We were here about a month ago with high expectations, and for a few reasons they weren't met, BUT I will be back and think things will be better. The place is very cool and feels way more intimate than it was as Prairie Bay. The bar on the left is fun and small enough to be buzzing on weekdays. We had a group of 6 and ordered several apps and drinks and dinner. For apps we tried the Bruschetta (nice and crisp and fresh), the Meatballs (good texture but lacking in seasoning), and the Artichoke Dip (tasty dip and crispy ravioli should be the thing to dip in everything.). I had the Short Rib (very good meat, the potatoes and veggies needed way more seasoning and some fat on them, they were too dry). I tasted the Chicken Marsala (Very juicy and tasty version of this), the Seafood Manicotti (nice, fairly light sauce on perfectly cooked manicotti), the Bolognese (pretty good sauce that lacked a little depth of flavor), and the Short Rib Rigatoni (the same good short rib on al dense pasta with a goat cheese and pea sauce which sounds weird but worked well). The server was new and struggled a bit managing orders and the timing of courses (some apps came out with entrees.) Overall a good start, I see them fixing things and getting better, and the atmosphere is really fun, so that's a huge plus. read more

I enjoyed the food and restaurant. However some of the photos posted are uploaded by the owners and some are not on the menu. I was told the items I wanted must have been catering for special events and not actually on the menu. The service was great and the ambiance was nice aside from the few living plants needing upkeep. read more

Mother's Day brunch was a great experience here! They had a full omelette bar, eggs Benedict, pastries, bacon, sausage...too many things to list! Whoever is slinging eggs benny back there in the kitchen is doing it right! They also had unlimited mimosas or bloodys to go with brunch...which was the fastest yes to an upcharge ever. Three of us dropped in for dinner and sat in the bar side of the establishment. Server was friendly, engaging, prompt, and conscientious checking up on us throughout the meal. Food was quite tasty and of decent sized portions. Not a clinker anywhere in the meal. Decor was subdued. Sound level was quiet & allowed effortless conversation. Price was perhaps a step above some of the other eateries in the area, but the quality of food & experience easily justifies the price. read more

Completely Ignored! We arrived about 1:30 PM to have a late lunch and celebrate my wife's birthday. We waited a few minutes to be seated and NO ONE acknowledged us. My wife said something to someone behind the counter and he said something to someone in the back. After a few minutes, we were still not acknowledged, so we left and went to Boulder Tap House where we were seated immediately, received excellent service and very good food. read more

Went here after a really bad day at work Annette was there too make sure i was put in a corner for some quite time like i wanted she took great care of me even tho i was dinning alone she waited on me and checked on me as a traveler you sometimes get over looked when you dine in alone which i hate but she really made it an experience . I got the Donelli Lambrusco which I highly recommend (to red wine lovers) i also had the bruschetta belissima , the loaded lasagna. Also got a artichoke dip to go and its so good For myself alone i spent about 80$ with tip included and worth it ill be back before i leave baxter and head to my next work assignment read more

Do not waste your time or money! Plenty of good places to eat in the area. This is not one of them. I ordered the shrimp scampi pasta dish. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy. Unfortunately that was the most edible part of the dish. The pasta was overcooked and mushy and the sauce tasted burnt and bitter, probably because the garlic in the dish definitely looked charred. My husband ordered wild mushroom tortellini with added chicken breast. The chicken in the dish was only a very few small stringy pieces of chicken, some with visible fat attached. The only positive was a nice waitress, but that did not make up for a basically inedible meal. When she noticed I had not eaten most of my meal, she gave us a $5 off coupon for a future visit. That will of course never be used as we don't intend to ever return. read more

Good experience. Food was good. I thought the prices were fair based on the fact you were getting a more upscale experience. Staff was attentive. I don't like American Italian where everything is drowning in heavy sauces. I had the tomato rustico and it was light and fresh. Done just right. This place is newly remodeled and very beautiful. I had high hopes! The cocktails are quite good, wine list was great too. However, I was disappointed in my meal. I ordered calamari to start which was pretty damn good. My main meal was some sort of mushroom tortellini. I ordered it with the short rib meat as an add on. I really couldn't taste mushrooms, but rather the sauce was super sweet and had an odd flavor. The tortellini seemed pre-packaged and somewhat dry. They have very good reviews so I'm thinking maybe I just had a dud night. I will try again sometime. read more

Terrible service. We waited in front to be seated for at least 5 min. Once at the table we waited another 10 minutes for the server to come. Of course, we ordered right away and then, you guessed it, waited another 10 minutes for our salad. Once the food arrived, the server never checked back with us. We will not be returning. read more

Always have enjoyed the chicken penna and the grand daughters were pleased with their pasta, plus the beverage.

