WOW! Great donuts, incredibly friendly and efficient staff. Let's talk about lagniappe, they deliver on the original meaning to the phrase "Bakers Dozen", buy a dozen and get an extra & fresh tasty delight of your choice, the13th donut is on the house. My personal favorite, the Blueberry Crumb and that was recommended by the kind young lady that assisted me. If she had not guided me in that direction I may have not been so fortunate to experience what may possibly be the best donut I've ever had, now that is lagniappe! Thank y'all so much for making me feel like the only customer in your store, all the while you were so busy treating everyone else in your business like they were only customer in the store. read more

Bakers Dozen is a solid old school donut shop. It's been in operation in the location since 1993 but the location has been a donut shop most of my life. The donuts are always fresh and nice and yeasty. If the donuts are iced, they aren't usually glazed which I appreciate. Love their fun flavors and that they give back to the community. Their donut holes are completely addictive and if near me will be ravenously consumed in the style of cookie monster. Even when the shop is busy the staff is on the hustle to get everyone moving. Delish! read more

Every week at my school, I do a food ABCs with my kindergarten class. Last week was the letter D, and since it was the week before Christmas break I decided we could have a sweet treat instead of our usual healthy choices. I of course immediately thought of donuts and saw that bakers dozen was on the way to the school I work at. I stopped in and was greeted with a strong whiff of sugary donut goodness. I ordered two dozen glazed, and they must have a special (one free donut per dozen) so they gave me two free additional donuts of my choice. Since they were for my students, I decided to stick with glazed and not go crazy (five year olds can be quite picky!). When they gave me the boxes, they were steaming hot so I knew the donuts must've just been made which made my drive to work all the more difficult. Do you know how incredibly hard it is to sit in a car with two dozen freshly baked donuts next to you without taking a bite of one? I don't think my car has ever smelled that good ever. Ever. So once I brought the donuts to school and gave them to my students, there were enough left over to share with some teachers so I split one with my coworker and it honestly might have been one of the best glazed donuts I've had in my entire life. Like, if I could eat an entire box without gaining any weight I would eat the entire box within a matter seconds. That good. And obviously my students loved them as well! So long story short, you should go here for some delicious piping hot glazed donuts! read more

It's true! These donuts are soft, fresh, not too yeasty, and addicting! When I got in there was a line of 3 ahead and more ladies joined to help out - friendly and efficient! Didn't want to be greedy so I got the King Cake donut and a dozen holes. Love the bags so cute! Couldn't resist while driving and I snuck in a hole. Whoa so light, fluffy, cute, and a pretty good amount of just right sweetness. The glaze isn't too sugary where it may fall out in clumps but small flakes. King Cake donut was great! Original dipped in glaze and with the tradition colored sugars. It was light and airy and just NOM NOM NOM. Definitely a treat while I'm home for a few days from California - getting home feeling with deliciousness without wasting an entire king cake purchase. Not sure if it's possible to do a cinnamony magic spell to the KCD but if BD can you got a winner where it is definitely like King cake! Will be back for whatever duration I'm in town - cannot wait! read more

Bakers Dozen - Wow! What a delightful treat! Thanks BD - you've given me a warm feeling of home. - Donuts Near Me - Jefferson, Louisiana

This past Sunday my friend and I went on a hunt to find New Orleans' best glazed donut. We went to Bakers Dozen, Blue Dot, Shipley's, Tastee, On Faith, City Donuts, District, Buttermilk, and Terrytown Cafe. Of all of these donut shops, Bakers Dozen won out (Terrytown came in second). So with that being said, I can speak on behalf of Baker's Dozen's glazed donut - it has a perfect consistency, great glaze, you could taste the perfect amount of yeasty-ness. I will go back for this donut again and again and again. I'm excited to head back to try some of their other countless donut varieties (plus the donut holes, which are also dangerous to me because I know I could eat 50+). read more

Best donuts around!! I'm convinced they have no competition, because I can't seem find anything better! Solid donuts here! I ordered the glazed cream. Very nice balance as it's lightly glazed and the dough is very light. It's also loaded with cream filling, which I like, so make sure to have a napkin nearby since it will get a bit messy! read more

The Bakers Dozen menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering donuts such as apple fritters, honey buns and of course glazed. I ordered a dozen mixed for an office meeting. They were exquisite and all the donuts were fresh and refreshing. The service was great and I recommend going to Bakers Dozen. read more

