Great shopping experience @ Safeway in Tillamook, OR. !! Friendly service and delicious drinks at their in-store Starbucks. We were lucky to find Christmas Blend whole beans in February as well! We requested them to be ground and the Employee happily obliged. This Safeway store was very clean, organized, and well-stocked. As you can see in pictures, we were impressed with their bacon selection, lol. I always try to buy local, so that's a plus. I also love their closed refrigeration aisles with glass doors, compared to open refrigeration. Consistent and efficient temperature control is key. read more

I live in Tillamook... this store gives you the down home feeling... people are friendly and the staff is helpful and polite... always greeting you with a a smile.... Their deli food is good and can't get enough of their pre-made dishes.. easy place to shop... unlike a Fred myers grocery section that just doesn't feel inviting I am tired of the tourism here it's messen uo the town and we need to rebel!!!! read more

Went here to grab some provisions for camping and the food was okay to get us by. The ambiance is the typical Safeway but it was less offensive here for some reason. Probably because everyone was very in and out of the store - unlike us since we had to walk around the store and didn't know where anything was due to how it's laid out (they do that on purpose). The self-check out tills were also annoying and every family there, including mine, kept having to go "Wait!" "Don't touch it!" because of how faulty they are. They had most of what I needed but my heart went out to that super long line of people in line for the pharmacy - many of whom were elders. read more

At this location the floors are dirty, you have to have a code to use the bathroom in the back of the store and you have to get the code from Customer Service in the front of the store. The employees don't really seem to care of service or the customers. The employees seem like they don't have enough help at all. Waited 30 minutes for my coffee at Starbucks (in store). I would definitely avoid this location. read more

Of several grocery stores between Newport and Tillamook, this Safeway had the items that we needed for my father-in-law's casserole dinner on 7/11/19. Called ahead... very nice on phone and quick to check on the items. Mostly clean store and parking lot. The lines are somewhat long and slow, but then again this place was surprisingly busy when we were here. Redbox available. One-way streets in the area. read more

where oh where does one begin. my huge issue is that they've stopped carrying a LOT of my regular items, they're more focused on their cheap store brand than anything. and how about their max cash withdrawal of $60 at the self scans, huh? when did THAT become a thing? it's a good thing Fred Meyer bought Safeway. maybe this store will close and reopen as a smaller Fred Meyer grocery store. or maybe a mini home electronics, apparel and garden section. without the bullish*t cash back limit. read more

They are always friendly in Tillamook and the Safeway is no exception. We always stop for chicken strips - don't ask why - its just what we do. But, I warn you, yellow jackets LOVE chicken strips, too. Good thing they are not buzzing around in the winter as we were just there....and had fabulous chicken strips. The deli folks asked me if I wanted to wait while they checked on what was cooking up fresh, the lady who rung us up was very personable and explained to me why the Yelp address was wrong. They USED to be on the main drag up north of town. Now they are in the middle of town by the library. We go camping out this way our share and almost always stop at this Safeway. And that is saying a lot. Where "I come from"? Safeway is not someplace I go....but, these guys are awesome. read more

My usual grocers, but only because there's not much choice! Absolutely must have "club card", even with it prices can be quite high. And look over your receipt carefully! The store itself isn't dirty, just dingy and doesn't look clean! One of my biggest pet peeves is so very apparent here: Items marked way way up, put on clearance rack (in back by restrooms) and then "discounted". For example, a packet of gravy mix. I know they're usually around $1, maybe $1.50 Saw one on clearance, marked $3.75/50% off (so clearance price is $1.90, higher than regular!!) Shelf marking is odd, no rhyme or reason to aisles. Most staff very friendly and helpful. Parking is a mess!!! read more

I would rate in the negative if possibe! I've rated before and it does absolutely NO good. Yeah, they will respond, but thats where it seems to end. My complaint is the same as it was before. Your shelves are a mess! You apparently dont have the intelligence to order even a little more of the product that is going on ssale. The absolute worst "grocery store" I've ever visited. I've never had a call back from any Safeway employee after what appears to be a generic response. Never even heard of "Dawn". Anyway, your employees are always itching to leave at the end of their shift! NO help what so ever after 6. I'm no longer going to shop Tillamook Safeway. A shame too since they are less than a mile from me. I will spend the extra time to shop Fred Meyer. At least they stock their shelves. Nothing worse than a store being out of milk!! Figure it out! You constantly are out of a major percentage of the items that go on sale within a day or two. Maybe you should allow rainchecks on ANY item in the store that you are out of! YOU SUCK!! read more

Since the new pharmacist started I have had nothing but problems getting my prescriptions.