Ordered 2 pastas. One had little to no taste, and the chef recommended to add salt to it (seriously?). Got an appetizer instead. They were out of most deserts so it was recommended to get a desert drink. When the bill came our waiter said to "not worry he will take off the pasta" we didn't eat - I'm not paying for something we didn't each. First time in I ordered the cannelloni. It was supposed to have Alfredo and marinara, instead the "Alfredo" tasted like a poorly seasoned white gravy that was gritty due to too much flour. Alfredo should NEVER contain flour. The bread sticks were cold and almost stale. Thought we'd try it out again and ordered the mushroom tortellini. Both my husband and I ended up with food poisoning. Thinking the mushrooms weren't properly cleaned. Sad to say we won't be back. read more

The food is outstanding, the service beyond compare and the remodeled interior is cozy and surprisingly private. The only downside is they are located behind a little strip mall so no view or fun setting. Since for us, it's all about the food, I would give them 6 stars if I could. Same for their staff. We had a lot of fun eating there and will be going back regularly. We shared a number of dishes and their blue crab stuffed cod on risotto was better than what we had at a high end restaurant on Cape Cod a week ago (and that was incredible) and half the price! We had the lasagna, braised short rib rigatoni, fig and honey butter board, shrimp Alfredo, salted Carmel gelato, triple chocolate cheesecake, and Italian crème cake. The Lasagna and salted Carmel gelato were outstanding. It was all delicious. Service was good and our server was very personable. We had a group of 7..when we first walked in you could tell this waitress was stressed..she took drink orders.my aunt ordered ice tea when came to the it was warm.we asked waitress for ice we waited for quite some time so when she was coming by my grown son put his hand up with fingers together..she approached him after bringing ice rudely putting on table and said to my son.."YOU DONT EVER SNAP YOUR FINGERS AT A WAITRESS.. we all were stunned..immediately our family dinner went south.i was shocked.he never snapped his fingers..and in 35 years in the business I would NEVER be upset if a customer was trying to get my attention .whem.my daughter in law confronted her at end of meal she continued to argue wirh my daughter in law where I stepped in and explained how unprofessional.to the point my 88 year old mother told her she was rude...needless to say NEVER in my life have I left without tipping ..until tonight..she is in the wrong profession because right before us a couple got upset at her...boxed their food up went yp front had confrontation with her to the point they didn't pay the bill and their food sat on counter...it's very sad as our first 2 times we had an incredible waitress..this one I told her be kind as your tip depends on it..I don't know the name but it was may 20th at 545 pm to approx 715 we were there..the young girl was awesome who brought our salads and food and boxes..she deserves to not have to work wirh someone who seems to hate her job..I will never eat there again.... read more

Walked in with for 2 of us. Had a decent crowd for a Wednesday night. Got seated quickly and greeted by server in a timely manner. Had some questions that she was evasive on...asked about Clams and Calamari. Ended up ordering 2 side salads with house dressing- was served in a big black plastic bowl with 2 soggy bread sticks. Lettuce was a bit anemic, almost over dressed. We ordered the crumble clams- just frozen breaded razor clams on a 1/2 sheet pan with side of tomato and tar tar sauce, I had a pizza- the mushroom with garlic. Was ok...other person had a spaghetti with meatballs. Again ok...not going to rush back to the place. Server was attentive and friendly. read more

A series of misses and disappointments. We're a party of 4 and they were out of kids menus. The paper drink menu we were provided with was crinkled and dirty. The server proceeded to attempt to recall the kids menu for my 9 year old. My husband ordered a beer which was served in the can with no glass. The salad and bread sticks arrived at the same time as our food, which was so fast it was concerning. The salad plates were hot from the dishwasher, which might be more understandable if they were busy, but it was close 7:30 on a Tuesday. They weren't. My son's buttered noodles had been microwaved until some of the penne turned brown in spots. The fettuccini on my daughter's Alfredo was so overcooked it had no texture whatsoever. There were no spoons for twirling long noodles, the bread sticks were so old they were difficult to chew. My chicken Parmesan was the least disappointing, but we had to ask for Parmesan which was pre-grated and dry. The server was friendly and the salad was good, but I wouldn't go back. Just unacceptable quality, especially for the price. read more

Very disappointing to discover that the cooks use the same pasta water for their Gluten free noodles as they do for the regular ones.....when the server asked the cooks about it, the server was told that it is an Italian restaurant and that they don't have time care about special dietary needs. Also have been informed that the server was terminated for "asking too many questions ". Also disappointing to see the Manager wearing a t shirt (2sizes too big) and jeans while working the floor. This is our first visit here. Our lake home is nearby. Wow. The building is lovely and the food was superb. Half portions make it perfect for seniors. Salad came with my entree and was one of the best complimentary salads we have had in an Italian restaurant. Our main courses were flavorful and fresh. Thx guys. read more
