It's a big Freddy's, with plenty of pretty much everything. Forgot sunscreen? They've got it. Want to stock your coastal Airbnb with frozen pizza, snacks, and beer? Yep, they've got that too. And you'll be very glad you stopped here when you see what some of those things cost closer to the beach. The gas station lines can get long, but they tend to move quickly, and the prices are usually great. Plus: BATHROOMS! Woo hoo! This is where literally everyone shops for groceries in the area, locals and tourists alike. It's quite large, with the usual Fred Meyer offerings from home to apparel to food and drink. We stopped by here twice to pick up the fixing for root beer floats and of course browsed around. The prices are reasonable and it's big enough that the ambience is pleasant - you've got space to move around even if it's crowded. They play country music over the speakers. I unfortunately purchased a ring at this store and am now experiencing the worst customer service I have ever seen. I don't live in Oregon so I cannot return the ring. My only option is to send it in. BUT the clerk that helped me check out did not enter my zip code into their system and now I have to wait for the "care" team to enter it so I can send in my ring. "I shop at Nordstroms not Fred Meyers" - Mac Dre. Mac Dre is trippin (RIP) I've never been to a Fred Meyers but good lord!! That store is fire!! I dont see how it can have bad reviews. Thats like a Nugget Grocery store, Target, Best Buy, and a Khols all wrapped into one and it also has a jewelry store that place is insane! Wish We had one of those back home. They had a nice seafood, bakery and deli spot. The service was good the person at the electronics section asked me if I needed some help. The whole place was just chill with the lights not too bright. They had lots of things on sale. They had a spot where they had Levis, dickies and Carnhart. Sucks for them that I dont wear dickies or carnhart. I'm from Northern Cali I stay in nothing but Ben Davis and Levis but they didnt have the size Levis in the color I wanted. I live in Utah where we no longer have Fred Meyers but we did as a child so I was anxious to go inside. It's really busy because it's the only place to get supplies for all of the nearby coastal cities. The prices seemed more expensive than Utah but I hit a great deal on darling Boots! They carry a lot of item that I need. lines are fast and prices a little high and I still order from Amazon and Walmart for dry goods when I don't need right away. The thing that gets me though is the one and only bike rack. They only have room for four bikes and it's full just about every time I get there. I don't know if the employees are using it(seems that way, same two bikes are there a lot), but still they can make room for more bike racks. In that area. read more

It's nice to see this Fred Meyer's still in operation. I've been to this store many times but not for several years. It's like all Fred Meyer's. A little bit of everything. The Oregon Coast is surprisingly not busy for Mothers Day Weekend. So, neither is Fred Meyer's on a Saturday Afternoon. We found everything we were looking for and some gifts for a family member. We even found a few camping items for ourselves. I managed to keep my wallet at bay in the outdoor section. "The Struggle Is Real." My Wife is currently looking for a gift for our niece and some cards for the occasion while I sit on a lovey Grey Finley Chair ($169.00) in the Home Decor Section. Anywho. I am 72. I look 72. But if I want to buy a bottle of wine or a Bic lighter here I have to extract my drivers license from my wallet so the checker can scan it to make sure I am not a 16 year old disguised as a 72 year old. This is our go-to shopping experience when we are in the area. It has everything you need for travelers who forgot things, and everything we need for a week at the rental house. Great produce selection. Butchers were very helpful at the meat case. Others helped us with directions to needed items. A few went out of their way to help us get just the right thing. Finally...The Rock HAS COME BACK...to Tillamook Fred Meyers. You see, The Rock selected a couple of items and moseyed on up to one of the slowest cashiers this side of the Mississippi. But you see, it's not her fault that the jabroni in front of the line decided to write a check BUT IS FUNCTIONALLY ILLITERATE. So The Rock places his two items on the belt and Edna the Cashier scans them little sumbitches on through. BEEP. BEEP. BOOP. What the hell, Enda? The Rock is a customer, not R2-D2. While just getting gas the attendant came up and said it's self serve. I said oh okay? I not sure how to pump gas as it's Oregon, but was confused as he just got done helping the women behind me. I asked does