We were seated right away, so at first things seemed promising. But it quickly became clear they were short-staffed, and the kitchen was seriously backed up, likely because three large groups had arrived before us. It took 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order and then another 45 minutes before our food finally showed up. The wait felt endless, and the lack of communication made it even more frustrating. It's disappointing because the food was fantastic. Good enough to make you mad because you want to love this place, but the slow, overwhelmed service makes it pretty hard. If they can figure out staffing and timing, this place could be amazing. Until then, bring patience, snacks, and don't bring your impatient kids. read more

The location and space was great! The decor, mural and setting is super cute!! Can't wait to sit on the patio during the summer. The fries and shakes were the best part of our meal. Great place for a large group! read more

My colleague and I thought it was such a beautiful day, so I was super excited he suggested to eat at Bailey's since they have a patio. Unfortunately, when we got there, the patio was closed/locked up, and we had to eat inside. :( We ordered "The Real Thing" and "Butter up" to eat there (dine-in) and got the "BBB" ("to-go") for the colleague who had to stay in the office. Also, got the large fries with Rooster mayo and garlic aioli. Service was confusing!.... Ok, It sucked, too! * Our server never brought us our waters, so we had to ask another server. * Our food that we ordered for "take out" wasn't only the FIRST thing that came out, but it came out less than 10 minutes since ordering... but our dine-in food came out after 40 minutes. Ok! I can try to understand some burgers may take long, but 40 minutes? Seriously? I'm not overexaggerating the time either, I checked the time on the photo I took around the time we ordered. . What I really don't understand is why the "take out order" was made before our "dine-in" food in the first place!. I told the server that we have to take food for our colleague. Common sense to put in the "take out" AFTER the dine-in order, especially knowing that we were eating there. Now he has to eat an expensive and an hour-old cold ass burger. The food was okay, not memorable! It wasn't a juicy burger as I hoped for. Maybe the 40 minutes dried out my burger. SMH! It took most of our lunch break, so honestly, we didn't even get to enjoy our $25 burger with fries. They were so quick to give us the check, though. LOL! read more

I was gifted a gift card to this place from a family member, and I am so glad she helped me discover this restaurant. We went a few times ever since using up the gift card and can't wait to go back again. There is such a great variety of Burgers with variety of different meats, including chicken, beef, bison, and vegetarian! They also have some healthy salads, a variety of sides, including fries with fantastic flavors of dipping sauces, and of course, a whole smattering of ice creams for dessert. Unfortunately, I have always been so full with the meal that I have yet to try and ice cream, so I definitely need to go back! There is plenty of indoor seating away from the elements, but also a nice patio that I was able to take my puppy to and sit outside, enjoying the sunshine as well. Definitely family, friendly, good quality, food, great decor, and excellent staff. read more

Stay away garden glow attendees! We had a group of 9 going to Garden Glow and planned to eat at Baileys' Range beforehand. I called an hour ahead to ask if they could handle a party our size and was told that while they're first-come, first-served, if we arrived by 5:30 they'd have no problem getting us seated and out in time for our 7pm tickets. A few of us got there around 5:15. It took 10 minutes before the hostess even spoke to us. She seemed visibly anxious, and when I said we had 9, her response was, "I have no idea how long it'll take -- could be 10 minutes, could be an hour." When I said that made it hard to decide whether to stay, she became frustrated and said they were short-staffed. I explained that I had just called and was told confidently to come in, and she said she didn't care who I talked to. There were plenty of empty tables. I understand restaurants struggle with staffing, but the attitude was unnecessary. Me asking how long I thought it would be caused a massive reaction from the hostess. We would have made other arrangements if a group our size was going to cause issues. With Garden Glow happening one block away, it's surprising they weren't prepared for larger groups. A simple, honest heads-up over the phone would've saved us a lot of trouble. Disappointing experience. read more

Would not recommend! We waited over an hour for our food when the place was nearly empty. The server did not come to check in on us or let us know where our food was at. We had to get up and leave because the food was not out and we had an appointment to get to (that we allotted 1.5hours to eat before) When we asked the server for an estimate he said he was not unsure. Worst experience at a restaurant I ever had! read more

Service was terrible. Kinda had a bad feeling as soon as we walked in. Hostess/ bartender was only a few feet away, but made no attempt to say hello or even acknowledge us when we walked in. They were obviously under staffed and maybe should not have been open. Only two employees that we ever saw. I'm assuming there was a cook, but it was 20 minutes after we were seated that we finally ordered then another 45 before we got our food. Other tables were also waiting that long. However, there were tables that came in after us, ordered after us that we're done eating before we got our food. Water was gone long before our food came. Food was descent. Good fries with lots of sauce options. Another 20 Minutes to get our check so we could pay. read more

