So what was it like? The service is a mixed bag. You have to go to the service, it doesn't come to you. The menu is not too complicated. We came for pizza. And all the pizzas have an artist name. We had the Francis Bacon. It's a meat pizza that's pretty good on top but the crust was so burnt it killed the pizza joy. At $18.50 this pizza shouldn't be charcoal around the crust. On the other hand the salads were excellent. The small ranch salad was a delightful mix of romaine with bacon, heirloom tomatoes, Parmesan with some very thinly sliced onions and a delicious ranch dressing. This was the best $5.49 salad I've ever had and it was the redeeming dish for our meal. Overall the food was satisfactory in quantity but take ten points off for the burnt crust. We put in our order at the bar where we had to wait in line. Minus 10 points. The salad arrived quickly but the wait for the pizza was longer than expected. I guess they need extra time to burn the crust. Now as to ambiance. There isn't any. It's a neighborhood joint. The stools are too high and the benches outside are too hard. But in the end we enjoyed it. It's a neighborhood joint.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and feels like the kind of neighborhood place where friends gather after work or meet up on a weekend afternoon. It has personality, and I genuinely wanted to love it. The cocktails got us off to a great start. My gin and tonic was clean, crisp, and well balanced with quality tonic. Ordering is done at the counter, and while the bartender simply called out, "Here you go!" when our drinks were ready, that's clearly just how they keep things moving without running all over the restaurant. We ordered three calzones and a cup of roasted red pepper soup. The soup was tasty, and the calzone dough was excellent--hot, chewy, yeasty, and exactly what a pizza crust should be. Here's where I think they missed an opportunity. The standard calzone comes with three fillings. Looking over all the delicious options, we wanted to pay extra to add a fourth ingredient, but were told that wasn't possible because of the size. As someone who was literally trying to spend more money, that was confusing. The bigger issue was that the fillings themselves were pretty sparse. The flavors were there, but the quantity just wasn't. The bread ended up carrying the meal instead of the ingredients inside. A more generously filled calzone would have completely changed the experience. When we finished, we all had the same reaction: "That was good." Unfortunately, none of us said, "We have to come back." That's the disappointing part because Gallery Pub has everything else going for it. The atmosphere is one of its greatest strengths, and it's the kind of place you want to root for. I just wish the food had been as memorable as the space itself. I hope they reconsider being a little more generous with the fillings and embrace customers who want to customize their orders. Sometimes it's the small things that turn a nice neighborhood pub into someone's favorite neighborhood pub.

I've been going to Bailey's for almost 3 years now, and let me tell you--it never misses. There's always a new burger on the menu that somehow manages to outdo the last, packed with all the flavor I could ever want. The service? Still amazing every single time. The staff are a vibe on their own--fun, friendly, and the kind of people you actually want to interact with. The Battle Burgers... whew. Every visit, that's the star of the show. I don't know what kind of wizardry is going on in that kitchen, but the flavor combos are next-level. And listen, I've never even written a review before--technology usually just confuses me. But Bailey's is that good, I actually figured it out just to brag on them. To anyone trying to bash the staff while knowing they're short-handed--sit down. These folks are still delivering top-tier service under pressure. If you think you can do better, applications are open. Bottom line: Bailey's is the undisputed champ of burgers in this city. Only downside? I'm still salty about them changing the nacho recipe. But hey, when everything else is this good, I'll survive. read more

Five Stars All the Way! Bailey's is officially our new go-to spot in St. Louis! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome--everyone was genuinely friendly and the vibe was just right. Let's talk about the food: THE NACHOS. Absolutely to die for. Perfectly loaded, flavorful, and honestly the best I've had in ages. And the Bourbon St Banger burger? Game changer. It's now my go-to burger, hands down. What made the experience even better was getting to chat with the chef--who we later found out is actually the GM, Daisy! She was so down to earth, passionate, and just an all-around amazing person. You can tell her heart is in every part of this place. The building was spotless, the atmosphere was awesome, and they even host movie nights which adds such a cool, fun twist. My family cannot wait to come back--for the burgers, the nachos, and the whole experience. Bailey's, you've got fans for life! read more

Possibly for some on a budget to dine out because they are inexpensive compared to other breakfast places around, but the quality matches the price. The service is basically nonexistent. We walked in on a Monday morning around 11:30 and there were three tables occupied. The owner was the only one working, I'm guessing because of how he treats his staff after reading other negative reviews that all sound strikingly familiar. My friend got one egg over medium, bacon, potatoes, and a biscuit and gravy. It looked disgusting. The egg was overcooked, but she seemed to be happy with it otherwise, so I won't make any other comments on her food. I on the other hand had already had breakfast earlier in the day so I decided to take a chance on a salad. Terrible idea. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, which is supposed to come with lettuce, tomato onion, cheese, green bell peppers, and dressing. I asked for honey mustard on the side. My salad did not come out until 10 minutes after my friend's hot meal came out. When it did, it only contained lettuce, tomato, cheese, and he gave me Italian dressing on the side. I immediately tried to stop him and ask him for honey mustard instead, but he dropped it and bounced without asking if we needed anything else. He proceeded to go up to the front counter, check out all three tables consecutively, make conversation with each as they were paying, completely ignoring my friend who was waving her hand and yelling to him. He kept saying oh I'll be right over! After a good 10 minutes, he came back over and handed me a ramekin of 1000 Island and told me, "Here try this one, I think it's honey mustard." Like seriously? Where the heck did that even come from? He didn't go to the kitchen on his way to the table! I took one look and could clearly tell it was 1000 island. I asked him if I could please just have honey mustard as I had originally asked for, and a side of tomatoes and green peppers with my lettuce, chicken, and cheese. This man tried to take my plate back to the kitchen to add those things instead of just bringing me a side dish. Make it make sense. At this point there are fruit flies buzzing all around our table because we're the only table now. My sad salad has been sitting there for 10 minutes and now you want to take my plate back? Anyway, my friend likes the place so I shut up and ate my unappetizing salad. This place is such a disappointment. I hadn't been in a while so, I had high hopes that it might have improved since I was last there. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's declined. I wouldn't recommend it.

I appreciate how they kept a lot of the old ambiance while still cleaning up (a lot) and modernizing the seating. There was a bit of a kerfuffle in seating us, we got sat at two different tables and my kids were given water twice (once with lids, once without). It's clear the hostess had her stuff together, and the rest of the staff are working to get on her level. I also appreciated that we didn't have to ask for drinks with lids for the kids - automatically given. We got two kids pancakes, a full stack pancake, biscuits and gravy, and the Tío Bill skillet (which made me giggle). We had to wait about 15 minutes, and we had a big order. Coffee was worth drinking - nothing worse than weak diner coffee. Honestly, I was very happy with the food. I know the pancakes don't taste like they used to and that holds some people up, but I didn't grow up here, and to me they are better. More toasty/malty flavored. The syrup is also good and has some real maple flavor. The biscuits were fluffy, and they added more herbs to the standard sausage gravy, which my husband liked. My skillet was the real winner. Crispy hash browns, and that cilantro ranch. Don't change that! The total was $80 for everything. With today's economy, that's considered cheap, so I'll take it! Special shout out for having gluten-free pancakes and other offerings. That's always a nice part of the Garcia restaurants. Also loved the syrup dispenser display when you first walk in. I was a little scared to come because of some other reviews I'd heard. But I'm pretty sure now that a lot of it is the new Uncle Bill's clashing with people's nostaliga. I know lots of people miss the old one, but if that business worked, it wouldn't have closed. The new Uncle Bill's is trying to be your local breakfast & lunch diner, with fun decor.
