If you value your health and safety, do NOT eat here. It is a statewide mandate to wear a mask in public, restaurants included, and only one out of their seven or so FOH employees was wearing a mask. They weren't practicing social distancing, they were handling food and beverage delivery without any mask or sanitation, and they were focusing on turning tables quickly which left minimal time to actually clean them. If this is how FOH operates, I can't even imagine how it is in the kitchen. They were allowing guests inside the restaurant without masks and the manager was even walking around without a mask, I was speechless. This complete lack of concern and blatant negligence is why people continue to get sick. This was especially disappointing because we were really excited to explore New Bern and this restaurant came highly recommended. The server was kind and the food was good but we were uncomfortable throughout the entire experience. I would strongly recommend people think twice about dining here, for your own safety. read more

I came for brunch with my wife on a Monday morning. We stayed at a hotel near downtown New Bern, so this was within walking distance of us, which worked out perfectly. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and we were seated promptly. I ordered the Hungry Farmer, which included 2 pieces of french toast, 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, and Dutch potatoes. You can choose pancakes instead of french toast, sausage instead of bacon, and home fries instead of Dutch potatoes. But why would you? Just kidding - our waitress convinced me to get the french toast, so I did. Their french toast was excellent - thick cuts of bread with the right amount of cinnamon and powdered sugar. The exterior was still intact and not mushy (like so many french toasts can be), but the inside was still moist and delicious. It came with butter syrup, which was incredibly sweet, but also incredibly tasty. I'd recommend drenching your french toast with it. Or at least dipping a bit of it into the liquid gold. I asked for my eggs cooked over easy, and they were cooked perfectly. The bacon also was excellent - not over-cooked and too crispy, but not under-cooked and too soggy. I want to say there was a hint of sweetness to the bacon, too, but there may have been some cross-contamination from the butter syrup. The Dutch potatoes were like a cheesy hash - it was heavy, but enjoyable; a little on the salty side, though. I also ordered a coffee, which wasn't bad, but didn't amaze me. My wife ordered the Suburban, which came with a biscuit, bacon (or sausage), eggs, and home fries (or Dutch potatoes). Her biscuit was buttery, soft, and pretty spot-on. The home fries were nice and crispy. Our main qualm with our visit here was the service. Initially, our waitress was nice and relatively prompt, but after she took our order, it felt like she disappeared. A couple at a table across from us sat down and ordered well after we did (with a different waiter), and got their food before we did - it looked like the ordered similar dishes. Also, after we finished our meal and were ready for the check, we waited to the point where we had to get up and find another worker there to ask where our waitress went. Again, it was a Monday morning, and the restaurant wasn't packed by any means. Not sure what the hold up was. The restaurant's space and layout was nice - there's plenty of tables and it's overall quite clean. Overall, it was a scrumptious meal. Unfortunately, we had some issues with our service. read more

They have a great location in downtown new Bern near quant shops for walk shop n so days and the staff is super friendly and the food comes out hot and delicious and plentiful!! They have a secret recipe for their " syrup" honey butter maple like that's to die for and they sell out often. But some when you can and put it on everything it is a bit chilly inside so bring a jacket or sweater. French Toast sausage and sausage gravy are some of my favorites! read more

Great breakfast and brunch spot. This is spot is really popular with the locals so make reservations! I typically don't eat breakfast fast but their Belgian waffle was calling my name in my dreams last night. The staff is very attentive literally almost always one point to the T, they're nice and easy to talk to half of the experience here is the staff Food! So I'm not big if breakfast or pastries but when I crave it this is the place I go too the cinnamon bun is so money!! I recommend about two of these sweet monsters per person and as for entrees "the hungry farmer" and "chicken waffles" is the go too. It's in a nice area in downtown new bern parking is kind of difficult so I suggest reservation and online check in while you find your park spot. read more
