I don't go to Jefferson Parish often. But nine times out of ten, it's because I want Baker's Dozen fresh, hot glazed donuts. I'm not throwing this around lightly: this is hands down the best glazed donut in the New Orleans metro. Maybe all of America. I'm willing to defend that opinion. They're soft and airy in the middle, with that sugary crisp shell on the outside. They're always hot, and somehow they melt into this buttery, sweet perfection as you chew. It's the kind of donut that makes you sit in your car for a minute after the first bite just to appreciate what just happened, and you might just eat two before leaving the parking lot. I've had plenty of their other donuts, and they're all good. But nothing, and I mean nothing, touches the classic hot glazed. Be prepared for a line. 10 out of 10. No notes. The best glazed donuts I've had in this city. That means a lot considering I hail from HTown and the home of Shipley's. The fresh glazed was hot enough to satisfy but had cooled long enough for the glaze to really Tati k to the bread. My son had the red glazed Christmas donut and it came with a cute little candy cane ring as a souvenir. The parking lot was packed at around 8:20a and a lot of the specialty donuts had already been purchased but the workers were quick and efficient. I arrived here at 7:20am and to my surprise it wasn't busy at. I went in expecting great service however, I did not receive it. Instead I was met with attitude and horrible customer service. I lady at the counter didn't greet me happily like she did guest before me. In addition to, not wanting to give me a bag for the dozen donuts that I purchased. Also, I believe I was supposed to to receive a free donut with the dozen that I purchased. I guess that's not something that I was allowed to receive along with good customer service. It's easy to see why this place has been around for so long. Bakers Dozen has so many cute and creative donuts but I'll only order two when I come here because they're just that good. The Apple Crumble and the Apple Cinnamon are life. I can't decide which one I enjoy more, the crumble of Apple Crumble or the cinnamon sugary goodness of the Apple Cinnamon. Luckily I don't have to choose and just get half and half. Both are filled with warm and delicious apple filling and taste like the best apple pie you've ever had in your life but in donut form. They are little pillows of heaven. Normally I'm not a donut person, especially at breakfast. Don't get me wrong, they're good and everything but for breakfast I want savory, not sweet. When you purchase a dozen donuts you get 13 donuts instead of 12. I order a assorted dozen of donuts. Chocolate Donut Twist, Vanilla Donut Twist, Buttermilk Drop Holes, Apple Fiddle and a Honey Bun. I selected the Apple Crumble as my free donut. The Buttermilk Drop Holes are delicious. The donut Twist have the perfect crisp and soft center. The donut fillings are delicious OMG! I'm more of a Krispy Kreme kind of gal but I've been passing up this place every morning to work and finally decided to stop by. They open from 7am till 11am so usually I'm rushing to work and never had the chance to stop by. I've been back at least three or four times so far. Their glazed donuts are so freaking addictive. It's usually a five minute wait if you want glazed but the wait is so worth it. It just melts in your mouth. They also have bunch of different filling donuts and donuts hole to purchase. When you order glaze it may take a minute but that's only because they are bringing them straight from the back area so they will be super fresh and still hot.