that apply to all or just some customers? He said she was disabled but I don't know how he could tell that by just looking at her. Nor did she have a disability tag in her window, so I was a little confused.. He said your not disabled, I said no but that's something you shouldn't assume by just looking at someone. As I got out of my car he proceeds to go over to the other attendants and was mocking the conversation we had. My husband and I moved here to Tillamook a week or so ago...we are both on disability and do not make a lot of money. My husband finds himself with no insurance and is waiting on the VA to kick in. YES HE IS A VETERAN...however due to medical needs and my co-pays and some groceries we have spent over 2000 dollars in that store in 4 days. We tried to get the card at service counter to start getting points but was told it was to many and they were not allowed to do that many... have us a number... wrong number...sent another person, sorry we can't help you , you will have to call back in 24 to 48hrs because I cannot see the receipt. So we have incurred more so again I called and got the run around, got hung up on when I asked for a manager. Called cooperate...got no where...only got 500 out of 2030.00...not happy I have all the receipts with numbers etc... read more

The most useful store in tillamook! Especially if you're camping in the area. They have gas, groceries, homes essentials and more. All the workers have been extremely helpful and the store always looks clean. The only downside is parking, which can be hard to find in the busier seasons. And much like the stops in Portland and Hillsboro, Fred didn't exactly give us exactly what we wanted, but we were happy in a round about sort of way. We needed cash - but the cash machine at Fred's wanted $3 dollars for the transaction. Hummmph. So I walked out with $40 in 5s, and the most succulent $3.00 watermelon I have ever tasted. Maybe it's because you Oregonians have so much rain you need to hurry up and just git 'er done. But I love an uber one-stop store. The choices. The variety. Everything from pharmaceuticals, to furniture, to clothing, to massive grocery options. Wow. I can go in, shop like a mad woman, load up the car, and I'm done! Oh yeah. Got Karened. My family came here to get our shellfish license. It was my two younger brothers and I. One of my brothers went to the restroom while my other brother and I waited in the customer service line. My brother who was in line with me bought his own license. I told my other brother to just come up to the customer service register with me and I'll purchase both of our licenses together in one transaction. There was a crazy old white lady behind us that flipped out and said "are you really going to have him cut me in line." I was like what is she talking about "cutting the line." I'm making two purchases in one transaction. Well she went crazy, walked out of the line and left to another part of the store. She later came back, got in our faces, coughed, and called us rude. She then went and grabbed another Fred Meyer associate who agreed with this crazy lady that we had to wait in line I. Front of her and behind her to make two individual purchases instead of one purchase. How does that make any sense? So if I buy something for my brother I have to wait in line after another customer even if I am in front of that customer in line and make two different purchase transactions in two different parts in the line? Fred Meyer get your act together. The young lady who did help us was very polite, nice, and wished us a better day, but the other old lady Fred Meyer associate is crazy just like the crazy old white lady customer. BTW I'm Asian and all the other people at Fred Meyer are white. There was even an old white guy behind who did not make a crazy deal out of this. I do not think these people being white are the reason for these crazy old ladies. Not only did Fred Meyer agree with this crazy Karen, but you also allowed another customer to step in my face breaking covid-19 6 feet distancing rules and cough in my face with no repercussions to that crazy Karen customer. My cousin and I were in the other day and seriously felt like we fell into the 60's. My cousin is hispanic and was racially profiled and harassed by one of the employees because he was trying to buy spray paint for a project. Initially he was refused service and even was asked for his receipt after making his purchase in self checkout. This is absolutely unacceptable not only due to the fact that it is the 21st century but also given the social climate. We are a small town with only 2 grocery stores. Fred Myers believes that they are the only store to shop at, installing mostly self check out stands. Raising the prices, and now found out this