    A little of everything

Cute little popup! We tried one of everything. To me - the scones were the star. The egg tarts were yummy too. My husband liked the garlic bun...I didnt get a picture of that though. I would go again if I was in the area.

HUGE egg tarts!! (Tad pricey though $6-$6.50 each) These are a different than the traditional Chinese egg tarts at dim sum. This is a Korean popup bakery and there's soooo many different flavors and treats to try. I got the regular egg tart and sweet potato egg tart, which is their new year flavor. They are not too sweet or eggy, very light, creamy, and custardy. The crust is less flakey and buttery, and more of a solid, almost pie-like crust. Sweet potato was fun to try but it doesn't beat the classic. Has sweet potato paste inside. The popup is open on weekends and the girl that was there was so sweet and kind! She was recommending us flavors and just lovely to chat with. The pastries are so cutie and aesthetic. Perfect weekend morning treat!

This is a pop-up bakery that has set up shop in a suite amongst the industrial warehouses of the Miramar neighborhood. A small sign placed at the end of a driveway indicated the presence of Bakemellow. It's now open five days a week instead of just on weekends. A small lot had sufficient spaces for the few suites that shared the common parking area. A friend told me to visit because of her favorite item which were the Scallion Scones. These were unfortunately sold out when I arrived. The display at the service counter featured cookies, egg tarts, and financiers. There were two egg tart flavors, original and corn. Both of them had a crown profile shape that was taller than the kind you find at dim sum houses. I bought one of each and was impressed by the creaminess of the custards. Several types of financiers were available which were French small cakes made with brown butter. I picked an original and a matcha for my order. They were shaped like mini loaves of bread but were moist and delicious. I do think they were a tad pricey at $3.75 each though. I am interested to see what other baked goods they make throughout the week as a small operation. I gave a four star rating for my visit to Bakemellow.

The egg tarts are good, but the real star? The scallion scone. I'm honestly sad I can eat it in two bites, but it was the perfect breakfast. Not too dry, perfectly balanced--no single component trying to steal the spotlight. The scallions, the sweet-savory cream cheese... just delicious. Pro tip: order ahead online because the scallion scone is a vibe on its own and sells out fast.

Bake Mellow is a sweet little treasure tucked into Miramar's weekend scene. This pop-up bakery specializes in petite, beautifully crafted pastries that blend classic techniques with eclectic flavors. From silky corn egg tarts with a golden, flaky crust to matcha madeleines and strawberry vanilla scones, every bite feels like a thoughtful celebration of flavor and form. What sets Bake Mellow apart is their artistry and seasonal creativity. Their pastries aren't just tasty -- they're visually stunning, with delicate details that make them perfect for gifting or treating yourself. The flavor profiles are playful yet refined - think earl grey, churro etc. that add depth and surprise. They're currently open weekends in Miramar, but they also pop up at other events and collaborate with fellow San Diego makers, so keep an eye on their socials for updates. it's always exciting to see where they'll show up next ;) Whether you're a pastry aficionado or just looking for something unique and delightful, Bake Mellow is worth seeking out. It's the kind of place that makes you fall in love with the art of baking all over again. And oh saving the best for the last - they have the sweetest owners and a super friendly team !!

Super fresh and delicious pastries. We ordered the scone set (scallion and vanilla strawberry), Dubai chewy cookie, and sweet potato tarts. The scone set is so good. Super yummy and moist scones. I loved the Scallion scone. The Dubai chew cookies are a must-try! The pick up is super easy and the owner is super sweet.

Highly recommended! Their desserts were not only delicious but also adorable. The corn egg tart was my personal favorite; it was incredibly flavorful and not too sweet. The Dubai chocolate chewy cake was equally delightful, with its satisfying chewy texture. I will order again for sure!

A cute little popup with delicious looking pastries! The parking lot it's in is small but we found parking easily on Sunday around 11 am. We got the original egg tart and strawberry cream scone. The egg tart was tasty, filled with creamy egg filling and the crust was thick and crunchy. The strawberry scone was so cute shaped like a Santa hat. It wasn't too dry, not too sweet and had a good amount of strawberry jam. The girl working was friendly and nice!

