I'm not throwing this around lightly: this is hands down the best glazed donut in the New Orleans metro. Maybe all of America. I'm willing to defend that opinion. They're soft and airy in the middle, with that sugary crisp shell on the outside. They're always hot, and somehow they melt into this buttery, sweet perfection as you chew. It's the kind of donut that makes you sit in your car for a minute after the first bite just to appreciate what just happened, and you might just eat two before leaving the parking lot. I've had plenty of their other donuts, and they're all good. But nothing, and I mean nothing, touches the classic hot glazed. Be prepared for a line. Then forget about the line the second you take your first bite. It's worth every minute. If you're from Orleans Parish, let me save you the debate. Cross the parish line. Your diet can be mad at you tomorrow.

The shop is spacious and well-appointed. It feels modern and inviting, with lots of space and a gorgeous display of their products, which range from traditional cake doughnuts to some beautiful brightly-iced options to some fancy ones that include Oreo crumbles or mini marshmallows. There are plenty of options, even for the pickiest palate. The apple fritter is just perfect. Light, crispy, fluffy, cinnamony, not too sweet, just the right amount of apple. Divine. The people working here are just lovely, too. Very kind and friendly, prompt, and generous. We were gifted a few extra doughnut holes since we stopped in very close to the end of the day (oops!) This is a great addition to River Ridge and I hope the regional doughnut lovers - I know you're out there! - stop by soon to give them a try.

The beef and shrimp yakamein was $14,99, but only came with 4 small pieces of beef and one shrimp. When I asked the lady at the front desk, she said that they are pre-filled and always had plenty of meat. That was unfortunately not the case for me. It also only came with half of an egg and not a whole egg, which kind of surprised me. I was so excited to visit, but left highly disappointed in the quality of food during my experience. I do want to give them another chance during the week, but I'm not sure it's worth the drive. My total came to around $20 for the yakamein and donut and there is ample free parking. The lady at the register was nice, however I wish she offered a solution on me being shorted on meat.

So we ended up throwing 80% of them out. Seriously the second worst donuts I've ever had (the other was a place called 5 sisters). The burger was a lot of flavors - not always in a good way...it was just like taking 17 things and smashing them together in a burger and the burger itself was MASSIVELY overcooked...it was 5 minutes past any pink left and just short of a hockey puck. The chicken sandwich was fine, again...lots of flavors, but not any consistent flavor in a way that made sense or was really good just more different flavors. The waffle fries with cheese were deconstructed and there was some bbq sauce that I still don't know what it was supposed to go on (that being said it was the best thing I got). And the meal was $70?!?!?!? Yikes. Hard pass on this place.
