Cauliflower vegetable pizza
Michael B.

I've been to Baked about three times now. Pretty good pizza, especially the cauliflower crust. The bread they bring out with the olive oil is a real treat. Service is generally ok (always makes a point to thank you for your business which is nice) I look forward to the soup and salad bar returning and recommend giving them a try.

Pizza was good. Everything else was not. A lot of improvement needed or else out of business in 6 months.

Today was really good weather so everyone was downtown on the patio of every restaurant and we…read moreequally wanted to be on patio. Yeah that didn't happen because this place was also packed on the patio LMAO So keep that in mind. Good weather=slim chances of sitting outside especially on a Saturday. But, we actually enjoyed sitting indoors, less busy inside, more quiet. The seat inside are like a bench style so keep that in mind if you are a huge privacy person. Also the tables are small so if you are ordering a appetizer try to finish before your food comes out that way she can grab it. It was very tight when the entree came. The wall has a unique aesthetic with different items stemming from their culture. Our waitress was really nice, great sense of humor, and very well dressed in appearance. She paid attention in making sure we got a refill. Appetizer: 3 triple dipper hummus where you get pita bread and 3 flavors of hummus. The jalapeno hummus is the only one that stood out with a taste and flavor. The other two tasted the same and was very bland in my opinion. I ordered the Meze Bowl with couscous and it was really good except the hummus I think it was red roasted I can't remember. I would have been happy just with the jalapeno hummus. The person who I was with ended up getting a kabob and he enjoyed his food. Will I go back ? Yes This was my first visit so next time I know what to order. But, I would be more interested in visiting on a regular weekday vs the weekend. I think people should check it out for sure!

Their baba ganoosh was fresh and full of eggplant flavor, with much less additives some places use like mayo. The long grain rice was delicate and flavorful. The pita bread I think is fresh made- it was absolutely delicious.

I dont know how this place is even open. I called to make an order and he is hard to understand but…read morewas telling him what I wanted. He said to come in and order, so I did. He had told me over the phone when I come in it would take 2-5 minutes to prepare the food. I went in and he was folding silverware in napkins. He kept doing that as I stood there. I Starting to get annoyed because there's literally nobody in there and he's just standing there and I said can I go ahead and order. I said ok can I order this..... so he has no desserts, no coffee, majority of the Appetizers he doesn't have. I asked about ordering Turkish coffee, he had no coffee. I asked about the baklava or konafa, nope doesn't have that either. I said ok what about the sampler platter with the whipped feta, and cucumber salad... another nope. I asked if he knows when he will have all these items and what he does have if half the menu he doesn't even have. He said, "Oh maybe tomorrow, maybe next week." Dude it's your business if you're not gonna have things on the menu then you need to take them off the menu. There's no way in hell my food would've been ready in 2 to 5 minutes like he said on the phone if he takes 2 to 5 minutes just to stop what he's doing and address the customer because there's the one who's gonna pay your paycheck not the silverware. He said something about he had authentic Egyptian food and for some reason pointed to the water leak stain on the ceiling. I thought that was kind of weird that someone would point that out unless I thought he was pointing it out I don't know. I said ok I will try coming back another time then. He kept talking but I wont waste my time coming back to a place that doesn't have whats on their menu.

