This place was amazing! We are on vacation & the boys wanted donuts so I went on Yelp to find a place and the "backers dozen" was calling our name & so glad we went!! The staff was fantastic, I asked if they had any more of a few donuts I didn't see up there and she said we can make you some right now!! I was blown away by that!! The donuts were to die for!! They were HOT and just melted in your mouth! There was plenty of parking which I worry about going to places here in New Orleans! Defiantly will be returning!! read more

Really great donuts. So much better than the chains on Veterans. The glazed is light and not overtly dense with the right amount of glaze. I tried to eat just one and had to order a second, they were that good. Plus, they plan a lot of fun special events that the kids can enjoy. My son had a blast at their Superhero Donut Day. The one place for real improvement is coffee. The coffee is more like something you'd get at an old donut shop in the past, not high quality like you expect these days. Adding a real espresso machine for lattes, etc. would also be welcome over the gas station style cappuccino machine. Bring the coffee up to the level of the donuts and it is an easy 5 stars!! read more

This is my favorite/go to donut shop in NOLA. It has earned that distinction for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, I LOVE their donut. Donuts a little bit of a personal preference and for me this is perfection. Just enough lightless, but still feels like a substantial pastry. It has good flavor and their toppings are sweet without killing you with the sugar blast. Also, they are never greasy. I love their ongoing decoration specials and they way they cater to kids. My kids get really excited when they have a favorite character on their donut. The real standout here is service. It's always friendly and efficient when you go in. They are always there to make their customers happy. Once my child woke up on their birthday with a special character request for donuts. I called that morning just to see if it was possible. They made it happen and 15 min later I was walking out with Minnie Mouse Birthday donuts. That sort of customer service is priceless and keeps our family coming back. read more

This morning I received poor service. I came in and ordered two dozen donuts for my campus. The counter person (blonde Hair, tall lady) was passive aggressively rude and I started to not spend my money here. After she asked what I wanted, i almost felt like she was avoiding eye contact with me. She asked my name and scanned my white jacket to avoid me speaking to her again. She rudely snatched my credit card and when she noticed my body language, she apologized. I stepped back and waited on my order. I get it, it's busy. The other staff members were engulfed with a situation about another customer and her needing the police called and you all refusing to call them for her. Then I didn't receive my "bakers dozen" that went with my order. But other customers did. After everything, I was totally over your establishment and wanted a refund. But I promised my students donuts and orange juice. And an attitude from someone that didn't want to serve me was not going to make me break my promise. No matter the circumstances, every customer wants to feel acknowledged. Especially when it comes to food service and I did not feel that way with you all today. And that sucks!!! So fix that for your regular and new customers. read more

thought a dollar a donut was a little high but you can't beat their hot glazed. melt in your mouth good! glad i picked up 6 (for $5.75) because i ended up eating 2 in the parking lot. mmm. those suckers are good. they would definitely give blue dots a run for their money as the best doughnuts in new orleans. luckily, bakers dozen is in jefferson so blue dots would still own the title in new orleans. but if it was in a new orleans proper, blue dots would have to step aside. i have been purposely driving on jefferson in the hopes that their light would light up again. i've been dreaming of those sweet fried pillows they called their glazed doughnuts. still...taking away a star because $1/donut is too high and because they don't have hot glazed all the time. and i haven't been able to figure out their hours. sometimes, i head over at 2 p.m, they're closed; sometimes, they're open. but never with hot glazed. *single tear slowly falls down cheek* read more

I have been to Bakers Dozen at least 100 times and I order the same thing( 60 donut holes, dozen glaze and a dozen filled) every time and they look at me like its the first time that I have ever been there. They are not rude but they are not friendly either. It is always odd to me and I will not be going back there. Its kind of like how you get treated at WalMart. read more

love this place - I'm from Houston so not much can compare to Shipleys,... but.. this place gives them a solid run for their money - stopped here to grab some treats for the office.. it was FAR out of our way considering we were coming from Mandeville and heading to Vets, passed up the office because the reviews here were soooo good.. I check yelp no matter what city I'm in to find the best and Yelp didn't let me down - got three dozen glazed, still warm and melt in your mouth, then.. the bakers dozen stepped up and said, 'you get a free one for each dozen' well.. I don't mind if I dooo... grabbed a jelly, boston crème, and chocolate covered... ate those on the way to the office and shared the rest with the team. Yelp, you lied to me. My children are gluten free. You said this place had options. They do not. As we walked in, mouths watering and asked for the gluten free options we were informed very graciously that there were none. No fault of this fine establishment. Their donuts looked delicious. Unfortunately I had to drag my starving children back out of the shop in fear that the gluten would attach itself to them and make them sicker than my dog who drinks antifreeze. I was actually very disappointed arriving with a 1 1/2 year old with all bar style chairs and they don't have any seating for smaller children. It made our experience less than pleasurable. I won't be there for a few years which is sad and not a reason to not given someone business. There are many more toddler friendly donut places where parents and children can both enjoy. Unfortunately I can't comment on tje donuts as trying to get my child from falling 5 feet in a high bar chair I never ate a thing as I required 2 hands on my child for his safety. read more

This Place BLOWS Krusty Kreme (I mean krispy kreme) away! Better donuts with no all-day aftertaste and much better prices and superfast customer service! The variety of donuts is wild too. I had my first experience here at Baker's Dozen this morning with two little ones. Not only were the girls there super nice, I really think I had the best donut ever. The little ones got a sprinkle and glazed, and I got a Boston Cream. The selection was smaller since they were closing in about an hour but it really didn't matter. Baker's Dozen "Glaze" donuts are very good- better than Shipley's on Metairie Rd. However, Baker's Dozen menu selection (menu) is pale in comparison to Shipley's. The variety of filled donuts at Shipley's is absolutely delicious and amazing. After just one mouth watering donut from Shipley's, you will forget about the 13th free donut. read more

The donuts are good, but the service was terrible. I'd only been once before, and I didn't have any issues that time. However, I will not be returning. The woman at the counter called for the next customer, there was a guy standing in front of me so I didn't move. He apologized, said he had already ordered and moved out of my way. The woman at the counter helped a woman standing behind me instead. Then she helped another man who was also physically standing behind me. I was up at the front counter, there was no way to miss me and no one in front of me. I'd clearly been there longer. The second time, my body language made it clear that I was frustrated having been passed up twice by people who came in after me.
