Walk in and there are plenty of tables, a couple of gathering areas, standing room narrow tables, an outdoor area, and a room off to the side. I went for the Logboat Dark Matter which I have had before in a can and wanted to try on draft. I enjoyed it very much. You know what is great?! Since they don't have food, you can bring it in yourself. Both times our group has met up here Katie's Pizza is the choice and its in the same parking lot. You can't go wrong with Katie's. Bartender is on the ball and friendly, TV's all around, not too loud so you can talk. Wednesday nights they have Trivia and I stayed for the first round, it was very current for the current event category. Get a pizza from Katie's, go here, have a beer, have fun!

Being an avid sounders fan and being an enemy territory I was a little nervous, but they were super nice and very friendly. So what was it like? The service is a mixed bag. You have to go to the service, it doesn't come to you. The menu is not too complicated. We came for pizza. And all the pizzas have an artist name. We had the Francis Bacon. It's a meat pizza that's pretty good on top but the crust was so burnt it killed the pizza joy. At $18.50 this pizza shouldn't be charcoal around the crust. On the other hand the salads were excellent. The small ranch salad was a delightful mix of romaine with bacon, heirloom tomatoes, Parmesan with some very thinly sliced onions and a delicious ranch dressing. This was the best $5.49 salad I've ever had and it was the redeeming dish for our meal. Overall the food was satisfactory in quantity but take ten points off for the burnt crust. We put in our order at the bar where we had to wait in line. Minus 10 points. The salad arrived quickly but the wait for the pizza was longer than expected. I guess they need extra time to burn the crust. Now as to ambiance. There isn't any. It's a neighborhood joint. The stools are too high and the benches outside are too hard. But in the end we enjoyed it. It's a neighborhood joint.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and feels like the kind of neighborhood place where friends gather after work or meet up on a weekend afternoon. It has personality, and I genuinely wanted to love it. The cocktails got us off to a great start. My gin and tonic was clean, crisp, and well balanced with quality tonic. Ordering is done at the counter, and while the bartender simply called out, "Here you go!" when our drinks were ready, that's clearly just how they keep things moving without running all over the restaurant. We ordered three calzones and a cup of roasted red pepper soup. The soup was tasty, and the calzone dough was excellent--hot, chewy, yeasty, and exactly what a pizza crust should be. Here's where I think they missed an opportunity. The standard calzone comes with three fillings. Looking over all the delicious options, we wanted to pay extra to add a fourth ingredient, but were told that wasn't possible because of the size. As someone who was literally trying to spend more money, that was confusing. The bigger issue was that the fillings themselves were pretty sparse. The flavors were there, but the quantity just wasn't. The bread ended up carrying the meal instead of the ingredients inside. A more generously filled calzone would have completely changed the experience. When we finished, we all had the same reaction: "That was good." Unfortunately, none of us said, "We have to come back." That's the disappointing part because Gallery Pub has everything else going for it. The atmosphere is one of its greatest strengths, and it's the kind of place you want to root for. I just wish the food had been as memorable as the space itself. I hope they reconsider being a little more generous with the fillings and embrace customers who want to customize their orders. Sometimes it's the small things that turn a nice neighborhood pub into someone's favorite neighborhood pub.

Rockwell Beer Company earns the association honestly. I walk in wary (I don't drink beer, don't like it, and an industrial brewery hugging a busy four-lane street is not my native habitat), I get the sense I need to eat in the corner so people don't discover the non-beer drinker; however, I walked out humming. The reason is the food, sourced through Street Food by Brasas. This is not brewery food that apologizes for itself. Pretzels, wings, both worth ordering again. The pizzas (barbecue, pepperoni) land in that rare category of elevated bar snack. I'd happily return for a table's worth.