Most softestestest donuts you will ever put in your mouth! You can get fresh hot glazed donuts throughout business hours which will get you coming back for more. Staff is usually always present and plentiful to help the busy hours that they are open. Everyone is always nice and patient. They offer various other donuts which you can find on the shelves when you walk in. Depending on the holiday, they will almost always have a special donut for that holiday. Each dozen of donuts you purchase, you get a complimentary donut of your choosing, but not the specialty ones. There are many options to choose from, so you should not have any difficulty selecting what you want for free! The shop is always clean and gives you an old school diner feel as there are bar stools by the counter if you want to sit and have a donut and coffee. This place is always busy, but not busy enough to where you won't be in there for longer than 5 minutes. I have been coming here for years over all of the other donut shops around, and luckily, it is closest to my house! Keep up the great work BD fam! read more

Omg omg omg! I can't believe it took me a year to finally make it to this place! It's kinda out of the way for me and wish they had a location closer towards EJGH! They would make a killing there with all the medical staff! Hint hint! I love their donut holes! That's about the only thing I get! It's soooo soft and just the right amount of sweetness and fluff! Yes I said it..fluff. These fresh bite sized donut holes can get you! You think you can just pop one in your mouth and be done? Nope !!! You see yourself going back for another one and another one until you realized you probably ate the entire box. Yes...I buy 60 donut holes at a time. Not for me but to "share" with my co-workers! When they do last more than 4 hrs...it's still just as delicious! I find myself oddly addicted to them! They are only open till 11 and sells out rather quickly! So get there fast! I'm not sure about the rest of the donuts...they look interesting but my go to us donut holes! read more

Their donuts are amazingly delicious, It just seems to me the donuts are getting a little smaller.

Excellent donuts, great service! Would recommend every donut, but you cannot go wrong with the glazed. Get there early - it's worth it!

Best donuts in the state! Yeah I said it. In. The. State!! The glaze are always hot and fluffy. The service is always great. I luv going here. read more

You better get in line right when they open, or else you might miss out! Many companies head their to get a load of donuts for the office. Why? Because the donuts are fabulously sinful especially the cinnamon twists, cinnamon rolls and apple fritters!! read more

Bakers Dozen is an amazing donut shop on Jefferson Hwy. I stopped by on national donut day and got 3 dozen of their special Julian donuts, which 100% of profits went towards Julian's cancer treatments. They were as cute as they were tasty. Two dozen went to Ochsner for their cardiology fellows and nurses, and they absolutely loved them! One dozen went to my apartment building, and the donuts was gone before I had time to go get napkins. The tastiness speaks to the love that was put into these donuts. I'll definitely be trying Bakers Dozen again! read more

Baker's Dozen donuts seem to be everywhere lately, and that is definitely not a complaint! These delicious donuts are fluffy, light and delicious and whenever I go to a party or event and see that they are serving Baker's Dozen donuts, I know that I am definitely in for a treat. Yes, their store is located all the way out in Jefferson, but it is definitely worth the trip. Not only are the donuts delicious but the staff is amazingly friendly. Brandi, one of the owners, is super personable and is always open to a chat. I look forward to another delicious bite of Baker's Dozen. read more

Up until about a year ago, I always thought this place was out of business and just an empty building. Whenever I would drive by it was never open nor were any cars there. I would often see people with boxes from here at garage sales around the area though. Fleurty Girl kept promoting them too. I finally looked them up on Yelp and said well, no wonder! They are hardly open. They close at 11am everyday. I had read a lot of good things about the place and said sometime I'll have to try to stop there when they are open. This past weekend, I finally stopped in. However, they were about to close in ten minutes and there really wasn't a whole lot left to choose from. I picked one of their Spring Fling donuts and took it home. It was very good. It wasn't too greasy and it was very light and fluffy. The glaze had just the right amount of sweetness to it. Each single donut is a dollar a piece. It seems their boxes of donut holes are a popular choice. They seem to cater a lot to little kids too, as many of their donuts are cutely decorated with cartoon characters (as seen on the calendar of their website). It would be nice if they had longer hours, but I guess they do a good enough business to stick with their current hours. read more

Tried to stop at Cafe Dumonde for benignes but the road work around the place was screwed up. Nix that plan. Headed out of town and yelped a donut place called Bakers Dozen. Small place, clean, friendly staff and great service. There was a line inside and while we waited (only about 5 minutes) donuts were disappearing as fast as a blink of a eye. People were buying everything 1-2-3 dozen at a time. Luckily, they were bringing trays out as they disappeared. We got 1/2 dozen mixed donuts and two apple fritters. My wife got a hot jelly donut straight from the kitchen frier. She said it was the best donut she has ever eaten. My apple fritter was excellent as well. Next time skip Cafe Dumonde and come here. Much better. read more