1st time trying The Range Thurs 1pm & while I liked atmosphere it was a little Stark! Wished it had been warmer cause they have large back room w garage doors on 2 sides which would have been cool to have big open space! Also front patio has colorful chairs & tables & this area is dog friendly! Since we wanted low table & chairs we were sent to big back room where the 2 of us were seated. Great setup for happy hour w lots of tables/stools. Order was taken by guy, brisket chili, grilled chicken breast & fries for me & forgot what friend got. After awhile waiter brought bowl of brisket chili, at table he added shredded cheese & fresh onions. Immediately called him back as we needed spoons & he brought spoons back. Yes looking forward to tasting. He dashed off & we tried chili & what a disappointment it was ice cold! 1 cold spoonful meant ask waiter to heat up & his response was I will take it off bill & we said no just heat it up & will pay for. He returned w hot bowl of chili & we both liked flavor. My BBB chicken breast/bacon/bourbon sauce/lettuce,tomato,fresh bun w pickle spear & fries w housemade catsup. Variety of flavorful dips & would try more next time! Negatives: the ckn breast was burned so much I tasted char in every bite. Friend had burger that was dry. I will give it another try when temps r warmer & hope it's better. read more

We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday and were seated right away on the patio. The ambiance is super cute and trendy. Service was good overall. The menu is easy to follow, and has a battle section between 2 burgers, which was pretty cool! - Tasmanian devil (4.5/5): SO YUMMY! Wow this burger was packed with flavor. A bit on the spicy side but it added to the flavor. Meat was a pretty big portion. Had some crunch which added great texture. Would definitely recommend - Steak house (3/5): honestly this burger was a bit dry and needed more sauce. The flavor was good but not amazing. Felt like it was missing something. The bison was cooked well - Large fries (4/5): cooked well, some crispy. The sauces were delicious, especially the garlic aioli. read more

This was a recommendation from a friend, really good. The restaurant offers quite a bit of seating throughout, service was friendly and attentive. The menu is limited but the food was delicious. The fries are sooooo good! I also enjoyed a Blackberry Cider, but other offerings include boozy shakes and local beers. Options are house made. The space is large and open, we sat in the upper floor and were able too look down on the rest of the restaurant. read more

First time visiting the new Shaw location and it was pretty decent. It didn't live up to its expectations but maybe it was just an off day. I ordered the classic beef burger medium rare with the traditional LTOP + Mayo and ketchup. The burger was more of a medium cook but still pretty good. Very filling that's for sure. I ordered the fries as a side and those were way too over cooked & pretty burnt . I'll give them another try and hope the food is prepared better. read more

If the food was as good as the service and ambiance, I would be a regular for sure! I had such high expectations for this place and left feeling quite subpar. When my boyfriend and I first walked into the restaurant, no one was working the front. We did have to wait a while to be seated which wasn't too bothersome as we could tell they seemed understaffed. Upon arrival to the table, we received such great, personable service from our waiter! He also gave helpful advice about the local area and places to visit. The best thing about this place was most definitely the ambiance. Despite there being several outdoor seating to accommodate for the summer season, when we visited during winter, we were wowed by the cozy, welcoming feeling of the interior. The place we nicely decorated and they even had a Christmas movie playing which got us in the holiday spirit! I really wish I could rave about this restaurant's food as much as every other aspect, but we were left feeling disappointed. We felt that the onion rings were lacking in seasoning and were too heavily battered to enjoy. My boyfriend ordered the classic double burger which he felt was ok, but nothing worth noting. We also felt like the Garlic Aioli sauce was a little too heavy on the mayo. On the other hand, The Meltdown I ordered was definitely a showstopper and something to try while it's still available. The happy hour prices were acceptable, but we are unsure if it's worth giving another shot. read more