This is one of our frequent stops when we are visiting Tillamook, Oregon. This is a full sized Safeway with a deli, pharmacy and similar to the ones you'll find in the big city. The parking lot is big and we can always easily find a parking spot. The store as is well maintained and clean. It has a new store feel to it. The deli serves the normal items you'd find fried chicken, jojos, sandwiches and Chinese food. The food decent and reasonably priced. There is also a Starbucks located in the store, another bonus. We like coming here for the friendly staff and deli items. read more

This is a brand new Safeway! And you can tell. When we went on our little "Paper Chase" study trip, we went to this safeway to get food so that we could lock ourselves in the house and study. This safeway was HUGE! Honestly, the biggest one I have ever been too. It was packed, there were so many people there. I am going to guess it was because the "Civil War Game" [Oregon v. Oregon St.] was on that night. I guess a Safeway is a Safeway, and this one is just fine. read more

Chicken strips and coffee. That is what I stop here for on my way to Cape Lookout State park. Ya, there are other coffee houses in Tillamook and I've been to them, but they don't have chicken strips. Now don't get the chicken tenders because you can get that crap from McDonalds. But the chicken strips, oh ya. Ironically, you can purchase your coffee and chicken strips from the Starbucks coffee kiosk in Safeway. Who would have thought. The staff is always friendly here. Always helpful. Even put up with me babbling at them while buying my stuff. When in Tillamook, stop by the cheese factories and Safeway. read more

Nice size parking lot, full deli, bakery, and Starbucks. It has everything you need whether you're running in and out (like my case) or going for a full week of groceries. Nothing fantastic -- it was clean, friendly service. The bakery lady was kind enough to give our son a child cookie and we found everything we needed. I miss shopping at Safeway...In particular I miss both their deli counter, which has killer chicken strips and their soups, especially the jambalaya...so far nothing has come close at any of the stores in Omaha...this Safeway in particular I like because it's always very clean and reasonably priced...the one downside, is that much like every other Safeway they never have enough lines open so when it gets busy it can take forever to check out... read more

This place was great when it first opened, and great whenever corporate is down for an audit. 7 checkstands available, but only ever 2 or 3 open when. Shopped there today and counted 18 people waiting, 2 registers open. They can't say they're shorthanded because there are always 2 or 3 employees standing in a random aisle gossiping rather than helping. Good prices, but extremely terrible service. A U-scan would be an incredible improvement over what is going on now. read more

I'm giving this store two stars. The only reason it gets that many is the convenient location. The store has a confusing layout. It takes me forever to find what I'm looking for because nothing is on the aisle you think it should be. Many of the staff have bad attitudes, some are helpful and cheerful while others have a consistent scowl. There is never enough cashiers and the check out lines take forever but I find I will go to the longest checkout line if it means avoiding the negative staff in favor of the positive ones. The prices are high but what can you expect from safeway. The produce is usually not that great. It doesn't seem very fresh sometimes. The bakery is good but if you want to order something from them be prepared to wait a long time to get noticed by staff. The deli also takes a long time to be served and the food there is not worth the wait or price. All in all I will usually drive several miles down the road to the Fred Meyer store, it takes longer in driving but I know I can find what I want when I get there and I usually don't have to deal with people who make it a point to be rude while at work. read more

Unfortunately the girl at the deli said they were out of bread as I was walking around another employee that was stocking prepackaged sandwiches asked if I needed anything and she offered to make a sandwhich for me using bread from the store. We were really impressed with the assistance at the pharmacy. We needed to get a prescription filled from an out of state physician and insurance provider. A local pharmacy could not figure out how to obtain approval from the insurance provider so gave up. We went to Safeway and the tech called the insurance provider to figure out how to obtain approval. It didn't take that long to do and after the approval, the prescription was filled promptly. Couldn't have asked for any better service. And to think they did that for a visitor and not a local who would be returning to the store often! read more

My wife and I moved to Netarts last January and we've traded off shopping at Fred Meyers and Safeway for the last 10 months. I've always been a big Safeway fan and it's also the most convenient store to our home. Almost immediately, I noticed that even when shopping at normally slow times and the parking lot being nearly empty, there might be only one checker or sometimes two. I can't think of a time when I've had a line of less than three people ahead of me. Normally it's 5 or 6. I also noticed an earlier review mentioning how slow the checkers often are when checking out "locals". I hadn't thought about that until reading it. They're 100% correct, they spend way too much time chatting and taking their time in doing their job. Fred Meyer isn't nearly as convenient, but even when their parking lot is packed full, it's rare when I have to wait in line at all. On top of that, the checkers are normally very friendly and nice. It took me 10 months to finally realize its worth my trouble to drive a few miles out of the way for better service. It's faster in the long run. read more

She was very well knowledgeable, and quick to aid in questions and hands on help to help Build my bouquet and carry my purchases to my vehicle. I previously had went to Fred Meyers but they didn't have much of a variety to choose from in the floral department. she provided the information about the floral department compared to Fred Meyer. Needless to say. I wont be going back to Fred Meyers, and I am totally sold on coming back to Safeway! read more
