Really relaxed and perfect to stroll over to on a Saturday morning--perfect. + indoor ambiance: Not only does the outdoor carry character, the indoor portion has one long wooden table. It is the kind of table that is real sturdy. It doesn't shake. It's a solid piece of wood that you'd want if you had plenty of space. It stretches for approximately 15 ft. + dog-friendly outdoor: The front door is graced with a little water bowl for dogs walking by. CONS: - Biscuit & Eggs: This came with 2 "organic" eggs scrambled. It is placed on top of a tasty biscuit (garnished with something in the baking process). It's topped with some sharp cheddar that was melted. I love all these things. However, biting into this felt a little dry and as if something was missing... maybe some gravy? Might want to look into that Bakeri. It would also justify the price of $9. I cannot get over Bakeri Greenpoint! It was the most pleasant breakfast I've had in a while. My friend and I showed up around 10am on a Sunday to a relatively full cafe, but pretty quickly got a table for two in front of the gorgeous wallpaper (wooh!). It got way busier as we left, so I'd recommend an earlier trip if you're going for breakfast. We ordered a few pastries (skolebrød, cherry + raspberry scone, lemon cake), the ginger kale smoothie, and the biscuit + egg at the counter. The pastry selection was amazing and unique, with plenty to try (and they don't skimp on size!). Everything we got was delicious and perfect and I don't think anything could have made it better. The skolebrød was the best--basically a doughnut with a delicious custard filling. Even in the height of February winter, we sat by the door with sunlight and neighborhood puppies coming in. The service was extra friendly and I don't even need to comment on the gorgeous aesthetic because you can just look at the pictures! Definitely a new favorite cafe in the city! read more

Bakeri is one of my favorite New York bakeries. The Williamsburg location is so cute I could eat it up. So of course I had to trek it to Greenpoint for their second location. I took the infamous G train up to Greenpoint. The train can be a challenge on the weekend and that is an understatement. It was a crisp fall day. I got off at Greenpoint Ave. walked up Manahattan Ave to Freeman St. and busted a left. It was very residential. I was worried that I was in the wrong neighborhood. And then I finally saw the light coming through the art nouveau glass doors. There was a vintage blue wagon with little flowers planted in it. I arrived one hour to closing and there was only a few people in the shop. I was awe struck by the gorgeous floral wallpaper from French designer, Nathalie Lété. Incredible! I think I feel on love with it! Is is possible to be in love with wall paper? Then there's a large rustic communal table and a very nice breakfast bar that overlooks the kitchen. I love the exposed brick, the beautiful treat glass display and the large triangle pointed roof. I ordered my usual favorite the rosemary salted chocolate chip cookie with hazelnuts, a baby croissant and a polenta biscotti. ( I ate the last two items the next day) Since, it was the end of the day there was not too many savory options. I am excited to come here and enjoy a bowl of soup or a slice of quiche. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Greenpoint. We frequently come here, especially when we have family in town. The coffee is always sooo good and let's not forget the portion in which your coffee comes in (when you dine in), it's more like a bowl of great coffee :) The bread & pastry selection is really good as well. We always get the ciabatta bread (only $1.00). They also have some select breakfast & lunch options as well. The space is obviously IG friendly as lots of Intsagrammers frequent this spot and take pictures in their cool chairs & nice wallpaper backgrounds. Probably the best drip coffee I've ever had. I mostly drink espresso, and often find drip too watery or acidic, with just a little coffee flavor on the tail end. But my wife stopped in here and grabbed a small drip coffee and a peanut butter cookie and I couldn't believe how rich and pleasant the flavor of the coffee was, especially after a bite of their delicious peanut butter cookie. I've been coming to this Bakeri for a weekend treat for the past year and change. I have always had very pleasant experiences with all staff members, and always bring guests to this cafe/baked goods spot to "show off" the coolest parts of Greenpoint. A highlight customer service story was when I was taking way too long to choose a selection of pastries over the summer during the single-family COVID set up they currently have at their location. I had 2 staff members ask me about the small gathering I was going to (a 5-person wedding in Central Park) and they were able to assist me with collecting a great spread. They even remembered me each weekend after! Definitely visit this spot if you want great coffee (I recommend an oat milk cortado), mouthwatering pastries, and A+ personable customer service. PS - many businesses in Greenpoint (Alula, Homecoming, Sweetleaf) also ask if you'd like to tip or provide the screen for you to make a selection. $2 won't kill ya, but it could make up these people's days! read more

Tucked away on a side street Bakeri reminds me of a hipster Pain Quotidian with more than a touch of Marie-Antoinette about it. The decor is lovely, it looks like the kind of bakery/cafe you would expect to find in France but never do. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The coffee, bread, and baked goods here are all excellent. In addition to these, they offer standard brunch items (eggs, avocado toast etc), sandwiches and salads. You can also buy bread and pastries/cakes to take home. Alrhough there's plenty of outdoor seating, make sure to get there fast because Bakeri is a popular destination for dining, especially amongst locals. They appear to have a very loyal following. The menu is quite robust--offering a wide array of options, including coffee, breakfast items, and sandwiches. Upon first bite it becomes evident that the food is composed of high quality ingredients and it's not too sweet. So you don't have feel too guilty afterwards. I ordered an egg biscuit, cinnamon roll, and a chocolate chip cookie with sea salt for under $20. Each item was delicious but my favorite was the egg biscuit. It was savory, warm, fluffy yet flaky, and delectably satisfying for the soul. Staff was very personable, knowledgeable, respectful, and helpful. Despite the long line behind me, I did not feel rushed by staff to hurry my order choice--which was very easing. Some staff and most customers wore face masks. The store also had a complimentary dispenser of hand sanitizer. All forms of payment are accepted. We went as a group on a rainy Christmas Eve and sat at the large communal table in the front. We ordered coffee and split cinnamon roll (3.5/5), chive and gruyere biscuit (5/5), ham and swiss roll (4/5), and finally the Skolebrød which is filled with this sort of vanilla custard/pudding/eggy filling and topped with coconut yeah it's delish! This yummy shop, is super popular! Some people come in at the butt crack of dawn just to make sure this get that special pastry. Some of the things we wanted were sold out, which let's you know this stuff is the real deal. We did however manage to get other menu items to try. For me I had the Breakfast Kasha, truly it's because my friend shares the same name, so why not. I would've loved crushed hazelnut instead of full sized pieces. It gave an overwhelming taste of hazelnut. Definitely could've used more blueberries as well. It would be a benefit to add more to level out bland and nutty to sweet and crunchy. I actually love this spot and come here all the time. But some of the people that work there are not only unpleasant but kind of rude. Besides that I love coming here with my dog almost every day because my dog likes to chill by there and I always buy coffee and pastries. So now workers basically ask you for a tip where there's no sit down but just pickup your coffee and pastries I always tip on my own free will due to respect. But I think it's very UN appropriate to ask for the tip especially when they always mess up your order. I would never post that but the attitude I got numerous times just called for it. Following up on the comment left on some of the staff being rude. This place is great and I was excited to take my partner for a croissant and coffee. We arrived just a few minutes before closing and my partner wanted a mocha but unfortunately the barista was rude enough to tell my partner she couldn't make him his drink because they were closing. In the 20+ years of working in the restaurant service industry I've never had to turn down anyone or a request because we were close to closing.
