I just had a VERY upsetting call that should not have been one at all. I found out yesterday upon receiving a bill that my account what overdue. So immediately upon getting the physical bill, left a voice mail yesterday asking for them to please call me back and tell me what was up with my account. They called back first thing this morning, which was very much appreciated. He went on to tell me when the account lapsed and why. I had never had an indicator that it had lapsed. It has been set up on auto pay since the inception of my service and I didn't think anything of it. Kind of out of sight, out of mind. As soon as he said the cc number expired, I knew that it had been set up on that versus a bank account as I usually do with those type of services. A simple mistake not realizing they were on the list of people I updated with new cc information as the bills came around. A mistake anyone could make and was easily rectified. He gave me the number of times they left me voice mails and sent emails, which is also fine. I did call to find out what happened! I let him know that email account hasn't been used in a long time due to a divorce from a really bad person (although I used a more colorful word) and I have never received a voice mail. I voiced my frustration over the fact they wouldn't allow me to change my name on the account, so it has been incorrect since December of 2021. A LOT of things changed that year. Instead of clarifying what number they were using or any contact information, he jumps into an accusation of me calling him a liar, starts cutting me off mid-sentence, insults me insinuating I am the one lying and 'mansplaining' the whole list of attempted contact efforts. My intent was NOT to accuse. I was trying to understand what happened and how. He kept saying "I've already moved on." repeatedly, without resolution to either his tone or manner with which he was speaking to me. He completely ignored me and raised his voice over me. I became so angry and frustrated I raised my voice, even began shaking. Kept saying, "Man, you are SO angry." To which I replied, "Yes, I am! I don't like how you are treating me!" Eventually told me to take a pill. When I told him I wanted an apology, he insisted he had nothing to apologize for. I told him he was treating me like a jerk. He said he has been nothing but professional. HUH? Everything BUT. I asked him about customer service. After I spat my credit card information at him out of frustration, he then gave his version of what an apology looks like, "I'm sorry you interpreted...." then rephrased slightly. Surely a clue he has been down this road before and was told to change his verbiage. I suggested his customer service skills need some polishing as I am in that industry as well and would never speak to a client the way he has spoken to me. I have set an appointment with another company for next Monday. They lost a client today. Take some classes or maybe find a different line of work where you don't have to talk to people. From the other reviews I see here, I'm not alone in having an awful experience. I guess Bailey propane is good at sticking a hose in a tank but don't expect it to go well if you have to speak to someone in the office. Here is how it should have gone: Give the date the service became delinquent and why, give a list of attempted contact and HOW, VERIFY the information you have is correct, update whatever is needed and move forward in order to resolve the situation. It's not hard. I called with a great attitude seeking to understand what went wrong thinking it must have been my bank as I've had problems with them lately! I'm on vacation, just got a new puppy, it's a beautiful day, have already gone for a great little walk today and had a great night sleep. The world is good! Then they called me and he opened his mouth. I have a thick skin and do not offend easily but the attitude I had to deal with today was completely ridiculous. I only want to see that truck in my drive to remove the tank we've been renting. One could scour the internet for reviews left by me and there are NONE to find because I don't typically go out of my way like this. And don't think you ruined my day.
