Trying to get wasted on meat (at Baker's General Store). Do not recommend. Store is great though.

When you're passing through, don't pass on by! You'll find everything in this General Store - hardware, coffee, alcohol, groceries, homemade pizza, and genuine homemade cookies. The owner has collected the most fabulous recipes over the years. Susie Baker was so awesome to share her chocolate chip cookie recipe and tips with me. After trying the peanut butter cookie... I wish I had asked for that recipe!

This is very cool General Store. They have a couple of gas pumps too, but do go in the store because you won't be disappointed. They have all kinds of baked goods and savory stuff. They also have a small section of hardware and Automotive stuff that you might need for your trip. Everyone here is so nice and helpful including if the owner herself who is willing to explain how she got into the business or any question you may have about her goodies including the recipes...

Baker's is super charming. The employees are super duper nice, the style is retro yet nice and modern, it feels like a small town general store done just right. The gas isn't the cheapest ever, but it's not like there's a lot of selection around here. Plus, you get to have it pumped out of an old school(ish) gas pump, and pay inside - afterward! Perfect throwback to 1995. And, it comes with a FREE coffee or fountain drink. (I got hor chocolate) Inside you'll find a very well stocked store that has just about anything you might need. Lots of automotive parts, food choices, etc. The only thing that's kind of lacking is their beer selection, so I have to assume there's a good beer store nearby somewhere. All in all, just what you'd need and want from this store. They made me feel warm and welcome and belonging, and it's hard to put a price on that!

Worst apple pie I've ever tasted. It was like someone spilled the allspice container in it. Had to throw it out.

If there was a zombie apocalypse, everything you would need for survival is here; including but not limited to, wine and jerky.

Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regularly of this market (specifically for the prepared food area).

I am an astute shopper - I'm expert on using their app, clipping their coupons, reading the ads before I shop, etc., and to boot I worked grocery early in my long career. These were genuine errors. We've had to endure a near year-long revamp of the store, its nearly finished, and I've yet to to see ANYWHERE any improvement in the experience. Its mind boggling how much money they spent to achieve NOTHING. When I was a checker, they came out with the most efficient way to process items; customer puts product on belt, the employee scans it and puts it right in the shopping bag. Boom, handled once! Super efficient! A few years ago some idiot with no clue how checkstands operate came up with the bright idea of having the checker scan it, put it on another belt, where another employee bags it. Handled TWICE. And this store NEVER has 1:1 checker/bagger. Today there were FIVE checkers, and ONE bagger. Fred Meyer continues its increasing abuse of plastic. Too many instances to write here.
