At this point, I'm addicted to their lemon blueberry cake, and also adding the pimento cheese dip (bought at Domke) to crackers! The shop is cute and quaint, the staff is kinds and helpful but what sells you is the flavor of their goods! I also enjoy the fact that their slowly, but surely venturing out and becoming visible (and for purchase) in different local businesses around town. #MajorKey Cheers to your continued success, and that lemon blueberry cake!

Assorted cookies-individually wrapped was a nice addition.

I ordered the assorted cookie box for a friend's birthday as a surprise. Shipping was very quick and was the recipient informed me the cookies are delicious. Also, because I am out of state I made a few calls with questions-the customer service excellent as well. Highly recommend!

Ok, where has this lovely little place been all my life?? It may just be my new favorite thing. First of all, I love chocolate chip cookies. I can pass up many kinds of desserts and cakes on the basis of "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" but...chocolate chip cookies done right? I can not pass that up. That's being said, this may be a dangerous discovery I have just made. Also, their red beans and rice are really good! They only needed a little splash of hot sauce. Grabbed some to go and brought it home for lunch. It was a big hit with my kids!

I love this little bakery. It has some of the best sweets I've ever had, and they also offer daily options for hot lunch. Their chocolate chip cookie is my absolute favorite, and I don't make that claim lightly. I seek out chocolate chip cookies when traveling so I've had them from Seattle to NYC and plenty of places in between, and this cookie is the standard by which I compare others. The edge is slightly crispy but the center is so soft - my favorite combination. I also really enjoy their pound cake and blueberry lemon cake that's served on occasion. They usually have a two or three different sliced cakes to choose from. Be mindful that you can't go in and buy up all the slices of one kind - there is a slice limit but I can't remember what it is (2 or 3 maybe). If you need more they ask that you order a full cake in advance, which is understandable. There's a cooler stocked with pimento cheese, chicken salad and a few other things. Grabbing a chicken salad croissant js a convenient lunch option for me and it comes with a cookie if you make it a meal. Hot lunch options change daily but it's stuff like taco soup, gumbo, red beans and rice, etc. I really enjoy the taco soup. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Update: put a little heat in the pecan bar and WOW!! Worth a star! Quaint little bakery and lunch spot. They have cookies, cakes, brownies and savory items for lunch or dinner, like soup & red beans. I just dropped in to check it out it was 4:30pm. They close at 5 and are not open on the weekends so it's been on my list for a while. It was a quick visit but I picked up a lemon bar and two pecan pie bars. They we're pretty good. I'm a a huge lemon, anything, fan so I'm a tough critic. It was moist and the icing was full of flavor (I would guess it's confectioners sugar and milk with lemon flavoring) the cake part was ok. A little dense like a pound cake but it wasn't bad at all. The pecan pie bar was a little square of pecan, what I would call soft ball stage, candy not really the consistency of pecan pie . The ratio pecan pie to crust was about 35/65. I prefer more pie than crust, although the crust was done very well, flaky, beautiful color. But it didn't lack flavor, the gooey topping was very good , just not enough of it and I was really looking for a pecan pie on top of a crust. I'll probably stop be there again to give it another try when I'm not in rush.

My GO-TO place when I'm having a sweet tooth craving! Red velvet pound cake was super moist and had a little crunch at the bottom.. yum! The cookies are also good too! It's a cute little bake shop ducked off and parking can be limited.

After hearing some people at my office rave about the cookies, my friend at work looked this place up on Facebook and saw that they also have daily lunch specials. We decided to give it a try last week. Rather than the specials of the day, which were taco soup and jambalaya, we opted for items out of the cooler. I had the mini chicken salad croissant and the mini pimento cheese croissant. My friend had had the mini pimento cheese croissant and a shrimp and pasta salad. I also had a square of strawberry cake and we bought some cookies to take back to the office. The chicken salad and pimento cheese tasted about like Newk's, which is a very good thing, but they were much less expensive, making them even better. The shrimp pasta salad was a tad bit dry, but good. The strawberry cake was moist, but definitely the jello recipe, which is not a compliment. The cookies - wow! I understand what the fuss is all about! Divine!

I had heard about this wonderful bakery from my friend in Atlanta that frequently visits Mobile. My husband and I were passing through Mobile this week and knew I had to make time for a visit. I am soooo glad I did. Wow! Everything is amazing. We were on our way to visit family in Covington, LA so we thought we would pick up some things to take with us. We bought a dozen of the cookies, a lemon brownie and strawberry cake. It was very hard to ride two hours in the car without trying something. I broke out the cookies as soon as we got to Covington. Loved the chocolate chip but really liked the toffee pecan cookies. Later we devoured the strawberry cake and lemon brownie. The lemon brownie is like lemon pound cake and I am sad that I only bought one. My husband loves strawberry cake and didn't share but said it was very good. If you live in the Mobile area you are lucky to have such a wonderful bakery close by. I highly recommend Bake My Day and hope to visit again when we are passing through Mobile.

Literally the best desserts I've had. Haven't been to the location, but will definitely be the next place I visit when over in Mobile!

For instance, advised that my daughter was shy when the kid hesitated to order one day, the barista brightened up even more and put the girl at ease. Whether their coffee is good or not is completely subjective. I think it's good overall, but it might not be my first choice in town. But it's made with care, and as mentioned, roasted in house. Its popularity speaks to its quality. They also have a very good selection of pastries and other goodies to accompany your coffee, including a Mobile institution--cheesecake from a local company called Cotton Blues. The only gripe I have about Carpe Diem is their seating setup. There simply isn't enough of it. That said, I don't know how they could use the space more efficiently, since the cafe is small as it is. I prefer more private seating, which in other coffee houses I've been to has been accomplished with the judicious use of plants or high-backed chairs. The biggest component of the crowded seating is due to students from Springhill College across the street. Today, for instance, my husband and I were unable to find any seating at all. Even on the days when we can find seating, being entirely surrounded by people working quietly on their laptops feels awkward and lends a library-like feel to the atmosphere. It feels rude to have a conversation at a regular level. I feel like I'm intruding. I don't know how a coffee shop should handle this conundrum, as it's really not good business practice to limit customers' time while there, or to turn away clientele, even in an attempt to please all of their customers. There is already a back room which seems to be an unofficial space dedicated to students, but the overflow still takes up much of the cafe. That said, I enjoy Carpe Diem and going there is a nice little treat. I would definitely recommend it.

Very warm feeling with indoor and outdoor seating. The pastries and sandwiches make this a good place for breakfast or lunch also.