Great selection of very tasty donuts with a lot of different options and flavors. Only knock is the price though they do have very large donuts. Isn't a destination but if in the area in the AM its not a bad place to get that quick sugary breakfast. read more

So I'll start here I've only been once... So far but that's going to change in a hurry Staff: extremely friendly even though they were busy and I had a 4 year old wanting to choose her own and they were patient enough. Place: looks like a typical donut/coffee place with one major difference... It's CLEAN! and very clean! I didn't feel gross leaving there and felt very comfortable eating there (I'm picky) I may have been lucky but the donuts were so fresh and mouth watering i could've eaten a whole dozen on my own. My only complaint would be with a staff member. Although cute, she was wearing a Miami Dolphins shirt on Saints gameday Sunday so this is a little concerning... Who Dat! :)~ read more

The glazed donuts are Melt in your mouth good. Every single time I go in there they are warm. Also LOVE their buttermilk donuts. They taste like a tres leches cake but richer. For glazed donuts these are 900x better than any Krispy Kreme. read more

God bless the hands that make my donuts! I came for the first time last week and fell in love. My boyfriend comes often because it is close to his job, but I've never been since it's a little out of the way for me. These are HANDS DOWN the best donuts I've ever had. I'm a glazed only kinda girl so I can only speak on those, but I feel like if you have those down pact, all the others should be a piece of cake. I loved the little crisp outside, soft flaky center and that hot glaze wasn't too sweet! Perfection! Me and my boyfriend set our alarms for 4:30 this morning so we could go get a dozen. I don't want donuts from any other place now! Sending Air Hugs to everyone that has hands in Baker's Dozen!!! THANK YOU! read more

I went around 730 and it only took 5 mins from start to finish to get my order. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The donuts were hot and fresh. I sampled the glazed, chocolate covered cake, blueberry cake, and tiki specialty donut. Loved them! They were hot and fresh....worth every penny! read more

Look for smirk-worthy apparel on sale: "twisted" t-shirt with an image of a donut twist is all kinds of cute. Community Coffee demonstrated local support of a solid brew, warm and freshly brewed. All donuts are prepared the same day; my partner rides his bike past this location after midnight and attests to the delicious, freshness emanating from the kitchen. Since I'm not a purist when it comes to donuts, I judge the quality solely on Apple Fritter criteria and this place truly beats Blue Dot without a doubt: not over-glazed nor dense, the fluffy, softness melted in our mouths. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable without the usual aloofness expected from adolescent service. read more

I have to say I used to be a really a big donut fan, but had lost a great deal of enthusiasm for them because of the heaviness of most of the places around the city. I wasn't expecting much on this, my first visit to Bakers Dozen, but this place is the BOMB!!! I arrived at about 10 am, and asked if I could get a dozen hot glazed donuts. When the sales clerk simply turned around and reached for the donuts in the case behind her, I assumed I'd be receiving some donuts that I'd have to microwave at home to get them hot. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! The donuts WERE HOT, and AAMMAZZING!!! To add to that, the sales clerk was friendly and the place was VERY CLEAN and INVITING!!! I think I love donuts again!!! I'll definitely be back!!!! read more

I wouldn't give them any stars if I could. DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO BAKERS DOZEN!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO POORLY!!! I never post reviews, but I will take the time to post this one. I ordered letter donuts for my son for his high school acceptance day. I placed the order a week in advance. I received a confirmation and total price for the order. I go to pick up my order and am told they forgot to make it. The employee told me her bosses are the only one who knows how to make them and they are gone for the day. She called her bosses and they offered to make them for tomorrow or I could buy regular donuts! Now I understand people make mistakes but as a business, you come back and fulfill the order you promised to fulfill!!! Instead they acted like they couldn't care less that I now have no letter donuts and it's too late to order from anywhere else. I frantically called around. I have never been treated so poorly. If you are looking for a place that cares about their customers and are dependable, DO NOT GO TO BAKERS DOZEN!!!! read more

I have lived in the area for almost 5 years and out of all the places both in Nola and in Metairie area, Bakers Dozen has been the most consistent and best donuts we have found. I am a big fan of donuts and make it a part of our vacations to try regional donuts and pizzas. This place is definitely worth the stop.
