I live in another state and was here visiting family. I am always on the hunt for good BBQ. I found this place and wasn't exactly sure what to expect. From the moment we walked in I immediately came to appreciate the unpretentious, laid back feel. The wait staff was super courteous and attentive to our needs throughout (which was actually surprising as I have been in many BBQ joints and it isn't exactly a strong point for many). And the food. I ordinarily go into new places with average to low expectations, and this was no different. I had the assorted meat plate as an appetizer and a sandwich called the "HF" for my main course. All of it exceeded my expectations. It is clear that they actually care about the food they serve. It was perfectly cooked, prepared, and served. I enjoyed every bite (and perhaps a few more than I should have). At any rate, I give my highest recommendation for this restaurant. This is a great combination of competition-level BBQ and down-home sides. The turnip greens are legit, by the way. I haven't had anything I've needed to re-season. It's a BBQ restaurant, primarily, so the focus is on the meats. Pulled pork is great, brisket and chicken are too. The sauce is thicker than traditional West TN vinegar sauce, more like a Kansas City style, but that's OK. The catfish may be the best I've ever had. Prices are fair and portions are too. read more

Baker Bros BBQ is some of the best BBQ in Jackson. I usually go back and forth between the pulled pork plate and the brisket plate. Both are excellent choices. The restaurant is a nice environment, from the food to the pinball in the back. Every server that I've encountered there has been wonderful and Drew(the owner) is a good dude and makes all of his customers feel welcome. Will definitely be coming back, be it for BBQ or events. The Baker Brothers team cannot be beat. We had a large family gathering there back in December (about 16 people) ranging in age from 7 years old to 86 years old. Each person's food arrived perfectly plated and piping hot. Service was impeccable, food was delicious, and the casual atmosphere was perfect for a fun, family celebration. This was really good, first time there for dinner and most definitely will be returning and price was great for a family of 6 !!

They have frozen food. The service is poor. The owners are not professional. I'll never eat there again.
