This place was so awesome the first few times we rented from them. Customer service was great! This last time though, things really changed. We did a 3 day skid steer rental and the total came to around $800 for that original 3 day period. The landscape supply company had experienced delays which meant we needed to extend our skid steer rental by a few more days...fine. The issues arose when we realized that even though we used the machine a total of 20.4 hours or so (you get 40 with the rental), it was basically out of fuel by the 4th day, of the 7 we rented it for. I do not own any diesel vehicles and therefore do not store any diesel fuel at my home. ERS knows this is the case, which is why they charge $6.95 per gallon (even though on average diesel fuel is under $2.25 per gallon). We weren't able to use the machine the last 3 days of the rental and I truly believe this company knows exactly how they set their customers up for the rental to go this way. Nobody answered the phones or called back on Friday afternoon, or returned the calls...so we needed to basically just have the machine sit until they came to pick it up. We ran the machine on low throttle pretty much the entire time we had it, because we wanted the fuel to go as far as we could. The machine malfunctioned many times during our rental, which prohibited us from getting the work done safely or effectively. We rented this same machine 3 years prior and on this round, it was so beat up and filthy that it was difficult to use. (I'm sure they charged all of the people in between for damages they clearly didn't fix). I explained all of our frustrations to the gal at the desk and she promised they would have a fair resolution for us. She asked what would make it right, I said to be comped for 1 days rental (around $200 or so which is totally reasonable because they rip you off and charge $1,100 for beat up machines). She said shes pretty certain they can make it happen and would have the owner follow up. He didn't. I called back 2 days later and then she had the owner call on his cell phone. He was irate, disrespectful and just kept talking louder and louder as if to control the entire conversation. He then said "we can take 10% off a FUTURE rental", because he refused to do anything to help this situation, except charge me $3.95 per gallon, instead of $6.95, what a joke!! When they picked the machine up, they were quick to slap a $104 fuel charge on my credit card. This is the only thing the owner cares about. When they know nobody has an option for fuel, or what to do with a machine that weighs that much, or can do anything with...they gouge the customer. It's totally wrong and people should be aware of these tricks. I've been loyal to them, and have sent many people their way...This could've been easily solved, but the owner is a bottom line manager type. Only saw the fact he would have to credit me $200 or so and keep a happy customer, but would rather be greedy and lose a bunch. It's all very unfortunate. read more

I know that I am not their target market which makes my review more powerful--I think. We had a large project landscaping around our house. There was no way we were going to wheel barrow 40 tons of rock so we looked around for a skid steer to do the heavy lifting. I called this group and from the minute they answered the phone were super helpful, forthcoming with information, and patient with me and my many dumb questions. They gave me great advice about what I should be renting instead of what I thought I should be renting and even suggested I come down and train myself on the equipment BEFORE I rented it or had it delivered! They delivered and picked up the equipment on time as requested. They even called me to verify the fuel consumption and what the cost would be on my credit card BEFORE they ran the credit card. Of course, they explained all of this to me prior to renting. All in all, great bunch of people who were friendly, thoughtful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure I got what I needed for a successful rental and project. read more

I would highly recommend taking your renting needs to Equipment Rental Source in Castle Rock! I rented a skid steer for one day, and was able to complete a pretty major task. The skid steer was in excellent running condition, which made my job much easier. I also appreciated the customer service Jake and Lyndsay offered. They were a pleasure to work with!