Used to love Range but our last visit to the Shaw location was a bummer. Formerly known as for stellar food and service, both were distinctly lacking. Drinks and food both took forever to arrive despite the restaurant being largely empty. Been wanting to check this place out for a while! Before this location opened and it was just the original in fact. Queue the girlfriend saying she wanted a burger and some fries one night. I finally had my opportunity! The place is aesthetically awesome. A huge patio leads to the front of the restaurant where garage doors open to give people sitting inside a chance to enjoy the weather when it's nice as well. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and trendy. On the Monday night we went around 630 or so, it was pretty slow when we got there but the patio ended up being decently full by the time we left. The menu is amazing. Offering pork, beef, and bison burgers with a creative list of accoutrements. They offer other sandwiches, hot dogs, and salads as well. It was hard to decide, until I spotted the "burger battle" portion in which they note each week 2 burgers face off and the one most ordered stands. I went with the reigning champ, which at the time was 2 chicken patties with Gouda cheese, hot honey glaze, and red hot riplets. I was not let down. It was absolutely delicious. With so many options I can't wait to go back to try more burgers, and maybe even a hot dog or two. They have a fun drink menu as well, offering shakes, boozy lemonades and teas, and a pretty solid beer list. The reason I can't give 5 stars here, was the service. We sat at the bar, and the woman behind the bar didn't seem too enthused to be there. On top of this, the food was extremely slow to come out despite a nearly empty restaurant when we ordered. Also upon asking for our check and not receiving it the first time we asked, it was a chore trying to flag someone down to ask again. Let's hope this was an off night service wise. read more

What a hidden gem. Located in the Shaw Neighborhood within walking distance of the Botanical Garden. We stopped in for dinner. The patio is inviting and such a cute space. We were greeted warmly and promptly seated. Our server Lux took great care of our table. She was knowledgeable and friendly. First let me say, milkshakes are a must. We chose this place in particular because they use house made ice cream in their shakes as opposed to custard. We have an egg allergy in our group and custard is made with egg yolk. The ice cream is absolutely delicious. We got strawberry and cookies and cream shakes. We also got a boozy dreamsicle shake. Talk about yum! The burgers were great! We also have a vegetarian in our group and appreciate the variety of patty options for the burgers. All of the burgers came as a double which in my opinion, makes them worth the price. Highly recommend the pretzel buns! We ordered fries and onion rings to share..... both were crisp and tasty. They have several homemade sauces to choose from for dipping. We went with a horseradish sauce and a spicy bbq. A family friendly, dietary restriction conscious, space with great food and service. Definitely planning on going back again soon!! read more

A place I wish I could love...Bailey's disappoints me in some way every visit. Tonight, the Onion Ring appetizer didn't arrive till we were at least half way through our meal. Compounding the disappointment, the rings didn't have there usual ringity zing. Something was missing from the batter. My custom burger was good but they forgot the bacon. Fries were really good. Service was okay but who knows where responsibility for the Onion Ring debacle lies. Last time we were here, I loved my salad but we had some interminable delays which were hard to explain given the restaurant was at least 1/2 empty. We watched this restaurant being built and we were so excited to have another walkable restaurant option in Tower Grove. This one will be off our list for awhile. read more

My hubby and I came here for lunch after an afternoon at the Botanical Garden (easily walkable). It wasn't busy, we found street parking easily. We were immediately seated and the staff was very helpful and attentive. The space is very cute and bright. Fun decor inside and corn hole outside with umbrella tables. It was a gorgeous day and they had all the garage doors open giving a wonderful fresh atmosphere. My hubby ordered the burger with Swiss which was solid and I went for the butternut squash salad which was epic. Baileys has gone down hill. Service is at an all time low. First off 20mins before drink order. was taken, on top of that glassware two times was sticky and dirty. The table next to us was not cleared the entire time we were there (1-1/2 hr ) and the only reason we were there that long is that service is truly non existent. I cannot stress service enough. Take your drink order and then take 15-20 mins to bring a beer, wild. The staff is the most self indulgent I have seen in a while. On top of that all three orders were missing at least one ingredient. Then when we said something , " We were being disrespectful ". lol. Bailey's Range is a culinary haven for burger enthusiasts and ice cream aficionados alike. Their hand-mixed cherry Coke is a refreshing twist on a classic, offering a sweet and tangy kick. The bacon burger is a masterpiece of flavors, featuring succulent bacon and a perfectly cooked patty that leaves a lasting impression. The pretzel bites in beer cheese sauce provide a delightful combination of soft, salty pretzels and a rich, velvety cheese dip. And let's not forget the double-battered fries, which are a crispy and addictive accompaniment to any meal. My fiancé used to live in St. Louis about 6 years ago and Bailey's Range was one of her favorite spots so obviously since we were coming to visit it was a must eat on her list. Upon arrival it was open seating. No problem. We found a few tables upstairs but they didn't have table numbers or QR codes so we had to find one that did have a QR code. After finding a table and looking at the menu my fiancé was sad to see if had changed so much. They apparently used to have corn fritters, a shroom & Swiss burger and their "famous" fries. But none of those things exist anymore. The menu looked good: it's mostly burgers, appetizers and shakes. She was able to customize a burger to be like the one she wanted and I found the Steakhouse burger that looked great to me. We also ordered onion rings and pretzels. This is where the trouble started... we both ordered sodas that we had to ask for since no one had our ticket. That took about 25-30 mins to get. An hour in we realized we still had no food. We asked the "server" (more just glorified food runners) and were told they should be up soon. After about 5-10 mins we then asked another server and he said he would look into it and grab the manager. After about 15 mins we were told that the order was never placed. We showed the server that it was in fact placed via their toast system but they didn't see it. We finally got our burgers. They were also messed up. I was missing my cheese and my STL bbq sauce for my fries. My fiancé was missing lettuce and tomato. My burger patty was cold in the center. I asked for medium and it was pretty close. Twenty mins later we got our missing burger toppings Thirty mins later we got our appetizers. We never got our Togo boxes. I wanted to try a shake but the table next to us waited 45 minutes and never got theirs. So I decided it was a bad idea. This was a one time visit for me cause I have no reason to come back to STL but even if I do I'd never come back Bailey's Range. The manager couldn't have cared less to address our multiple issues. We weren't looking for a handout. Just some acknowledgment. Their restaurant wasn't business enough or short staffed enough for these issues to make sense. No was there to expo the food. The kitchen looked to be bare bones. And the staff just basically gave up on everyone that sat upstairs. Needless to say, don't go here. Find another burger place. read more