So me and my husband tried this place out for the first time…read more The place has a nice homely kind of atmosphere. Very clean, and very presentable. You can sit at a table, or you can sit at a booth. The workers were extremely polite and professional toward me and my boyfriend to say the very least. From the moment we walked in, we were instantly seated at a booth by our request. Not much longer after we were seated, the Waitress came by to take our drink orders. He got a Dr. Pepper and I got a Diet Coke. Let me start by saying this Waitress was VERY attentive to our table. About 5-10 minutes later, she came back to ask if we knew what we wanted to order. I wanted to get a medium Pizza but asked if we could get one half cheese and the other half pepperoni. She said we can definitely do that. About 10-20 minutes passed and here comes our Pizza. Nice and fresh! So much you could see the steam rising from it! The taste of this pizza was out of this world. Enough to make my mouth start salivating. The perfect combination of Crust/Dough/Sauce/Cheese. When you would remove a slice, it would leave a long and delicious trail of stringy cheese behind as you removed it from the whole pizza. Part way through our dinning experience, the Waitress came back and asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks which we said yes please. The quality/flavor of the drinks were top notch, let me just say that. There's something about having soda at a restaurant that makes it taste better than when you drink the same drink at home. When the waitress came back, she asked if we needed anything else. I told her "Check Please" She politely said, "right away sir" before going to get the check. So here's the interesting part, A medium half and half pizza, and two drinks. How much do you think that cost? Under $20! Such amazing quality Pizza for such a low price. We got all of the above for less than what you would pay to have Pizza Hut deliver you a Pizza. All in all, this was the first time me or my boyfriend had ever dined her. I intentionally held off on eating here when I knew he was moving to Kingsport Tennessee. And let me just say it was worth the wait. The food here is incredible! I'll definitely be coming back to eat here in the future! Or at least that's what my opinion of them was BEFORE Tonight on 10/17/2024... And I quote: "So this location is a place me and my husband enjoyed going to time and time again. We would always get the same thing. He would get a Dr. Pepper. I would get a Diet Coke. And we would get a Medium Cheese Pizza. This was all fine and good, til they did the one thing to cross the line. They Tip Shamed Us. As we left around 8:30 PM they said to us "you guys must not like us because you never tip." We explained we are on very minimal wages. They responded "When in doubt, don't eat out" also mentioning they run on tip to make living wages themselves. This is completely unprossional and unacceptable behavior. Tipping is always optional not a requirement. Especially when the cost of living is bleeding us all dry to begin with. We paid what we were legally obligated to pay, which was the bill for the meal. The tip, is never something that is a legal obligation to pay. On top of that, an employee of an establishment should never speak to the customer the way they did. Tip Shaming is NEVER okay and should not be allowed. No body should ever pressure you to making you feel like you have to tip. This is the very last time, me or my husband will be dining here. I'm not only infuriated that they would take this approach to try to get a tip out of us, but to approach my husband in such a way within an earshot of me. This establishment and all of it's employees should really learn how to PROPERLY treat the customers of whom are the reason they have a pay check. And that's not even getting into the dining experience we had on this night. They were running out of Dr. Pepper and my husband could tell the difference. It tasted like carbonated water and it did not have the same color that Dr Pepper usually has. I legitimately had to flag down a waitress to have this issue resolved because they were being unattentive to us in particular. Probably because they had tip shaming on the mind on this visit. The person who served us the Pizza wasn't even the original waitress. She served the pizza and then not even in a polite tone said Have a nice night, as if to say we weren't getting any more service on this visit. The original waitress came to check up on us only one time as a pose to the usual couple of times they check up on us. To summarize my thoughts, we are never coming to this establishment ever again. If you sincerely thing tip shaming is the right way to get a tip out of someone, you sincerely need to get over yourself. Now, not only do you not get a tip, you have lost 2 loyal customers and landed yourself a bad review in the process. I hope it was worth it."

Good selection of food but this place is more of an Italian restaurant in disguise than it is a Greek restaurant. Alot of pizza and pasta on the menu. There were a handful of Greek items, my wife got falafel and it was really dry, I got the gyro plate and it wasn't bad. We were wanting more traditional sides like humus, a Greek salad, and rice, which is usually comes with these types of plates, but their sides offerings were pasta salad, broccoli, and a few other things that don't really fit the bill. We asked if we could make substitutions so that we could have it how we wanted and they nicely obliged but they kept leaving things off, or gave us the wrong thing and we had to go back inside two different times. Glad we didn't just drive away before checking our order. The food was decent enough, may go back to try a few other things. Just wish it was more of what Greek/Mediterranean restaurants are in other areas.

We lucked out with a table on the cozy patio sitting on Main Street, where the town buzzes with life. The interior is beautiful and refined, but the outdoor setting, with the fresh mountain air and the hum of the town, created the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Service was impeccable. Gracious, attentive, and perfectly timed throughout the night. We began with a chilled French Chenin Blanc that paired beautifully with our appetizers. The escargot, bathed in a garlic cream and Gruyère sauce, was rich and mouth meltingly tasty. The braised and seared octopus was incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and quite honestly, one of the best we've had anywhere. For mains, we shared the heirloom tomato burger, which was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Alongside that, we split the mushroom burrata orecchiette, pillowy pasta coated in a creamy lemon pistachio pesto with locally sourced mushrooms. It was rich, bright, and beautifully composed. When dessert rolled around, we switched things up with cocktails. I had the old fashioned with a pistachio twist, complex and not overly sweet. My wife enjoyed a smooth and flavorful espresso martini. Both paired wonderfully with the finale: a creamy, light tiramisu and a house-made French éclair with fresh peaches. Each bite was the perfect ending to an already stunning meal. From start to finish, Café Violette delivered. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the view all came together in the best possible way. This is French fine dining with soul, nestled in one of North Carolina's most charming towns.