morning that they're charging 50 cents to run a debit card under $100 and $3 over a $100 . This store has lost our business. I really dislike shopping. Grocery. Hardware. Lawn & Garden. Dry goods. Drug store type stuff. All of it. It's the travel. For us, it's either a 35 minute drive south to Newport (Fred Meyer, J.C. Market), a 50 minute drive NE to McMinnville (Roth's), a 65 minute drive E to Salem, or a 55 minute drive N to Tillamook (Fred Meyer.) Or the long 2hr+ drive to Portland.... As a result, I do a lot of shopping online. As much as possible. But lettuce and Greek yogurt don't do well with the USPS or FedEx. What makes the difference in determining where we travel to shop? 4 things: 1. The quality of the meat, dairy, and produce at a given market. (the non-shipables) and the overall variety available. Choices are important. 2. Customer service and the cleanliness of stores 3. Price. (Though, once you've committed to paying for the gas to get there, a few pennies one way or the other is not the deciding vote) 4. *and this is key* -- what else is there in the area that makes the trip worthwhile -- and lets us get other errands (or fun activities) accomplished at the same time. The Tillamook Freddy's is big (B-I-G so wear your comfortable shoes) -- with good selection; and meat, dairy, and produce I can live with. I'd like the selection to include more high quality brands and less of the cheap-o Kroger store brands -- but there's no fighting the lowest common denominator policies. The store is clean and comfortable (though the parking lot is a bit of a circus) -- and we've usually found everything we were looking for. Price compares with Freddy's in Salem and Newport, and the people we've interacted with have been polite, professional, friendly, and helpful. And the drive to Tillamook is beautiful; we love stopping at the farm stands we've traded with over the years. Smokehouses. Cheese/dairy factories. Our favorite taco truck is right on the highway, just a mile south of Fred Meyer -- so a good excuse to stop for a snack. Quilting specialty shops (more than one -- quilting appears to be a big deal here.) We end up in this Tillamook Freddy's every few weeks. Excellent market if you're up for a hike. read more

I am embarrassed to admit that I didn't know there was a Fred Meyer my first time in Tillamook and I went to Safeway instead. Freddy's is cheaper and faster than the competition, so if there's something I left at home I know I can grab it here and throw it on ice until I get back to the campsite. One summer I kept forgetting mustard until I had at least 3 bottles in my fridge at home. If you're heading into town from the Wilson River Highway, take a right onto Highway 101 and pick up everything you will ever need for a weekend camping trip. I'm serious, this Fred Meyer has every department - not like Portland stores, where the apparel section ends and begins with bags of tube socks. The cashier's at this store are helpful and friendly. I've had to get a price adjustment and it was easy to take care of at the Customer Service area. The bathrooms don't smell any better than the cows and one time I cut my leg on the metal that is coming off the bottom of the stall door. I don't think this is anything new if you have ever used a Fred Meyer restroom. The Fuel Center earns this location a bonus star, but since this is the cheapest gas in town you are going to have to wait. Use your rewards card and save an extra $0.03... which I have come to realize really could only mean saving $0.50 at the very most. Oh well. I know that camping is supposed to be a time to get away from it all, but sometimes I need my Organic Valley half 'n half and a 12-pack of Sessions Black. Oh and sometimes you forget to pack a jacket and pajama pants. Fine, maybe you also forget the air mattress. This is where I come for all of those things. read more

I prefer this location to our Warrenton location hands down. Store is better lit, organized, clean, and even seems to have better sale prices on some items. Things that were 50% off in Warrenton, were 60% off here in the same week. More floor space and more of a selection of clothing is always a nice thing when coupled with a good sale. Shoe prices left a lot to be desired even on clearance. Fred's still has it's "make you work for it" type sales where you combine sale prices with in-store coupons, and these can be deceiving. The customer has to do a lot of fine print reading to maximize the savings. All shopping seems to be doing this as of late, especially in grocery where one has to use club cards, etc. to get "savings" that really aren't that great. Book department is double the size as Warrenton's as well. Many more children's options. Friendly staff as well. Nice store. read more