I got stuck here with a baby after Fiddlehead Fern Cafe didn't have a seat and we were desperate. Big mistake. Yelp had warned me but again, we were desperate. Their kids menu is junk food. I wanted to order plain chicken breast, pineapple (on one of their burgers), veggies, something like that a la carte for baby. They said that's not possible and a single chicken breast would be the price of the whole burger. Ok whatever I'll get the burger-priced chicken breast. It took 30 min to get a sangria. After 45 min, I begged the server to just bring something edible as we were out of things to occupy baby. Raisins were gone, straws were all on the floor, etc. Suddenly the food was ready. It was all pretty salty. Not awful though. The space is lovely but the service is terrible. I won't be back even when I'm desperate. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the sense that the location is great, it's a cute place, and the food and drinks are so good. But every single time I come here the wait staff service is worse and worse. Recently we were at the restaurant for a total of two hours. It took us 20 minutes to eat our food. The other hour and 40 minutes was waiting for wait staff to take our order and bring us our check. On average we wait 30-40 minutes for our waitress to even take our order and 45 minutes for them to bring our check after our table was already cleared. Our server came to our table 4 times in the two hours we were here. Once to take our drink order after being here for 15-20 minutes, once to take our food order 30-40 minutes after the drink order because they forgot they hadn't taken our order already, once to bring the food, and once to bring the check after almost 45 minutes to an hour after dropping our food. Such a shame that such a great place is diminished by wait staff service every time we come here and get the same service. read more

I went to the Shaw location twice in one week looking forward to a wonderful burger. The first time was with a group of 8. Bartender was great while we waited a long time for our table but the waitress was terrible. She was polite but didn't put in the 3 kids meals, only 1. Then we didn't get their dinners until after we were all finished. We just had them packaged up. They did not reheat well later and was discarded. My burger was well done and did not have much flavor. I ordered medium rare. I didn't send it back bc of how long everything took. Nor, did I complain to manager. I just blamed it on the busy night. However, I went back for lunch a few days later. It wasn't busy. My burger, again wasn't cooked properly. I did complain this time & wasn't charged. I love your downtown location and am disappointed that this location isn't up to par. read more

We dropped in for a lunch date on a Monday. The restaurant was bright and clean and the waiters were friendly. We ordered burgers and fries. The one thing that always impresses me about the Range is attention to detail. We ordered a simple meal of a burger and fries. Each component of the order was perfect. The fries had a great crunch but were soft inside. The condiments were all fresh and house-made. The burgers were cooked according to our preferences. They were the stars of the meal. The meat was juicy and the buns were fresh. The neighborhood atmosphere of this location really adds to the ambiance. I can't recommend this enough. read more

This new Shaw location has been a long time coming.... and was worth the wait! The style, patio and open air interior are gorgeous with a similar vibe as Rooster. It's a very kid and family friendly restaurant but they also offer a nice drink menu with tons of local beer on tap and a boozy lemonade and ice tea selections. I ordered the ginger peach lemonade. I was worried it would be too sweet, but it was perfect - not sugary at all and a good balance of flavors. For my meal I had the burger with goat cheese and bacon jam. It was cooked medium, just how I requested, and the bacon jam was there but not over powering. I like the selection of dipping sauces you can choose for your fries. My son offered a small blueberry lavender shake. We were surprised by how small it actually was but it makes sense. How often do you want to order the shake but don't want to be so full from it that you can't eat your meal? And if you're just coming for dessert... get the large!
