! The service was Superior! we were told there was a 20-minute wait and we were seated within 3 minutes. Best in town! read more

The food was amazing. We came in to town for a wedding and looked for a breakfast spot and several recommended going here. We got the chicken and waffles French toast and hash brown potatoes. The butter syrup they're known for is also amazing! We had a great waiter also very friendly! read more

Decided to try this place out and everywhere else was too busy. Wait wasn't long but then again we did show up 45 mins before closing. A great selection of breakfast food and other alternative. I order an omelette and a side of French toast. The food took a little longer than I expected, perhaps it was due to closing time coming up and everyone wanted to get out of there. Service was outstanding, so now complaints there. We had to tell our waiter a couple times to bring some items but he was Johnny on the spot with drinks Over all I was very satisfied with the food and service. We Yelped this restaurant and found very good comments suggesting we would be entertained to a superb breakfast. But to the contrary, we had what we consider to be a pedestrian above-average breakfast that really didn't impress. Had breakfast here yesterday. Decided on this place as the reviews indicated it was really the only breakfast place in downtown New Bern to go to. The restaurant was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. They were especially accommodating to my little one. She loved her Mickey Mouse pancake. The adult food was just average, however. My husband ordered the Hungry Farmer and I had the biscuits and gravy. I wasn't impressed with the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits seemed dry and cold. The gravy lacked taste. As for the rest, the bacon on the Hungry Farmer plate was too well done for our taste. The best thing about the meal however, were the Dutch Potatoes. Those were to die for. If we are ever in the area again, I would rather stop in and pick up a cinnamon roll or pecan roll. Those looked amazing! read more

Great place to eat! We came in after the trolley tour & ordered the fried shrimp basket & chicken tenders plate. Both were excellent! I used to eat here a lot prior to 2019 and it was always great. The breakfast I had today was very disappointing. The two eggs looked like one egg. Two small pieces of bacon. The "home fries" were mediocre. They were so uniform in size that they looked to be from frozen. All for $9.99. Very disappointed and won't eat there again. The service was great though. read more

This is our 4th time here... we've tried to give this place 4 different chances to prove us wrong... the first time was the service... it was just subpar, the second and third was both the food and the service... This last time, we ordered the Chicken and Waffles and guess what? The chicken came cold, super bland and tasting like grease, you know when you let fried food sit on a plate for too long? Just like that. We politely told the waitress and she took the plate without apologizing (even though technically it isn't her fault). And that was our last time, unfortunately. Conclusion? BK is overrated and overpriced for the quality of both food and service. Came for breakfast on a busy Saturday. Told 20 minutes but we were sat in 5 minutes. Steak and cheese omelette was perfect. Very tasty and filling. Our waiter was outstanding. Very attentive and personable. Definitely will be returning. read more

Wonderful first time visit. Went with my wife and granddaughter after the hotel suggested it. It was the first really beautiful Saturday of the year and everyone had the same idea we did. So there was a wait. They told us 30 minutes at least and we were seated in about 25 minutes. The staff was very nice and the food was excellent. I had the hungry farmers and wife had the farmers wife breakfast. We both really enjoyed it all. The coffee was nice and strong just like I like it. Very good!! Visiting New Bern for the holiday weekend and this place came highly recommended. There was a longer wait but you have the ability to make a reservation and get a text to inform you that your table is ready so that is a plus. The place is in an older building, quite unique and beautiful. We were promptly greeted by our server who was very polite and patient. I ordered the Baker's breakfast sandwich on rye with Swiss cheese, it was okay but flavorless and the bread but barely toasted. The bottom piece was soggy and falling apart when I picked it up. I did order a single mimosa before ordering food and it was forgotten some where down the line and was only asked after I had already finished my meal. To be clear, I saw servers preparing mimosas so I believed mine was still on the way during this time. I chalk this up to an isolated incident and will definitely be returning to try something else on the menu. read more
