Better and Cheaper than exchanging tanks I've used Propane Shack for about 10 years. The LP costs less here per gallon than at the exchange places like King Sooper, etc. And the tank gets filled to the legal limit. Just compare the weight of an exchanged tank to a tank that you fill here. That difference is significant and it means a longer time before refilling. The service here is excellent and half the time there's a line but these guys are fast! I've never had a long wait. Make sure to get your card punched! Pay less for a fuller tank! I've been going there for years and they have always been awesome but the other day I went and got a tank filled and the kid said "thanks for your business and god bless you". It literally stopped me in my tracks as I was leaving. I turned around and said "thank you for that and god bless you too". I haven't heard someone say that since the last time I sneezed. Did you know that a tank exchanged from the big box stores and gas station kiosks are only about 75% full? You are being outright shorted when you exchange this way. Feel free to Google it. For about the same price at Propane Shack they'll fill up your tank all the way to the top in a few seconds flat - so not only are you getting your full moneys worth but you're also getting around 4 more hours of grill time. About to host a BBQ but not sure how much is left in your tank? The Propane Shack can just top you off since they charge by weight. Never play the "do I have enough?" game again. It's all good. Propane Shack is a local small business so you can feel good about supporting them. Their location is very convenient for you to pull right up and pay quick in the shack. WARNING!!! DO NOT ask (or allow) any propane service to fill your tank 100% full. This is in response to a few reviewers who suggest this place is good because they will fill your tank all the way and say that "big box stores rip you off because they only fill your tank to 75%." (Actually, the target is 80%.) Propane tanks can only be filled to 80% by law because that is how the tanks are designed (different for underground tanks). Propane tanks require a 20% empty buffer to allow for expansion - or you risk leaks and explosions. Even when you go to legit refill places that don't charge by container, but have a meter that charges you by the amount (gallons or pounds) they still only fill to 80% - because that is the right way. If you get a tank filled to 100% full in cold weather, then put that tank into your heated car, the gas will expand and either the fittings will crack or break, causing a leak or it will EXPLODE in your car. Not just a risk in your car: Same thing will happen if it is filled while cool, then the temperature increases or it sits in sunlight. DO NOT EVER fill your tank to 100%. read more

Awesome place - friendly, cool accessories inside the shack (make sure to go in!). As other reviewers have said, love that they can top off tanks (before a trip, bbq, etc). Also found out today, you can come in WITH your travel trailer / RV - the alley goes all the way behind the building, semis go through there, etc. So you don't have to take the tanks off your RV to have them filled, just pull through before/after a trip. read more

Happy to have this propane refill business here in town. Definitely a better and more competitive price. I like using my own tanks and having them refilled as opposed to exchanging. Exchanging a tank never feels like it's completely full, which means they are a lot more expensive per gallon than their advertise price. With the Propane Shack you pay for what is added to your tank, by weight, so if you bring in a half filled the tank to top it off you only pay for what you added and not an entire tank. This makes it much more convenient to bring in a tank that is maybe a quarter or a third filled and not feel like you're wasting or throwing away the unused portion. So, you don't have to wait for the tank to be completely empty which becomes very inconvenient. Plus, always happy to help small businesses, especially when they are competitively priced. read more
