Additionally, they had various spices, dried chiles, canned goods, tortillas, hot sauces......and Tillamook Ice Cream!!! They even have 40-lb bags of Lazzari mesquite lump charcoal!!! (the best for searing your grilled steaks) quick note: everyone, including customers and employees were courteous, observing safe distancing, and wearing face masks. The Cannon Beach Farmers Market is only open on Tuesday afternoons from 1-5pm…read moreand I just happened to be there when it was in full swing - lots of variety in vendors, some food trucks, delicious fruit stalls, and awesome live music! A great time! The market takes up most of the midtown parking lot on Gower St and only runs from June through September. I grabbed a small carton of Oregon cherries and they were so fresh and flavorful. I also grabbed some lunch at the Roast Town BBQ tent and they had the BEST crab cakes I've ever had! I also had a shrimp roll which was delicious. Live music was being performed by the Bar K Buckeroos and really set a fun, western-swing type vibe - they drew quite a crowd as well. Overall the market was jovial and everyone was friendly and having a great time. Some vendors take credit card, some cash only so plan ahead. Parking in Cannon Beach is limited as it is, and since this market is in one of the main public lots the parking situation is even more challenging - but the town is very walkable with several other public lots within walking distance. I enjoyed my visit and feel lucky I got to check out this great local market!

Also ordered a pork tamale from a neighboring stand and gobbled that up just in time for our crab cakes to be ready, literally hot off the grill. Also good: I liked the "bog bites" cranberry stand fun folks and yeah we got some for us and some for gifts! and the several local spirits stands, thanks for the tastes and I hope someday to be able to see your product in California! The less good: I can see why this is called a Sunday Market and not a Farmer's Market. I have to say I was hoping to see and eat more fresh fruit, here at the peak of summer. I think only two stands in the market had fruit, which was sort of a bummer. But overall, a great reason to bend our travel through Astoria, on the way back to Portland from Cannon Beach!

The walk-in beer cooler is accessible from both sides of the store and the selection of beer, cider, and wine was extraordinary! They had a variety of local and non-local, and all price points so you definitely have options depending on your mood. There were a ton of produce and fresh food options that I saw as well, even though we didn't purchase anything from those. I never caught the cashier's name, but she was a shorter, dark haired lady and was so so nice! She talked to me about my wine option and reassured my choice was a good one! I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.