Been wanting to try this pop-up! Came on a Sunday around 11AM and it wasn't too busy, found parking easily too. It's more of a booth set up in the parking lot. The girl working was friendly and sweet! We got the original egg tart and strawberry cream scone. I love egg tarts and would say these are good, thicker than usual which I don't mind since I love the bread part. The strawberry scone isn't dry and a good sweetness. The decoration is cute and I like the strawberry. Payment is Zelle or Venmo only. Wishing them success!

Went to check out Bakemellow on a Sunday after seeing it on IG and it was just as good in real life! My favorite was the green onion scone which was super rich, flavorful and had a good crunch. The corn egg tart was also delicious and the cornbread cookie reminded me of a corn flake in cookie form. The staff was super friendly and helpful! I'll definitely be back to try their other pastries.

Best egg tart ever! It's incredibly soft, creamy, and so delicious that I can't stop thinking about it. Definitely a must-try!

Flour Atelier is a small bakery right next to the hovering Mitsuwa. They carry two refrigerated sections' worth of original treats and pastries, many with Asian flavors such as their ube leche flan and calamansi cheesecake. I'm a gluten free girly nowadays, but when I could eat their desserts I did love their cheesecake: a balance of cream-to-crust is important to me. And those flavors? Standout. Hard to find many other places. They also have tea and coffee, and my husband and I LOVE their hojicha latte, which boasts a nice earthy-to-sweet ratio. If you want a grounded flavor without getting another coffee, try the hojicha latte! The store itself is quite small, selling sweet treats, drinks, and even flowers through a collaboration with a florist. They have about 4 tables outside -- recommended for small parties, unless you come when it's empty with a group. BIG TIP: Bring your mother or mother-in-law here to impress -- that is, if she likes cute, sweet treats and a tea party vibe! My mom always loves coming here, and bringing the whole family, too Keep up the great work Flour Atelier!

There is no indoor seating but there are a few tables out front. It's an interesting concept. Flour meets flowers. The pastries are beautifully done & such a feast not only for your eyes but your palate as well. My dear son treated me to a Tiramisu pastry plus an iced Chagaccino. I saved the rest of the pastry for later since I was still full from my cream puffs. I did try a piece and it was perfection! I chugged down my delicious iced drink as we sat outside. My son told me their most popular pastry is a Calamansi cake, which sells out quickly. Would love to try one of those.

I arrived around 7:55 AM, well after the posted 7:30 AM opening time, and the store was clearly not ready--almost no bread was available for purchase, and an employee named Savannah was still stocking shelves while talking on the phone. That alone is disappointing, but what followed was worse. When I asked her for help finding a specific bread, I was met with a rude and dismissive response that it would take another 25 minutes. When I questioned why the store wasn't ready despite being open, she became defensive and started blaming others instead of helping or taking any responsibility. The situation escalated unnecessarily due to her attitude. Another employee then stepped in and found the bread within seconds, proving the issue wasn't availability--it was poor customer service. There was no apology, no attempt to de-escalate, and no sense of accountability. This reflects poorly on staff training and management oversight. Opening hours should mean the store is ready to serve customers, and basic professionalism should be the standard. Management needs to address both operational readiness and customer service training. Based on this experience, I would hesitate to return.

Among friends and family, I'm known as the baker, so my expectations for our dessert bar were very high. I wanted everything to feel elevated, unique, and absolutely delicious--and only Heritage & Co. met that bar. I wish they had a bakery storefront so we could go back every time we're in San Diego! I ordered the strawberry cake, which looked so pretty. When i came back to get the cake, the line was long but not as bad as my previous visit. It did still take a long time as there was only 1 cashier and people were buying lots of pastries. While i was standing in line, it took a lot of willpower not to grab more of their baked goods, it all looked so good! The cake was very nicely wrapped in a very sturdy box which i loved. They also gave me a cake cutter which was convenient. It looked perfect with all of the strawberries on top and the big shavings of white chocolate. We did enjoy the cake, but i will say it did not have as much strawberry flavor as i would have liked. It was nice and fluffy which was good, and the whip cream frosting was very light. Inside there were different layers of white and strawberry cake. Overall for the price it was a good deal, and the birthday girl was happy, so it was a win. I have been told the mango cake is very good, so i plan to try that one next, for the next celebration. I also can't wait to go back and try some pastries, and I'm sure I'll have a hard time not wanting to try everything. Definitely go check it out, but just bring your patience as you will probably have to wait a bit. Parking isn't bad as they have a decent sized lot. There is also a Target in the same plaza, and several restaurants and a Hobby Lobby.
